missrully Posted February 9, 2016 Share Posted February 9, 2016 (edited) Corriere della Sera Il bullismo su internet e le parole da cancellare di Ivan Cotroneo «Come mai vuoi partecipare a questo film?» veniva chiesto agli adolescenti che poco più di un anno fa si presentavano ai casting aperti per Un bacio, il film che stavo per girare. «Perché so che parla di bullismo». È stata una delle risposte più frequenti, più delle risposte legate alla voglia di fare un’esperienza diversa, al desiderio di diventare popolari, alla passione per il cinema o la recitazione. Degli oltre 1500 ragazze e ragazzi che ho incontrato, molti, moltissimi avevano una storia da raccontare, una storia di soprusi subita anni prima, o una vecchia vicenda di bullismo a cui avevano assistito ma nella quale non avevano avuto il coraggio di intervenire. Volevano parlare, raccontarsi, perché ovviamente il peso di questa emergenza è avvertito in primo luogo dai ragazzi, che si avviano ogni giorno verso scuola, dove troveranno un ambiente che può essere la culla della loro formazione, o lo scenario dei loro incubi. crazyaboutmika Posted February 9, 2016 Share Posted February 9, 2016 the funny thing is that I just watched some recent documentaries (million thanks to the translation team again) and now I'm sort of smitten with Mika again. Not missing anything at all. He's such a wonderful person: committed, kind, diligent, humorous, empathic, thoughtful, smart etc.etc. His thoughts, words and actions come from deep and understanding feeling for other people (especially outsiders). And he tries so many different things and works so hard to achieve them. It's just that i'm not fond of the artistic form in which he is moulding his inner world recently. Sometimes I think he's taking himself too seriously a bit. Although he clearly tries hard not to do that. Like he says, the ego is a wonderful thing for an artist but also a dangerous thing. And it's difficult to stay focussed and to find the time and peace of mind to invent new original ways when so many people are following and admiring (or criticizing) every word you say and everything you do (in public). Probably Í take him and most of all my appreciation of him too seriously myself. It's just a few videos I personally don't like or songs that I find okay but not great (while many others love them) and lately a feeling of disappointment and repetitiveness when I see his performances in shows like the Voice or X-factor. However, he apparently sets very high standards himself and he has said that the last thing he wants is to be mediocre. So I'm still expecting (or at least hoping for) artistic excellence and originality. Which I'm afraid is almost impossible together with conveying sympathetic and significant messages and having long term participation in big tv shows and collaboration with famous fashion designers. And maybe even (I sincerely hope not) incompatible with having a very busy, happy and fulfilled live. ps: i keep thinking of the words in Ordinary man "If I am ordinary.... so are you". Il y aborde le thème des violences et des humiliations à l'école pour mieux les dénoncer. Mika entend utiliser sa musique pour mieux dénoncer. Dans son dernier clip, qui illustre le remix officiel de Hurts et diffusé le 5 février, le chanteur franco-libanais a choisi d'affronter le sujet du harcèlement scolaire. Devant un mur d'insultes en anglais et en italien, Mika alerte ses auditeurs. Immiscé dans un établissement scolaire, il joue aux anges gardiens pour tenter de sauver plusieurs élèves de l'humiliation et des violences verbales ou physiques. Mika prend le pas d'Indochine mais son clip n'est pas signé Xavier Dolan. Nouvel appel à la tolérance Pas de polémique en vue a priori comme pour College Boy de la bande de Nicola Sirkis. Il n'empêche que le sujet du harcèlement tient à cœur à Mika. En août dernier, il s'était d'ailleurs exprimé dans une lettre ouverte, publiée dans le journal italien Il Corriere della Sera, où il revenait sur les actes d'homophobie auxquels il a eu affaire de nombreuses fois depuis son enfance. Dans celle-ci, il se souvenait des soirs où il rentrait chez lui «avec un bleu sur le visage». Hurts représente donc un nouvel appel à la tolérance et à la non-discrimination de la part du chanteur. Ce morceau est paru sur son dernier album, No Place in Heaven, publié en juin 2015. Il y évoque l'homosexualité dans d'autres chansons telles que Good Guys ou Last Party, dédiée à Freddy Mercury. Rosa Parks, attivista americana che si battè per l’uguaglianza razziale, diceva: “Puoi arrivare perfino a dimenticare il momento e i termini di quando sei stato offeso. Ma niente cancellerà il ricordo di come ti sei sentito allora”». Ivan: «Le parole hanno il terribile potere di definire una persona, di affibbiarle un’etichetta. Quando succede a un adolescente, che sia un’etichetta offensiva o semplicemente t’inquadri dentro dei limiti, la conseguenza è la paura. Credi che il mondo ti conoscerà non per quello che sei, ma solo per ciò che viene detto di te. È spaventoso. Eppure basta entrare in un qualsiasi bagno di un qualsiasi liceo di una qualsiasi città («non c’è differenza tra le metropoli e i centri di provincia», osserva Ivan Cotroneo) per vederle lì, stampigliate sui muri, magari corredate di nome, classe e sezione giusto per far meglio capire a chi sono destinate. Noi adulti siamo colpiti da una forma di cecità selettiva: le osserviamo ma non le capiamo. Meglio: non pensiamo a ciò che possono innescare. Sono attacchi che spesso rimbalzano sui social network, dove nascono pagine Facebook mirate a umiliare chi mette i pantaloni rosa, chi passa per ragazza leggera, chi non ha il nostro colore di pelle. Le cataloghiamo sotto la voce “ragazzate”, e non ci pensiamo più. Infatti, il video di Hurts inizia con la panoramica della parete di una scuola (l’Istituto tecnico G. G. Marinoni di Udine, set anche del film) istoriate di scurrilità. Di questo e altro parla Un bacio, nuovo film di Ivan Cotroneo tratto dal suo omonimo romanzo (Bompiani) ora di nuovo nelle librerie, cui è felicemente infedele. Parliamo in un bar di Roma, bevendo un caffè. «Il libro prende spunto dal tragico omicidio di Larry King, 14enne californiano ucciso nel 2011 con due colpi alla testa da un coetaneo, che si era detto infastidito dalle sue avances. La vicenda è narrata da tre punti di vista: quello di Lorenzo, che racconta in prima persona la sua vita di ragazzo gay risolto; quello della professoressa d’italiano che capisce ciò che sta avvenendo ma non può o non vuole intervenire; e quella di Antonio, l’assassino». Cos'è cambiato, nel film? «Dopo aver fatto, negli anni successivi, interventi in molte scuole per parlare con gli studenti sul tema dell’omofobia, dei diritti negati non solo ai gay, ma ad altre persone che non vengono tutelate dalla legge e sono quindi bersaglio di discriminazioni, il mio incubo era di fare un film che parlasse solo a persone già informate dei fatti. Io, invece, volevo parlare direttamente agli adolescenti. Così ho eliminato la figura della professoressa e ho introdotto il personaggio di Blu, una ragazza. Lorenzo, Blu e Antonio, compagni di classe, sono vittime della stessa forma di bullismo. Lorenzo è perseguitato perché gay, adottato da operai e non vuole nascondere la sua omosessualità, Antonio è emarginato perché è ripetente ed è lo “scemo” della scuola, Blu è la “puttana”, perché ha avuto una storia con un ragazzo più grande. Sono alieni che trovano nell’amicizia - che diventerà amore, di Lorenzo per Antonio e di Antonio per Blu - un antidoto alla rabbia di un branco che li vuole distruggere. La dinamica delle discriminazioni porterà la loro relazione a un finale che non vuole assolutamente essere edulcorato e di cui non vorrei parlare, ma introduce l’idea che non sempre le cose brutte debbano finire per forza malissimo, anche se sei in un liceo dove su 500 persone, 499 ti danno addosso, anche se scopri che qualcuno su Facebook ha fatto una pagina dove s’incitano gli altri a odiarti. È importante mostrare che un’altra via è possibile. E poi c’è la musica di Mika, cui ho fatto vedere il film. E che dopo mi ha chiesto di girarne la clip. Ivan: «Uno degli hashtag per il film è #lamiciziatisalva. Credo che la solidarietà tra vittime di soprusi sia una grande risorsa tra ragazzi che soffrono per i giudizi degli altri. L’amicizia è condivisione, significa non sentirsi soli, specie quando sei giovane e credi di essere l’unico a sentirsi diverso dagli altri».Mika: «Gli amici regalano un senso differente della prospettiva sul mondo. In inglese diciamo che ti aiutano a essere “earthy”, a stare con i piedi per terra. Chi ci vuole bene, ci mette anche in guardia dal farci troppe illusioni o ci avverte se esageriamo, ce la tiriamo o ci buttiamo giù per cose che non lo meritano». Come hai trovato gli attori del film? Ho fatto un casting a 1500 ragazzi a Udine, una città con un bellissimo centro storico, poco sfruttato dai film. Lì ho trovato Lorenzo: è Rimau Grillo Ritzberger, di papà indonesiano e mamma tedesca, che a due anni è stato adottato dal nuovo compagno di sua madre. Aveva appena compiuto 18 anni, non aveva mai visto una troupe prima, ma si è calato perfettamente nel ruolo. Blu è interpretata da Valentina Romani, una ventenne di grande talento. Per la parte di Antonio ho voluto Lorenzo Pazzagli: è il più grande di età - ha 22 anni - e frequenta il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. Rispetto ad altri miei film, scritti sempre con Monica Rametta, La kryptonite nella borsa, la serie web Una mamma imperfetta e quelle tv Tutti pazzi per amore, Una grande famiglia, È arrivata la felicità, questo è il più realista. Ma la mia cifra stilistica comprende momenti di allegria, di gioco: ci sono intermezzi musicali, momenti divertenti, sogni a occhi aperti. È un film verista sentimentalmente, non visivamente. Ecco: sei riuscito a introdurre argomenti forti - omosessualità, sieropositività, coppie di fatto, stepchild adoption - con tale grazia e delicatezza da essere mandati in onda la domenica sera su Rai Uno con grande successo. Mai venuta la tentazione di essere meno garbato e più arrabbiato? Certi atteggiamenti di oggi forse non meritano tanto riguardo... Un bacio è tosto, dice le cose come stanno. Penso però che quando racconti una storia, riesci a comunicare molto se fai vivere determinati sentimenti allo spettatore. Trovo politicamente giusto che si possa raccontare la rabbia in modo tale che, costruendo una forte empatia tra le vicende dei personaggi e chi li guarda, si induca chi non la pensa come te a ripensare alle sue convinzioni. In È arrivata la felicità c’era una coppia di donne che aspettavano una figlia concepita in Spagna... E il pubblico parteggiava per loro. Fare un film crudo, in cui si mostri la violenza, non è meno efficace di un racconto in cui la capacità stia nel creare passione per i miei personaggi, che siano gay, sieropositivi, emarginati. Tutto passa attraverso il sentimento. Credo nel potere emotivo del racconto e nella sua ricaduta sulla coscienze. Attenzione: partecipo alle manifestazioni per i diritti civili, non mi sottraggo ai confronti. Ma è mio dovere trasmettere una visione del mondo attraverso storie che raggiungano il numero maggiore di persone. È la mia forma di comunicare, di mandare un messaggio che diventi condivisione, in nome della potenza dell’amore, della mancanza di ipocrisia, della giustizia tradotta in felicità. Ma scusami: non è un modo timido. Anzi: lo ritengo un modo audace. A Sanremo molti cantanti esibivano nastri arcobaleno, in molte città nessuno si volta se vede due ragazzi che si tengono per mano… Non credi che ci sia una grande differenza tra il paese reale e le istituzioni? L’Italia deve scontare per forza il fatto di avere il Vaticano in casa? Anche la Spagna è un paese molto cattolico, eppure sono passate tutte le riforme sui diritti. Viviamo anche in un paese dove sotto il poster di Mika, a Firenze, hanno scritto “frocio” e in alcune scuole degli studenti mi hanno interrotto per dirmi: «Dio ha creato gli uomini e le donne. I gay sono sbagliati». La violenza che c’è adesso da parte di una certa classe politica non “per i valori di” ma “contro i diritti per”, io la trovo il segno di un imbarbarimento. Il Family Day mi ha angosciato perché non è stata una manifestazione che propagasse amore per la famiglia: esprimeva odio per gli omosessuali. In un momento in cui il mondo sta andando in una certa direzione, specialmente dopo che il matrimonio tra persone dello stesso sesso è diventato possibile negli Usa, si vanno radicalizzando le posizioni. Se la gran parte del paese è sicuramente più avanti della classe politica che ci governa, ci sono delle sacche di resistenza che si vanno organizzando su posizioni di intolleranza, disprezzo, estremismo. Io penso che sia un periodo di grande cambiamento. E chi resiste al cambiamento si inasprisce, ha toni di barbarie e inciviltà mai raggiunti prima. Chi ci salverà? I giovani. Ma solo se potranno crescere in un ambiente che permetta loro di formarsi un giudizio libero. Forse la frase definitiva sarà in un liberatorio: «E allora? Fatti tuoi!» quando si dirà a un adolescente:«Sono gay/lesbica/trans e voglio sposarmi con la persona che amo». Ivan: «Da ragazzo non ho subito particolari discriminazioni, però ero molto silenzioso, taciturno, mi sembrava di amare cose che piacevano solo a me. Ho sentito molto la fatica di crescere. E di considerare definitivo tutto quello che ti succede». Mika: «Sono stato abbastanza discriminato. La mia salvezza era nell’immaginazione, nel farmi film nella testa. A sedici anni lo facevo sempre. Mi sono costruito un mondo dove mi sono nascosto con le mie avventure fantastiche. Finché non ho deciso di aprirlo agli altri, il mio mondo».
