  1. how sweet is that? mika, stop being so incredibly sweet!you're gonna give us all diabetes! (but hey! i don't mind:biggrin2: )
  2. this is TOO funny:roftl: :roftl: way WAY too funny
  3. yay! thanx for the great job! had fun in the old one too this morning though...it was strange but funny:naughty: all is well when it ends well
  4. the title means 'the love in the limetree'. that's what you get if you translate each word as such...and it sounds almost as dumb in romanian...and the rest of the song is pretty low iq too:naughty: but it's catchy i guess
  5. thanx, i'll do that:) wondering why it's never crossed my mind before
  6. u know, the original song was made by a bunch of moldovan guys and it's in romanian, and has the dumbest lyrics imaginable...however, it did become one of the largest romanian/moldovan hits abroad ever. lucky not many people knew what the lyrics meant:naughty:
  7. hi! i'm jewish:), and i tried to learn ivrit a few years ago, from a book, but it's real hard learning on your own and without anyone to talk to(i have relatives in israel, but they only come by about once year and my family only speak idish) so i had to give up on it, but i'll take it up again when i go to college i hope i am very proud of my heritage and hope to live in israel one day, i've been there twice and i really felt belonged there... don't know any israeli artist though(except the ones who sing religious music- i even had a tape of kids playing an almost rock version of some religious songs:punk: )
  8. uhm...i dunno...not feelin it that much...didnt know that was possible:blink: not bad, just not incredible, but maybe i have to hear the whole thing:)
  9. I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) The Proclaimers LOVE IT!! it's one of those songs that probably wouldn't come to mind if you had to make up a playlist, but if you hear it, it definitely brings back memories..it has a certain vibe to it, and it was in at least one great movie..i'm not quote sure which one:blush-anim-cl: , but i think it was bennie and joon - great movie! anyway, the song is a classic! dont like maneater though, sorry mika, it's one of my least favourite nelly furtado songs
  10. i know exactly what u mean..i was away for an entire week with no internet, no ipod, no nothing...but the time out seemed to make it even worse if by chance, and it did happen quite a few times, i heard mika on the radio in a cab or store or whatever, i would go like mika mika mika!, jump up and down like a maniac and plant a huge crazy grin on my face ... ! and i was there with a bunch of guys who had no idea who he was and were completely flabbergasted by this display so i had no choice but to talk about him 24/7:D(well, not really...i would have only i knew i had to spend the rest of the trip with em and couldnt afford to have them think i am an obsessed freak:insane:) and the same thing happened when i walked into a music store and saw piles of licm cds...thankfully i got back just in time, before i totally lost it and everythin is back to normal now:bleh:
  11. for now they are...just give it a few years and you'll see 'dacia' cars buzzin around all over the place:roftl: just kiddin:naughty:
  12. yeah, a lot of people are emigrating from romaina to the uk too and i've read some articles in british papers where people were really worried that they would flood the country and cause massive unemployment, which is why a lot of restrictments were imposed, but i don't think it's that bad really
  13. hmmm..lemme think..well, i am from romania and not ashamed to admit it -most people know one thing about my country, and that is of course that it is the birthplace of the legend of Dracula, but most of us are pretty upset that it was so blown out of proportion, so i won't go into that -sports...we romanians are very proud of our sporting heroes, though few of them are from recent years...there is of cours nadia comaneci, the first gymnast to get a perfect 10.00 mark, gheorghe hagi, soccer legend(yes, soccer is a religion here too, if his team scores a goal, you can hear my dad from 3 blocks away), ilie nastase(nasty;))in tennis and many more -food...people who have visited will tell you about a corn-based dish called 'mamaliga' and a sort of meat rolled up and wrapped up in either cabbage or grape vine leaves called 'sarmale'. they, along with all sorts of potato dishes make up the most of a peasant's diet here, but i don't really like 'em that much -the natural layout of the country is stunning, with mountains and plains and hills and lakes and the beautiful danube delta -the annoying thing is that an ugly little car called 'dacia' was imposed during the comunist era and though it's not as wide-spread as it used to be it still makes up like 70-80% of the total of cars -this is where you'll find i think the greatest population of gypsies;it's funny that many poor not so qualified people go and work in spain and italy, and they've become like a separate social cathegory some call strawberry pickers:naughty: this must have freaked out a lot of western countries when we joined the EU, but don't worry, we come in peace:wink2:
  14. well...i'm not as mixed as u guys, but i'm a mutt too:) and proud of it:wink2:! my mum's jewish and my dad's romanian, but my grandma grew up somewhere in the ukraine and taught russian and french and i feel a bit connected to those as well....but, if i were to mention all the countries i feel connected too, you'd never hear the end of it:blush-anim-cl:
  15. howdy! indeed, it must be great for mika to find support in his native country i was actually wondering what the reaction of people in lebanon to mika's storming the charts in the uk was...i mean...i haven't seen that many lebanese fans round here...do people know about him back there? anyhow, hope u have a great time on the forum! enjoy

nice to see someone else whom mika has helped rediscover music, and who have had their lives turned upside down by his music and energy great to have you on board and hope you have a blast at the gig!
  17. guilty! don't get me wrong, i listen to other things too, but i couldn't get on without a bit a mika
  18. oups..sorry, didn't have time to read the whole thread:blush-anim-cl: ...glad i could do my bit to get mika up the ranks;)
  19. hope i did it right...i didn't fill in the gaps for what i assumed were name and telephone at the end was this what it was supposed to say at the end? Ačiū, kad balsavote!
  20. and why in the name of peet is he wearing more than one watch at a time?
  21. :roftl: that would be so cool! or better yet.."mika's A witch":roftl: i can picture him already, poping up late for an interview and saying something like 'i'm terribly sorry, my broomstick broke halfway and i had to take the bus'
  22. does anyone happen to have it in mp3 format?<makes puppy eyes> i've been lookin around for it but came up with zilch and youtube works very very poorly on my computer
  23. hmm...tough one... yeah i think any other world would make a really interesting and moving vid, but i just gotta go for lollipop! that would so awesome,i mean not only would it be the funniest most colourful cheerful video ever but it'd be interesting to see how and if the dirtier connotations are portrayed or hidden away
  24. :roftl: riiight.....everybody who can imagine mika in a secret underground recording studio, mixing and editting away in order to turn meaningless freaky evil messages into happy colourful rhymes, process that mind you must be highly time-consuming, with a sneaky mad scientist grin on his face, please raise your hands! no one? i didn't think so funny though:wink2:
