  1. no that's fine, it's nice to have news in this thread again.
  2. Right, we don't have a Spanish press thread (yet) for 2024, so I put this here. But if I understand it right, they just say that Nemo is "the new Mika"? In my opinion it's not really necessary to post any tiny snippet that even just mentions Mika's name - but I know some fans also like to collect these tiny things, especially in countries where there isn't much news about Mika. The Spanish press should do some interviews with Mika to promote his gigs (the German press too btw ), but I guess that's down to his management to organize these things, and they seem to be more engaged in France, Italy and luckily also a bit more in the UK now. I guess we can consider ourselves lucky that he's doing promo in Italy again to sell the Lucca gig, and not like the months before the (cancelled) Magic Piano tour where there was almost nothing. So well, long story short, I get why you're happy to just see his name in the Spanish press, that's already more than in most other countries.
  3. My Warwick Gold Circle ticket is also still available. I bought it for the original price when tickets first went on sale - the ones still available now on ticketmaster & AXS are more expensive.
  4. Some more Gold Circle tickets for a lower price than on ticketmaster are still available here: https://www.axs.com/uk/events/518128/mika-tickets (99.99£ per ticket)
  5. I love that Brad won this episode, totally agree with that decision. The boy who played first (Sammy I think?) was amazing, I thought he'd win - but then Brad came and I was sure they'd pick him. Because of his amazing composition, maybe also because of his back story, but also I think because of his personality, because he's not afraid of showing his emotions. Sammy will surely get other chances, his piano playing is fantastic and his voice has such a depth to it, it reminded me of young Michael Jackson. But for Brad, he really needed a chance like that, and I think / hope this will help him to believe more in himself. Also love what Mika said after the performance of that woman who did the powerful rap (forgot her name), that it's not the perfection that matters but the emotion. I think that's not easy, because most singers would worry about singing in tune... but it's true. Tho it wasn't her singing that caught me but the rap, which wasn't imperfect at all.
  6. I don't know why they still take X seriously and define it as "the web". It's so full of bots and haters... more and more over the last few years, but especially since Elon took over. Sad that the hate still gets lots of attention online. I haven't watched, so I can't really say much about who won and didn't win and why... but just wanted to say, the fabric of Mika's suit makes me think of the design of wallpapers or tapestry in some old castles, but also of Japanese Kimonos, it's definitely a unique design. I'd also be curious to learn whether it's Atelier Mika or Valentino. And Gabriel's suits, were they by Atelier Mika? They look very Mika-ish!
  7. My son has recently discovered felting and has plans to create a bunch of felted carnivorous plants... I'll suggest your idea to him if you don't mind, he'd probably love that! Btw, this is a crocheted pitcher plant that his grandma made for him, after he saw one like this at a carnivorous plants meetup last year.
  8. @TinyLove_CJ this looks like an actual prop from the Little Shop of Horrors (I'm at the carnivorous plants organization meetup in Vienna)
  9. Who wants to live forever, it's not one of my fave Queen songs because it always makes me sad, but still I'm looking forward to hear Gabriel sing it. I haven't been following The Voice anymore after the auditions, but Gabriel was the winner for me from the moment I heard him in the auditions, so I'm happy to see he's in the final. (and he's so Mini Mika, haha! ) not convinced of this snippet tho. I hope the rest of the song is better. 🙈 Anyway I love it that Mika for once supports his candidate on his social media, he hasn't done that much for any of the other Voice or XF finalists. I think he had posted about NAIP, but it really is rare that he does. Guess that shows how convinced he is of Gabriel.
  10. Finally caught up on last week's episode. this. I think he'd have been my #1 choice, but ofc I get why they picked Michael - especially why Mika did. His singing sounds much like that of young Mika, and obviously the made up language is something Mika can relate to, as he did it himself for his soundtrack. To me it sounded a lot like church chorals, which is a kind of music I wouldn't listen to voluntarily. Objectively of course Michael was fantastic, but to ME it didn't get much emotion across. Anson did, and also Daniel and Josh. Josh might not have the best singing voice, but I agree with Mika, it fit, and I felt his performance. ❤️
  11. As he's doing more festivals in September, I'd have loved to see him at the Superbloom festival in Munich! But they've already announced their full lineup. Anyway, looks like I won't book my travels to Chamarande yet.
  12. Just bought a ticket - of course without checking accommodation first. I saw that it's easy to get there by RER from Paris, but I thought there'd be some hotels nearby - well, not really... so I guess it must be possible to use the RER back to Paris after the show, so all those who are going can go back? Does anyone know how long it usually runs, and will some of you be going back to Paris by RER as well, so I'm not on my own? I think some areas of Paris aren't really nice at night... Anyway, I guess that means no waiting for Mika after the show for me ... but he usually doesn't come out to meet fans after festivals anyway, so I suppose I'm not missing much. I decided to go as it seems to be the last gig of the summer festival tour (if that changes, I might change my mind again... ) and because it's in France, so I hope to hear some more of the new French songs again. I missed them at the UK gigs, and I suppose that in Lucca and in Germany he won't play many of them either. Maybe Jane Birkin if we're lucky. I guess there'll be some in Orange, but with a symphonic arrangement ofc it's a different mood.
  13. Hi and welcome to the MFC! So do I... and I never got rid of my record player either, which is good now, with the comeback of vinyls! We just have to wait until CD's will be the latest trend again, it all comes back! (and personally I prefer to have my favourite music on a physical medium rather than just digitally, it feels more valuable that way. ) Anyway, welcome here, and have fun! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
