AnnaMariaPetra
Hi Aussies! Have a wonderful Australia Day:wub2: All the pics look so beautiful, like Freddie said: I am starting to love that country! I've copied a few Australia Clichés from my Country Cliché Thread: Ooookay... *thinks of cliches* Aussies ride in kangaroos pouches... ummmm... I'll get back to you shortly... Everybody loves Skippy... People actually eat Skippy, you know... I don't personally cause I hate the smell of the meat... and hate rare meat anyway... Geez Teegs, you forgot that Kangaroos deliver our mail, we all drink beer, and wear cork hats while saying 'g'day mate' when greeting each other Ooooh... that's what I forgot!!! We say sheila a lot... we say drongo... Anything else? Let me find one... This is a cork hat... I bought one for Freddie just like this one... Rick Moranis!!!! *is reminded of Brother Bear* Oooh got some more... we sound like Kylie Minogue in Neighbours
Oakie Doke
Oh... OkD... don't blame me for the info cause I got it from New Idea...write to them and complain! I plan on it! I suppose, since there's a good reason, I won't take that as an affront to Australia's underrated national treasure - the wombat! Happy Australia Day, Aussies! I take this as a "hey, somebody post animal pictures!" ... well, alright, if that's what you want me to do, I spooose. Kangaroo, lol: Wombat: Koala: Mika's favourite, Tassie Devil: (in cartoon anyway lol) Platypus: The truth about platypi:http://animalreviews.zelica.net/reviews/platypus.htm#1 Emu: Kookaburra: Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree, Merry merry king of the bush is he. Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra, Gay your life must be! And although this was a celebrating Australia thread, we can't ignore all the dangerous animals, as this random page that came up when I googled "australian animals", so clearly portrays the dangers they present: http://www.weebls-stuff.com/articles/430/australian-wildlife-a-stern-warning A report published last year by the Australian tourist board suggests that only 40% of visitors ever leave Australia alive. 5% are backpackers abducted by violent but lovable men in "utes", 5% just stay permanently in the country because the laid-back atmosphere makes them far too lazy to get on the plane home. This, of course, leaves a massive 50% of travellers who are killed by wildlife. I don't have any actual figures on the specific amount of casualties, but an arbitrary number I just made up suggests that as many as 8,000,000 tourists are killed each year by Australian fauna. We can't have this. ...

AnnaMariaPetra
Yeh that was a mid afternoon type of programme in the UK I remember that It was a huge hit here in Holland. A few years ago there even was a petition-action from viewers to demand a re-run. The original Dutch broadcaster wouldn't do it, so another took over.
