  1. wow, love the cake! well done! done. enjoy the show! i bet you're gonna be :fangurl:ing.
  2. i don't really plan to go, since i'm broke and it'd be quite stressful so shortly after vigevano... but of course "the first official mika show for the new record" sounds promising, and i'd love to see ingie and bubbles and luke (if they're going), and that competition is just so cool that i took part... if i win, i'll just take it as my fate that i have to go. i guess though that someone will win who has english as their mother tongue. i probably wouldn't even be bothered about looking for a hotel if they're so expensive because of the olympics, but just party the night through - after all, it's a club, right?
  3. wtf, can't believe they wanna release this perfect summer hit only in september (apart from france)! t4p.
  4. lol, i guess i'm too impatient. looking forward to the translation, to see if i understood it all right, and hear about the details. especially would love to know the title of that new french song, guess it's gonna be one of the bonus tracks for the french album then...
  5. thank you for posting! it's very hard for me to understand french, but i understood the general direction of what he said, so i'll give a very short summary, until someone hopefully can translate it all for us. the first question is about celebrate, and he says it's about a break-up. the 2nd question they ask whether we can still recognize mika in the new album, and his answer contains what he already said in another interview, that it's dance music but he tried to add as much heart & soul to it as possible. next question is about the love theme of the album, and we also know his answer to that already... that he has a very broad definition of a love song, and it doesn't mean slow sulky ballads. he tells some of the topics of the album songs (if i understood it right, religion, politics, alcohol, drugs, women, men... and mothers?! anyway he says something about mothers at the end of this question. ). the last question is about his summer performances, and he talks about a new french song there (l'amour... something i don't understand ), i think he said he's gonna perform that this summer? not sure though, he's talking so fast! but if he performs it, then only at the french gigs i guess. then he also mentions karen and tells the story behind it.
  6. just posting my video links: Relax Love Today Make You Happy Lollipop Celebrate
  7. currently uploading my videos on my youtube account (mellody76). so i have to type on my phone now cause landline internet is blocked by uploads, lol! anyway i'll let them upload overnight, you can find them there, one by one. ;-) during relax my camera wouldnt focus anymore,so i had to stop filming the song. LT i missed the beginning, but lollipop, myh and celebrate are complete. sorry for several parts being shaky though, esp.most of celebrate... it always happened when me or those next to me were dancing or clapping. i got sone nice unshaky close ups in the videos as well though. night for now. ;-)
  8. ah, i see nina posted also already myh... so doesn't matter then that it didn't work for me. @1: dunno, i didn't particularly like him at amsterdam westerpark 2008... @2: absolutely agree.
  9. just tried to upload make you happy, but it'd take too long... unfortunately i'll have to wait til i'm home. i also filmed celebrate, but i see it has already been posted by nina - i'm sure hers is better, she had a professional videocamera with her. and i got parts of relax, love today and lollipop. btw, something else i wanted to say... there were LOTS of press photographers there for the first few mika songs... so i hope he'll get some (good) press in the uk. one of the photographers gave me a card, they'll probably upload their pics tomorrow on http://www.facebook.com/ukrightguard so since the video upload doesn't work, i'll say goodnight for now, and just post one of my photos:
  10. of course it was over too quickly after only 7 songs... we then went to the small backstage area that was behind the circus stage, and waited whether mika would come and meet us - and after he was done with an interview and with talking to some people, he did. he first went to the entrance where most fans were crowded, but we stood at the side because we had a better view from there, and before he went in the car he came to us as well. he told me that he liked my shirt and that he had seen it from stage... and he took my hand. twice. i don't know why i stuck my hand through the barrier when he said hi, probably just out of habit because you shake hands with ppl you say hi to... lol! his hands were so soft and warm! (sorry, big fangurl moment here, don't ask me why, guess i haven't seen him for too long. ) anyway, after mika had left, i said goodbye to some other mfcers and then went with marion to see patrick wolf, but didn't like his music much, and went looking around the festival grounds instead. ended up watching chaka khan, i didn't know that all those songs were by her! she was great! actually i really loved the atmosphere at this festival, there were many great costumes, and i was happy i had taken my heart-shaped glowstick glasses... guess i could've walked around in my grey skelly costume there without attracting much attention. anyway, the atmosphere on the festival really fitted the motto "lovebox" - everyone was happy and relaxed (which partly might've had to do with all the weed that was smoked there... ), and there somehow was love in the air... hard to describe - it was just many different people with many different crazy spleens (some wearing crazy costumes, others occupying the front row for a certain singer... ), and everyone was tolerant towards the others, no aggressiveness or weird looks from the other festival guests or anything like that, it was a wonderful experience. besides, the weather was perfect, it wasn't muddy, and i indeed really enjoyed it that mika was on so early, so i got to watch chaka khan and got to experience the evening atmosphere of the festival.
  11. what a wonderful day! i never thought i'd be so happy after such a short gig... but i guess it helped that a) i knew in advance it'd be so short, b) it was just fab to see him again after nearly a year and hear the new songs live, c) it was a full energy show, so intense! and d) he came to meet us afterwards - just quickly, but i got my mika moment, that was enough to make me "queuing" (actually more hanging out with my friends than queuing ;-p) was really relaxed, no need to get up early but just sleep in and not having to hurry to get to the venue, that was nice for a change. :-) i went around the victoria park a bit and listened to mika's soundcheck... when i arrived back at the entrance shortly before the doors opened, there already was a bunch of people, not only mika fans but several others as well, and only then the real queuing started, maybe 15 minutes before the doors were supposed to open (they opened a bit later in the end). inside we still had to wait to get to the circus stage area, because they hadn't cleaned it yet from the night before. that was a bit mad, because we were sent to different places and when they opened, everyone rushed to front row at once - i think it was ca. 20 people, and a small front row, but everyone got their spots, more or less. apart from getting food etc., i went around once to see what was on the other stages, but the music there sounded pretty much the same to me like on the circus stage, so i went back there. actually 2 of the DJs on the circus stage were not that bad, i even found myself dancing to their music, and quite enjoyed it. the djane that was on directly before mika wasn't my cup of tea though, so i went back to front row and waited... they built up his set, then we saw at the back of the stage first mika's band, then his family (aww it was so good to see paloma on her feet, although with a cast and on crutches... ) and then the man himself. i was happy to see that he didn't wear the outfit of the samsung gig... i loved celebrate live, i think it'd be a good replacement for lollipop as a last song... but seems like mika wants to keep lollipop, as he did a new version of it - which i didn't like that much, tbh. but i loved that he did love today, and the 2 new songs. imo make you happy is too slow for making a good live song, it's too slow to dance to but still sounds danc-ey due to the robot voice and electronic beat (btw, mika had an extra mic so he could do the robot voices live ), somehow weird. celebrate was great to dance and jump to though. btw, i think mika has given his old clothes to his new band, one of them was wearing his striped jacked (or at least one that looked like his) can't say much about the band apart from that, he didn't introduce them...
  12. i did some research meanwhile, but thank you anyway. #hibbeling!!
  13. seriously, what's all that smoking stuff about suddenly?! people are smoking in the myh video, and now he has a song about cigarettes and nicorettes and talks about wanting to become a cigarette maker. i'm an absolute non-smoker and would vote for banning all kind of tobacco commercials, and my favourite artist sings about it. i think this is the first thing ever about mika that i absolutely and 100% don't agree with!! :aah: *rant over* (for now)
  14. yeah, that was also what i thought, just from reading the translation... they're more interviewing each other than mika! thank you macboll for translating!!
  15. thank you. i still have to figure which line to take to my hotel (don't need to worry bout the venue, as my roommates will check out how to get there tomorrow), and this will definitely be helpful. i don't have wellies, so i'll just wear old sneakers that i can put in the washing machine when i get back. apart from that, i'll wear mud-coloured (i.e. brown) clothes, so the mud stains won't be so obvious.
  16. i actually like the song more from the spoken bit on. i think the song is alright, it's nothing that blows me off my feet, but it's nice to listen to and it's catchy. very mainstream, like i already expected from that amazon snippet. it's just that i would've expected more from the first single, since all those people wrote how mindblowing the new album is. but then, i guess it can't hurt if i still have something to look forward to re. the album. and do we know yet whether celebrate will be released as a single anywhere else than in france? maybe they're releasing it in france as a summer hit, and all other countries have to wait for a (different) single til september?
  17. yeah, it's on amazon.fr - you can also find it by searching for mika celebrate. there are 2 play buttons for me, a big one above the list, and a small one next to the title. maybe you need another browser to see it?
  18. dito, although MYH is more electronic, this one really sounds somewhat like '80s music. though i love 80s music, but well... ok, i wanted to wait til friday.
  19. hmm, not so sure i like the song much, judging from that short preview. it sounds to me like a million other replaceable songs. but i'll wait until i heard the whole thing until i finally decide.
  20. AAAAAHHHHH!!!! look what i just found: http://www.amazon.fr/Celebrate/dp/B008B66YSW/ref=sr_1_44?ie=UTF8&qid=1339617467&sr=8-44 that's him, right? release date june 18th. "celebrate" is the title, and there's a listening preview. who talked on the other thread about a summer hit?
  21. thanks for posting! hmm, that one of the DJs (forgot the name) is going to perform with an orchestra on stage sounds interesting! looking forward to that! (in case he's on before mika, because afterwards i think statue will drag us to somewhere where she can watch the german football match )
  22. well, i do use javascript, so apart from the program pictures it does work for me... (though the jumping is getting on my nerves). but a well designed website would offer an alternative so you can watch the content also without javascript or with older browsers (i haven't tested that), so it's accessible for everyone. it's actually not even a big thing to program, if they know what they're doing. i don't have an iphone but android... just tested it, and it partly works. this "the origin of love" picture from the start page keeps popping up in weird places, and the MYH audio and the videos don't work. the picture gallery is ok though.
  23. the weather forecast says it's (and will be on the weekend) 5° warmer than it's here, so i thought it couldn't be so bad... but if the air is cold and it's windy, it can seem much colder, so thanks for the warning. typical, from friday on over the weekend it's gonna be much warmer here, summer weather in fact, and i have nothing better to do than travel to cold and rainy london. well, at least i'll only arrive saturday evening, so i have 2 days of summer here before.
