  1. btw, did anyone get any french newspapers (or at least have a look at them) with concert reports? i almost missed my train on wednesday, so i was in a real hurry, but thought when running by, i saw a picture of the lollipop scene on the front page of one of the newspapers. does anyone know? i was wondering whether i was on that pic, if it was indeed lollipop, and from the 27th... tiibet filmed the lt intro and lollipop and iirc also kick ass.
  2. was thinking the same, it would be fab if the LGs and BGs knew the choreography too and did it on stage. so any MFCers who are planning to be LGs/BGs in dammy, please learn the choreography and make sure to teach it to all the non-mfcers backstage. mika didn't play KA live in paris, but the band and LGs/BGs stayed on stage for the whole song. no idea where mika was, didn't see him. at several gigs he was lurking though, i've personally seen it in stuttgart, there were windows up in the backstage area, and mika was watching the crowd reactions to KA from those windows. i think it's a good idea to tell john to make sure mika sees it.
  3. i caught your dance with mika on a pic, it's not the best photo ever, but thought you might still like it. will upload my other pix tomorrow, too tired now.
  4. and btw, as someone mentioned those glowsticks - that was really fantastic, they had thousands of them and gave them out to the whole crowd! well, almost the whole crowd... the seated places at the top part of the venue didn't get any. i had already suspected that it wasn't organized by the venue but by mika & co... maybe mika wanted to see better how many people it was, because when it was dark of course you couldn't see it. anyway, it looked cool, everyone with their glowsticks! but if they had wanted every single person to have one (instead of some ppl having 5), they would've had to give them out at the entrance i think. oh, and they gave away lots of free happiness bottles after the gigs, in front of the venue! so has no one posted pix of the tour program yet? it's absolutely fantastic! if none has been posted yet, i can take pix of it tomorrow and post them. edit: just saw marly was faster. btw, i have 2 spares of the tour program, if anyone's interested, pm me.
  5. arrgh, stupid photos won't upload in bulk , will stop trying now and get some sleep... uploaded a few single ones though (here: http://s778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/mikafanclub_de/Paris%2027Apr2010/), rest will follow tomorrow... don't have many gig pix of yesterday, but several from the m+g.
  6. ok, this is part 3 of my report, didn't have time yesterday, but wanted to write a bit more about the gig itself, so many little bits+pieces that only became clear to me after seeing the show live, as they weren't posted or didn't come across that well on youtube. ;-) first of all, generally this gig wasn't one of my faves altogether... yes, mika was happy about the crowd reactions and all, but i had the feeling he wasn't 100% there with his mind+soul, hard to describe... talked about it with nightbird yesterday and she agrees with me - i'm sure though that for anyone who isn't a regular gig goer it was a 100% fantastic experience and they didn't notice. ;-p the 2nd paris gig was better i think, though it's hard to tell/compare without my usual front spot. what i found interesting was that the crowd was going mad before the gig started, especially the people around where i was standing, they shouted mika, mika, and started mexican waves, cheered at every occasion, etc. i already thought, wow, they're gonna go crazy when mika comes on, but in fact they were relatively quiet for the whole first part of the gig! well, maybe mika just stunned them. only from "rain" on, the crowd started going really mad. i especially noticed during biotg, that was definitely the best crowd reaction to that song of any of the gigs i've been to. well, don't know about yesterday, as i was backstage during biotg - anyway, i would've expected more from the crowd for the first part of the show, but for the 2nd part it was fab. ;-) then all those new little bits+pieces he has added... i think you know about the dragon, the tree, the rocket, and the opera intro for ggg - btw, he does the ggg dance with ida now, on a video i had seen (milan?) he had still done it with imma. then this bugsy malone thing we had been wonderng about, they play a bit of the music from bugsy malone (i think), and mika has a pistol with which he shoots himself and out of the pistol comes a miniature version of the huge billy brown flag. hadn't been able to recognize that in the videos before. ;-) well, and that mary poppins suitcase is really funny, it starts with the BG intro which you might've seen in a video, a knocking sound and the BG shouting out of the suitcase "hey there skinny boy! can i have a diet coke and a pizza please? i'm starving!" and then pizza boxes and empty coke bottles fly out of the suitcase, and BG lets out a huge burp. then before dr john mika first pulls out a flower vase (i think... couldn't see it properly...) and looks a bit bewildered , then the i see you umbrella (for later), and then the dr john coat, which is a lot longer now. before any other world, there is a sound like a thunderstorm and white paper comes flying out of the suitcase... not sure what that's supposed to be... snow? hail? leaves? but looks cool anyway. ;-p and during the song there are moving light points on the platform that look like those paper bits, so it looks like the paper bits are moving. i love all those little details! then, about this shooting bit during love today (where mika shoots all his band, the crowd and himself)... i still can't really understand how someone can have so much fun doing this, but you can see that it definitely is fun for mika. anyway, it's not as bad as i thought, as mika does it in a somewhat childlike way, so he can get away with it. it really feels like he is a little boy who is playing cowboy with his friends - i'll never be able to understand what fascination boys have with weapons, but graciosa (who has a son) told me that this is just what boys do (at a certain age), turn everything into a weapon. oh well, our big child there on stage, lol! from the videos i thought i wouldn't like the choreographed bits of the show, but when seeing it live, i quite like it - it's not too much, so it's ok. anyway, i had a fab time, and can't wait for amsterdam! btw, i asked anna yesterday, and she said ida will be in amsterdam too. ;-) so i guess she'll be there at least til the end of the arena tour... and then in amsterdam or luxemburg we can ask again, about prague etc. ;-p
  7. part 2 so, after the show (kick ass was played, band made lots of fun, we stayed on stage til the end of the song) we got to our dressing room and then in groups of 6 got quick photos with mika (1 per group). i told him thanx for the fab bday present, being able to dance on stage in front of so many ppl - and he said sth like oh it's your bday - happy bday! and pulled me towards him, so i was standing next to him on the pic. bianka has it on her camera, will look in a moment whether she's sent it already... well, and when we left, he wished me a happy bday again. with that smile that makes you melt. he's just too sweet! wanted to wait for him to come out afterwards, as graciosa and me wanted our tourbooks signed... anna told us which door we'd have to wait at, and there we formed a nice line (later they put up barriers as well, which was good, so everyone stayed in line) and waited patiently until mika finally came out shortly after 2am. from what i've seen on the schedule, they're driving to nantes during the night already. he took his time to sign for each of the ca. 50 ppl who were waiting (not much for paris!). i asked him whether he wasn't cold, he was just wearig a short sleeved shirt! and he said no, he's had a couple of glasses of champagne. cute. but still: - wouldn't be surprised if he caught a cold again, running around like that for 10 minutes while signing, and then driving away in an open convertible! oh, and before he came out, i got cherisse's autograph, and she said sth like i see you very often recently, and then added that she liked it and that it was like a little community, with all those people who are at so many gigs. so, and here's our pic, with bianka and me next to m. lol, just saw that the little boy with the striped shirt is on the pic as well! dunno who he is, but mika was holding him on his arm when we arrived, playing "shooting" with him - like he does on stage, with his fingers as a pistol, shooting himself and the boy. i don't really like this killing thing he has recently, but still it was so cute to see him playing with that little boy! goodnight then, really tired meanwhile!
  8. quick report, before i'm off to bed... looks like queuing was crazy - a) even earlier than yesterday and b) john didn't turn up, and security guys had no idea and wouldn't let ppl queue at the entrance where we were yesterday, so when graciosa and me arrived around 3 pm, everyone was running around like headless chicken, not knowing what to do. all worked out in the end though. same chaos with my plans to be a LG... there were too many applying, and so mrs p first said graciosa couldn't do it (which was ok for her), and when we were already on our way to the backstage door, she suddenly told me i couldn't do it either, as i had already done it 2x and it would be unfair. stupid me mentioned it a few minutes earlier, that i'd been a LG and a BG, so i could do both. she said i could meet mika afterwards, but i said that's not the most important thing to me, but dancing on stage for lollipop on my bday, so she said well ok you can be on stage then for lollipop, but not for LT... then it was no again, but i was allowed to come inside with the others anyway... well, it was all a bit confusing, but to make a long story short, it turned out that 2 of the others had been LGs/BGs before as well, so she finally said it was ok that i could do it too. phew! was one of the cows in the end, who carried the madonna for the LT intro. no masks for the intro tho, just for lollipop. all went smoothly, though i was a bit worried first about carrying that shrine up+down the stairs - but nightbird and me made a good team. lucky that we only had to wear the masks for lollipop, couldn't see much with them, think it was worse than with the bg masks! still had fun on stage! and well, maybe it was due to me not seeing much, but dancing on stage in a 17.000 venue didn't feel any different to the 1.200 venue - just that the stage was much bigger here. for the show i even got a frontrow spot... well, on the very right, the last frontrow place. the stage didn't go that far to the side, there were just the speakers (when the rocket started for the intro, it felt like i was sitting inside of it, lol! ) and the confetti cannon. but had a nice view anyway, no ppl in front of me, that's always good... and a bit of fresh air - it was really hot in that venue today! i didn't even realize, but others told me after the show that during toyboy the platform (the big planet on stage) had crashed, so mika couldn't step on it anymore - seems like the whole thing just fell down. like i said, i didn't see it, so maybe someone else can describe exactly what happened. oh, and at the beginning of the show his jacket split at the back, he showed us before SITM and made a few jokes about it. part 2 in a minute...
  9. i totally love all her costumes, and her in them, she looks so pretty! i'll try to get her autograph today, if i manage, i plan to ask her whether she'll be in amsterdam. hope so too, would love to see her at more than 2 gigs.
  10. part 2: actually the venue inside didn't look that big to me, i first thought it didn't look that much bigger than the one in basel... but when it was filled with people later, it looked much bigger. still it was smaller inside than i had expected, also the stage, on the milan videos it looked HUGE, but it didn't seem that big really. no idea if it was smaller than in milan, or if it was just the milan video, that it just seemed bigger. and those programs. mika has tour programs now, so fab, i've wanted this for AGES! it's normal for me to buy a tour program, just mika never had them so far. they're such fab collectors items! it's mainly pictures, only one page of text, in french. not even the credits (names of the crew etc.), like i'd usually expect it in a tour program. but lots of fantastic photos, and bits of mika's artwork, like scribbles for the BG skull heads. but as it's in french, guess they'll only have it for the french gigs. it's 15 euro and imo totally worth it. so, the show... wow, this stage set really is AMAZING! nothing against our toronto planet painters, but those planets look so incredibly professional, totally love them! and yes, there is blacklight for several songs, and it also reaches the crowd (not only front row, i even saw ppl in the seated places glowing when they were wearing white!) - so my blue costume could finally show its full power and was glowing along with the planets. ida's queen of the night costume is so fantastic!! well yes, her opera singing as well of course! but that costume... i didn't know yet that the stars on the short skirt glow in the uv light! really hope ida will stay for the rest of the european tour, would love to see her (and all her pretty costumes! ) in that show more often than just for those 2 paris gigs. that touches you dragon looks fab too, and i also like that billy brown flag, it actually looks pretty impressive! and love it how mika gets everything out of his suitcase through that door in the floor, so funny! alright, off to bed now... wanted to write more bout the gig (btw, melman, fab that you were the bride, and it didn't look weird wen he danced with you, although it was obvious that you were v. surprised in the first moment you managed very well to play along! ), but too tired now, am almost falling asleep here. well, have a bit more time tomorrow i think night everyone, sweet dreams!
  11. ok, report... part 1 - nothing bout mika yet, if you just wanna read bout the gig, you can wait for the 2nd part. like i tweeted, i arrived at 9 am and got number 53. was quite shocked about this - before, i had jokingly said to graciosa, do you think we'll get below no.30? but 53 at 9am, that's much worse than london ever was, and just mad! was a bit pissed at first, but then thought ok front row is gonna be very big, and maybe some of the people before me want to be LGs/BGs - and indeed i was lucky in the end and got a place in front row on the right side of the stage, about where cherisse is. queuing was ok... on the positive side, meeting lots of nice people, and john organizing a special mfc (or rather, numbers...) entrance again. on the negative side, i was changing between getting fried by the sun (have a sunburn in my face, despite sunblock!) and freezing my a** off. only in the late afternoon when the sun stayed out for longer periods, it was quite nice, but most of the day i was freezing. well i just was wearing my blue dress, no long trousers this time as the last days it would've been warm enough - just not today. got my ticket from axie (she first gave me a seating ticket accidentially, luckily she realized half an hour later and gave me the right one, otherwise i'd have had quite an unpleasant surprise at the doors later! damn that i don't understand french and couldn't distinguish the seated from the standing tickets! anyway, we were let in at about 5:40pm, everything very organized, although john wasn't there. made it inside the venue, but then anna came and told us we had to leave again. guess the soundcheck or the stage wasn't finished yet or something, don't really know. anyway, we had to go outside of the room again, back into the corridor where we had come from, but of course no one was in number order anymore, and ppl wouldn't listen to olga who tried to organize it. so i asked anna whether she could help us, and she said she'd check the numbers when we went back in, so they were in order. which she did, so everything was fine. thanx anna! oh yes, and forgot to mention, when john+mrs p came out to look for LGs+BGs (mrs p selected them outside, not backstage like at the other gigs where i was), i asked her whether i could be a LG tomorrow as it was my birthday, and graciosa as well because otherwise she'd have to go alone to the gig - and mrs p agreed and told john to include us tomorrow. so we'll be fine, no getting up early for queuing at crazy hours tomorrow, can start my bday in a relaxed way! she also noticed my sequin make-up, i had made a blue planet around my eye, with a silver glitter thingie around (no idea what's that called, like saturn...), she said sth like 'oh nice, like queen of the night!' (referring to ida's costume). ok then back into the venue where i got my front row place, next to graciosa and kanni... support act was a french group, a female singer and 2 guys, they said their name but i forgot. they were ok, not really my style, but they were quite funny, animating the crowd to whoop like indians and stuff like that, haha. part 2 with the show will follow.
  12. yo. gonna start writing a little (well, let's see... ) report now. am quite tired but there's kinda party at the flat where i'm staying anyway, 2 parents, 3 children and 4 guests - well, 3 of them, the 4th is me - are chatting and laughing away, but i just have enough for today, need a bit of quietness now, that's why i just went to my room and in my bed and started my notebook instead of joining them. gonna be a LG tomorrow, so there's no need to queue, i.e. no need to get up early. v. happy bout this, wouldn't wanna get up at 5 or something to be there early enough for a good front row place! well, gonna start writing now.
  13. i might be crazy... but not THAT crazy! guy is right, of course. now we got up though, and after breakfast etc. making our way to the venue. still too early, am tired. but couldn't sleep anymore, too excited. :woot_jump:
  14. fab thread freddie! here's the pic i have online, will post the others when i'm back home. but this is the best one anyway. it's from berlin on the acoustic tour, june 2009.
  15. i want to know EVERY single detail about this new show, so i'm prepared for tomorrow! so write whatever you feel like. although i can only read it tonight. off for a day of paris sightseeing now.
  16. that was exactly my thought, if you don't look closely on the first look you could be like cool, thanx, hadn't seen this yet!
  17. damn, arrived here too late, missed those bits from the marseille gig on tv... but watching the program now, hmm, maybe they'll broadcast more of it later? would love to see bits of the new show in HQ video. and daisy, pls stop seeing just the negative things i post, a) i'm posting enough positive things as well, and b) i'm writing it here on mfc and not bugging mika with it on twitter, that's a difference. ignore my posts if you don't like them. hmm, i'm still waiting for more pix+videos of ida's queen of the night costume, totally love it! any from the marseilles gig?
  18. fab that the does an additional encore! just wish he'd do another song that isn't on the setlist yet. like kick ass... or OFB. or ring ring, if it HAS to be from the old album... about bugsy malone, maybe it's the song for the BB intro? it was on the milan setlist as well, but no one of those who reported on the thread noticed it, so obviously it's nothing he sang. wonder why it's not in brackets then though. or maybe he wanted to sing it but didn't? or it's a placeholder for, let's say, kick ass, and he only will play it when he feels like it...
  19. he should do it in amsterdam. although then all the non-mfcers who buy that dvd will think mika's fans are completely insane!
  20. google translate says: "First time in France, under the cameras of France Televisions (spectators present yesterday may be able to see the show" One more song! "Tonight from 8:35 p.m. on France 2, note), if please. " so the gig will be aired on french tv tonight? it was filmed for tv then, not for a dvd? or both? nina, do you know?
  21. :woot_jump: (which means: am incredibly excited but trying to look cool... ) off to paris in an hour. will be able to go online from the train as long as i'm still in germany, but no idea whether i'll have internet access in paris. but will text important things on twitter in any case. oh, and tomorrow we're planning to see versailles... hope it'll work out, heard it's quite a trip from paris. but i've done all the usual city sightseeing when i was in paris the last time (ca. 10 years ago), so would be fab to see versailles this time, including the gardens and its fountains.
  22. what was the first song then? or did he play it twice? he did that on the 2007 tour a few times, when the show was really good he played relax as an additional encore after lollipop. thanx for the report nina, see ya in paris.
  23. maybe it was just the cameras for the videscreens? i know what she means, been a bit like that for me in london - although i could still see the gig, because the floor in london was sloped and i'm taller than nina, but it just wasn't the same not being in front row. you see the show, but you still have the feeling you're missing something. at least i felt like that. plus the corset isn't exactly comfortable. but nina and me are going to so many gigs that it certainly can't hurt to have that experience at one of them and see the positive and negative sides of it.
