1. on my way home. since there still doesnt seem to be an upload of the complete thing (what about the one from kumazz? ) i'll start the youtube upload when i get home. it's over 2gb though,so i guess it'll take a while.
2. while you're waiting for the full upload, my video of tool is up:
3. i won't upload it on my usual youtube account as it's a tv show and i don't want my account blocked... - but i'm uploading TOOL here atm: ... will upload the rest of the show in better quality (other camera) tonight, if no one else has uploaded it by then... gotta leave now, already late!
4. the way i understood it, the performance at the olympics is in the evening, on the beach volleyball field, and in the afternoon were the rehearsals for it, that's why he had sand everywhere.
5. i recorded, in several parts, as first i had a problem with the sd card (thought it was full, but since it's 16GB i now realized it wasn't but obviously my camera has a restriction on how long a recorded film can be ) and later with the battery... but i have 2 cameras, so apart from a tiny bit of celebrate which i missed because of the battery giving up it's all there.
6. could they please start now? i gotta leave in less than 2 hours! and before, i should eat, get ready, etc....
7. proxtube seems to work, and the openproxy server as well (you just have to click encode site and again on go after you first loaded the site) now it only has to start...
8. there's a lot about it on german websites today, also big TV station websites, like Pro7 or VIVA. no news of course, except that one of the sites writes that the album will be out on september 11, which of course i'd LOVE if that was the german release date!
9. if anyone is sure they can watch it, just take your camera and film it please - it's not top quality, but since i haven't read from anyone yet who said they would record the stream on their computer, this would be a lot better than nothing. if i can watch, i'll do that as well, as i have no idea how to record a stream. i use the firefox plugin proxtube and can see the countdown, so i hope it'll be ok... if not, i'll try to install christine's suggestion later, but i don't want any ads in my browser, so if i can i'll avoid it.
10. but before i used the plugin i didn't even get the countdown... maybe it just recognizes that there isn't a video to play (yet), which is logical, as there'll only be a video in 2,5 hours? anyway, i still have hope...
11. i'm using a firefox plugin (proxtube) that automatically searches for an US proxy server if a youtube video is blocked in my country - works well for all those videos that are blocked in germany, but no idea if it also works for the stream - is there a website where i can try it out? the link lara may posted at least gives me a countdown when the live stream will start... anyway, will try tomorrow and record it with my digicam *if* i can watch it.
12. i know the feeling. what's germany like in winter? cold. probably not as cold as finland though. november is usually mostly grey and rainy, but there can also be already snow. snow in november is more likely in the south (munich) though than in cologne, i think. since it's the first days of november, there's also a possibility that the weather might still be nice (i.e. sunny and over 10°C, it's sometimes like that in october...), if we're very lucky... but i wouldn't count on it. cologne itself is a beautiful city, don't know how expensive in general, but there are reasonably priced hostels, if that's what you mean.
13. yes, of course the swiss tickets are 10€ more expensive than all the others! at least they're not 90 CHF like the ones for blue balls... we might drive back to munich overnight, but not 100% sure yet. so nothing planned yet...
14. yes, air berlin for 77 euro return ticket. haven't checked for single fare though. i'm going by train from vienna to munich on the 6th at 6 something in the morning, as i'd love to go home before the munich gig, leave my luggage there, change, etc. and since i live about an hour outside if munich now, that'll take a while... as it's not a holiday or saturday this time, i don't expect crazy queuing. might not even queue at all if my bf decides to join me for the gig. or if i decide to work there... xD
15. yes, amsterdam paradiso on oct 27. tickets go on sale this saturday. t4p!
16. if you're implying that he didn't come out sooner for not losing his teenage girl fans, i disagree. like someone had already said on here, it probably would have gained him more gay fans than lost him teenage girl fans. he simply wasn't ready to tell the world back then, and probably just said it so journalists would leave him alone with those questions. if i hadn't seen videos of his statement at heaven, i also might believe that the timing of his coming out now is just for promoting his album etc. - but look at him in those videos from heaven. it's a gay club and there were many fans who have been supporting him for years, so you wouldn't find an obvious reason why he'd be scared to tell this crowd that he loves a man. but he was more nervous than i've ever seen him before. someone, i think DerMoment, wrote a very good post somewhere in this thread about the feelings and (irrational) fears someone might have about their coming out. right now obviously was the perfect timing for mika. not earlier, cause he wasn't ready yet. not later, because saying it now means it'll be old news in september when his album is released, and then him and the journalists can (hopefully) concentrate on the music. personally for me, the timing feels just right too. if he had come out in 2007, i don't know if i had become as big a fan as i'm now (though of course i'd always have loved his music and went to his concerts in my hometown). i remember back in 2007 when i first heard from someone that mika might be gay, i had fears about me making a fool of myself by being the only straight woman who follows him and standing in front row amongst a crowd of gay boys, feeling out of place. of course i laugh about this now, but it was a process - and i'm perfectly happy now the way it is, and went.
17. just ordered my ticket. they don't have print@home, but as i'll be in vienna already for the weekend, i'm just gonna pick it up at the oeticket center on saturday before the gig, that's much cheaper then having it sent to germany. also have my train journey fully booked now so i'd still get the saver's prices... luckily the dates got announced just about a week before the train tickets went on sale, as the saver's prices are often booked up already on the first day. perfect!
18. tickets are available now on http://www.ticketcorner.ch/mika-Tickets-zuerich.html?affiliate=TCS&doc=artistPages%2Ftickets&fun=artist&action=tickets&key=809004%242280075&jumpIn=yTix&kuid=427383&from=erdetaila i just bought mine.
19. i did, and he can say or tweet what he wants, i still prefer his hair to any hat!
20. ok sorry then maybe i understood your post wrong. i was referring to what you said that people only learn from real life and not from books. my point was that some people who were brought up hating homosexuality will just avoid any contact with gays, and if they can't, they might even become aggressive. which is probably mainly fear of the unknown. so in those cases i'd think it'd be better to educate those people first, before confronting them in real life. it's only theory anyway though, because of course i think that anyone who's gay should be able to say it if they want to, without having to fear any rejection because of it. and there of course you're right that every openly gay person helps to achieve this. sabine, tbh i don't think guido westerwelle's career went downhill because he's gay or married a man, but just because he isn't a good politician. actually not just him but also the party he belongs to is a joke meanwhile. too many people in that party made too many mistakes. personally, i never really liked westerwelle but of course that has nothing to do with his sexual orientation.
21. suzie and sephira, i think you both are right - and wrong at the same time, as imo we need both to improve the situation for homosexuals. we need role models so those who discover that they're attracted to the same sex don't feel alone. and we need education about homosexuality in school books, to make everyone aware that it's not a disease or anything, but perfectly normal. some people believe and accept only what is written in a book.
22. there's a german article about it as well: http://www.queer.de/detail.php?article_id=17086 - i find it sad that they accuse mika of coming out to support his album, but at least the user comments are mostly postive.
23. ah sorry, i thought *you* were under 14. anyway, if they're your kids and you're with them, i think it shouldn't be a problem.
24. i'm rubbish at history, and maybe i mix up something there, but wasn't homosexuality perfectly normal and accepted in ancient greece?
25. thank you, that's much better than the cut version, loved watching the whole thing! i especially love the part when he tries to explain why he's not good in "normal" social situations - it looks like he never thought about the reasons before, but what he says make sense... and how he says that you don't have to be good at everything and what it was like in his family... all very interesting!
