The oldest is the "aîné", the youngest the "benjamin" and the one in the middle is the "cadet" :thumb_yello:

But again , the cadet is just "born second", you can be both the cadet and the benjamin of the family if you're second of 2 children, so people tend to get confused, I do for sure :aah:

Did you know I love MFC.

Merci beaucoup mes amis :)

The oldest is the "aîné", the youngest the "benjamin" and the one in the middle is the "cadet" :thumb_yello:

l'aîné: the oldest son

le cadet: the son who was born the second

le benjamin: the youngest son

So in your case, the right word is "cadet" BUT it is usually mistaken for the youngest... so it's a tricky one.

I understand benjamin from the Bible so that makes sense for the youngest.

We don't have anything like that in English.

Is it the same for daughters?

Thanks :wub2:

Hi Stephanie and Welcome in Emilie's French class !:wink2:

Have you seen Mika in concert? = "Avez-vous vu Mika en concert ?" (ou, si tu dis "tu") "As-tu vu Mika en concert ?"

Enchantée:wub2:

I have never hear coucou before, what does it mean?

"Coucou" means several things :

"Coucou" = "cuck-oo" like what the bird says.

It is a familiar way of greeting. It means "hello" or "hi" in informal speech.

You peep out and you say "Coucou !" = "Hi there !" = "It's me ! Hello, here I am".

It can be a way to catch people's attention.

Coucou is also the equivalence to the child game of Peekaboo.

More about "coucou" here (explanations in English and/or French) : http://www.wordreference.com/fren/coucou

Hope this helps !

A bientôt ! :wink2:
