thanx for the links. that download file is indeed just a link to an online file, because VLC only lets me play it when i allow it access to the internet, otherwise i get an error message. and it stops playing when i cut the internet connection :rolls_eyes: so if anyone had a real download as well, that'd be fab.

the way they usually do it with the flashmobs is make a video to teach people the dance and send it to them. i recently read that with the possibility of downloading DRM free songs, legal music downloads have gone upwards a lot, whereas cd sales are going even further down. so now i'm thinking, while it generally isn't a problem that people buy their music online instead of on cd, as long as they do buy it, what does that mean for the album and single charts? does anyone know how the download charts are counted into these? like, if 100 people download just the one song "rain", will it count the same like 100 sales of the physical single? or do they have to buy all songs that are on the single for it to count for the charts? same with the album, if you buy 6 out of 12 songs of the album, what does that count for in the charts? i'd really like to know. because if it only counts as one album for the charts if you download ALL the songs on it, i could imagine that this has a huge impact for every artist who sells more online than on CD (depending on target group etc.). seriously, why would i download 12 songs if i only like 6 of them? this could be one more of the many reasons for the album not doing as well as it should.

depends... if it's an additional milan date, you're right. if it's rescheduled from the other date, it probably means that they messed up the bookings. we'll see.

that's what you're on here for, to be with those who love the same things. thankfully, none of my friends/family have told me yet that they don't like mika's music - maybe they just don't dare to, LOL! but then, none of them bought any of his albums, they just know a few songs from the radio. and don't worry bout that thread, it's such a huge discussion meanwhile that even i lost track, although i managed to follow it for a while. maybe i can catch up again the next few days. well, if they do milan on the date of leipzig, instead of the original milan date, then the "unforseen circumstances" might as well mean that they have messed up the bookings or something like that. it's just, they could've said "unfortunately, leipzig had to be cancelled", without that pointless phrase before it, it would've had the same meaning.

sure, no problem... as long as you send in your message to john or gig report about a gig that's not covered yet til feb 5th, you can decide on that day if you feel like it. just if you want to write about a gig together with others, of course you'd have to arrange it with them in time. soo... anyone any ideas for the voodoo doll? i think what we had so far was "don't give mika more presents than he can carry himself" and "one single line, no pictures" - any ideas of phrasing those in a funnier way maybe? and we need some more. just has to be short. like here:

looked it up now, 7.500 for dusseldorf, so that's even bigger than munich. still smaller than paris bercy though.

don't really know what you mean we're all meeting up there, i'm not going with anyone in particular. or if i decide to meet up in the city with someone and then go to zenith together, we'll probably decide that 2 days before the gig. those 2 are the biggest german shows though, about 6000 ppl in munich iirc (and i guess dusseldorf about the same ), whereas the other german shows only have about 1500-2000. but there are still tickets available for all german shows, i think even on mikasounds.

ok, my new years resolution number one: get this project going. i've finally established an e-mail-address for you to send in all the stuff. and decided that i'll simply decide what we'll do, instead of asking everyone what they think. ok, so here's the info (will also update the first post with it): e-mail-address to send in everything: john-project@mikafanclub.de OR mail address via PM, if you want to send in complete pages. deadline: february 5, 2010 - so you have a bit more than a month from now. mandatory part: your message to john, 1 Din A4 page. i won't do any layouting for this, so whatever you want that page to look like is up to you, whether it's just text, just a drawing/pictures, or all of that. i will just print it out like it is. formats etc. see below. optional: john-related gig memories from 2009, see the list in my next post. 1-2 Din A4 pages for each gig, with or without pictures. if you can't do a layout for this yourself, you can just send me the text (and pictures, if you have), and i'll do it. if more than one person writes about a gig, please decide among yourselves how you want to divide the space, or if you want to write together. optional: presents for john: lillibet has several things for john, so we'll make a little package to give him with the book - if you have any contributions for that, please let me know. you can send it to me via mail (address per PM) or bring it to london with you, if you're going there. formats: Din A4, which means 21.0 × 29.7 cm (or approximately 8.3 × 11.7 inches, but if you can choose cm as measurements, please do that). please count in a border of 2 cm on the left side of each sheet - it doesn't need to stay blank, but it might be pierced or not completely visible. that means, don't put any text in that area, or any other important information. file formats: word doc, open office otd, pdf, or common image files (jpg, gif, tif, psd,...) all are ok. just make sure it has the right measurements. alternatively, if you want to add some glitter or anything else that can't be printed to your message, you can send me the sheet per mail (address via pm). it's up to you which font style & size you use for your layout, within reason of course (not size 6 or size 100 please ). but please note that if you want to use some outrageous font style that isn't common, you'll have to send me a pdf or image file (image files are not ideal for text though), as i won't be able to see your fonts in word, if i don't have them on my pc. if you prefer the standard look, just use times new roman 12 pt. cover design: is anyone up for designing a cover for the book? mfc voodoo doll: one voodoo doll that represents the mfc. if you have any ideas for that, please post them here. i can make the doll, but i'm a bit uncreative at the moment as to what should be on it, so i'd be happy about help with that. well the question was "how's your love life at this moment" - he probably didn't want to tell them or talk about it on tv (think we've only read about the relationship in articles, right? not on tv so far?), so he didn't even have to lie with that answer, because "at this moment" in the tv studio it was very true what he said. nope wasn't me. i'd just have said old-fashioned name, not nasty name.

gotta agree with that. and not to forget his ex-singing teacher called norbert where mika looked quite puzzled and was like "what?" as everyone at the frankfurt venue started giggling when they heard that name. guess if mika ever has babies, he should leave the naming up to his partner, or they'll have a really hard time at school.

ok, but gertrude?! i don't know if it's the same in english, but in german it's a really old fashioned name which makes you think of some old aunt with a nagging voice. ok maybe mika does have such an aunt and likes her and therefor named his dog after her.

aha, didn't know that... well i know of course that pets get microchips for identification, so if they run away you can see who they belong to. but that there's an extra passport microchip, that's new to me. sounds really funny though!

i could try putting hair gel on the brush, maybe that works better, haha! well, i first have to find some paint, haven't searched online yet. but guess i really should get started soon, noticed today that february is SO close meanwhile!

i will only believe it for sure when mika confirms it via tweet/blog or when any of us gets to see that dog. i mean, seriously, that story sounds too strange if you tell it - especially the name. a male dog called gertrude with a passport in his hear and an own floor on the tourbus? ok as it's mika, it could be true... but it could as well be completely made up, like that john travolta plane thing. and doesn't a dog have to stay in quarantine for ages, until you can take it from one country to another? but only a bit more than a month and we'll see... if he says the dog comes on tour with him, we'll get to see it there, if it exists. if it's true, i really hope it's the kind of dog like bizkit, he was so cute! somehow can't imagine mika having a small dog. so i guess by saying "little dog" he meant it's a puppy.

thanx for the additional tips. don't think anyway that i'd be able to splay out the bristles permanently like they are in that picture, so guess i wouldn't have tried... it's mean enough to hammer the poor brush on the table anyway, that's what at school they always told us NOT to do, LOL! what was that bit of paint on the brush for, before hammering it down, do you know? well, of course you had to make a science out of it, to make all the planets look similar - perfect team work! and the fact that they didn't look exactly like one another is only good imo, it makes it look more interesting, and as all look good in their own way, you could think it was on purpose. it's a fantasy world after all.
