  1. It didn't really saved you from being scolded though
  2. Thank you . If I wasn't living that far from Paris I would go to more but well.. (last year I was in between 2 jobs so it was easier). Actually I could have gone to the two sessions on sunday but going to Paris has become a bit more complicated now and... in fact I can't put myself in the mood for a trip
  3. Thanks . I thought about you you know, it was strange having no one to translate to (but it wasn't a pain last year, you know that. On the contrary as I realised on monday having to translate made me listen to them. Now that you weren't there I was such a dissipated child I didn't listen to half of it )
  4. Same. I love River so, so much, I fell for her right at the moment she opened the doors of the library. You have to love her or hate her... I did quite a few River Marathon, re watching the eps in normal order, and then in River's order, and I keep discovering new things about her every time. But rewatching the Library episode after all this is heartbreaking (and also quite strange, it's like you're watching a new episode. The first time you were with the Doctor and you didn't know this woman, now I feel like I am coming in with River and meet this man who isn't ready to be our Doctor yet. And I think having River and Captain Jack in the same room would be hilarious Xd (and probably -16 rated )
  5. This post is about last monday's recording, and I am very late. I was supposed to finish translation this past week-end but then horror happened. TAH DAH!! The Voice is back and guess what? My magic pen is too! (which turned out to be Isa's pen, actually, thanks again). But don't worry, this year I was going to only one blind recording, so I won't force you to swallow 10 endless reports in a row. But I'll re-use the same introduction as last year tho: I am not super attentive about the concurents, so I won't spoil a lot about them. But I will spoil the rest: I'll talk about the coaches stupid things, and some of them will make it to the television. So you decide if it is worth waiting to discover it all on your tv screen or if, well... it's the voice, who cares. I'll just put the infos about the new costume and the opening song under spoiler, because that's the only real suspens Xd Anyway, the opening song is in the box and our 4 friends go back to their seats. And the tallest one to sit proudly and to tell us that this year, sprawling on the seat is out of question. No, now he wants to be "noble and elegant". Around 6 minutes later he would have forgotten enough this new resolution to be half lying down, feet on the buzzer but oh, who cares, it works so well with the new outfit (and us to spend the whole show saying "oh God, so many pictures lost!" every time he was changing position Xd)... He also finds his way again to the armrest, forcing his neighbour (this year Pagny. He is between Pagny and Zazie now by the way) to tell him endlessely "Sit down and behave, Mika" to which you could swear he was about to add "and don't put your elbows on the table". As we're waiting for the recording to begin, each of them find their very own way to pass time. And as Garou keeps himself busy by smoking his pipe (yep), Mika passes time by finding candies and trying to hide them under his ass. He will put one out to eat it discreetly from time to time during the show (descreetly, that means that he'll shew like a cow during half a concurrent's song without caring the slightest of being filmed). He'll get his french corrected right from his first intervention and will reinvent the meaning of some french idioms, to what the other coaches will laugh a lot - but they're not mocking, really. The atmosphere is actually quite lighter and funnier than last year, and in truth this new team has a very good alchemy (well I have made no secret of my opinion about Jenifer, for me she was pulling the other ones down so her not being here this year is like a bowl of fresh air). And as I am talking about his french, he makes me laugh every time he hesitates right in the middle of a word and on that night I immediately adopted his "We were all in suspen. ... tion". He keeps talking too much, and the other 3 still have a hard time not only to make him stop talking but to keep him from talking AGAIN afterwards. "I talk too much. I really am a blabbermouth". Oh yes, we know you're aware of that, but you can't control it, you have to be in the middle of it even when you have nothing to say. Like we can see with this exchange with Zazie -So Mika are you done now?! -NO!! ..... Yes. As we're talking about him and Zazie, from them came the golden quote of the night (well it came from him but with a big help from Zazie). They are all trying to win the hart of a very lovely girl, and so Zazie tries her luck with this selling point but... "Zazie: You have to come with a woman. The other three are men, they're just gonna try to pick you up Mika: And me?! Really you didn't well think through that one, did you?!" His way of saying that. Golden, I'm telling you. 2 other big moments, we were crying out of laugh actually, were the "Garou's line" bit and the case of the Azerbaijani. I don't expect it to be as funny to read so I hope most of it will make it to television. Let's talk about Garou first: between 2 songs the coaches are asked to do a little sequence that will probably serve for an add or something. It's supposed to go that way: Garou has to get closer to Zazie and to say "I don't know why, but I feel like this year is gonna be a good one". Then all of them are supposed to give mishevious looks to the others, and then to press all their buzzers simultaneously, looking very convinced (and Mika wins the convicted face contest by a lanslide, he was actually almost creepy ). Anyway, it was suposed to be short, no more than a couple of minutes... except that Zazie was having a massive giggle. So they had to do it like 15 times, and I think part of it will end up in the bloopers because it was pretty hilarious... even when Mika began to get really tired of it and was about to hit Zazie every time she began to laugh again . But the biggest "what the heck??!!" moment is about this crazy Azerbaijani. He just had to arrive for it to be obvious that he would be trying to hard. Except that our 4 coaches can't see him. And the guy is making very strange (and quite scary.) things with his voice. So they are getting curious - it's not even vocally interesting, but it's too strange not to get curious. And they KNOW they shouldn't turn, really we could see on their faces they knew it was a mistake but their curiosity won anyway and they all press the buzzer... and if there was ever one time when they would have wished their seats to keep turning until they came back to their initial position, I swear it was that one. Then comes the weirdest (and longest) "please come in my team" mendatory moment, as in fact NO ONE wanted him and they were all trying to push him to go on the other ones teams. It's not just the look of the guy, it's a ful pack of him being hiarious for five minutes but you could see he was gonna be insupportable pretty quickly. And also he never stops talking, like never ever. But you can't understand what's the purpose of what he is saying. You can't not laugh because he is so sure of him but he's... I mean, you'll see, it's not that we were mocking him, it's just that he was too much... much much. Actually he was doing it on purpose, it's the character he is playing, and for sure you can't not notice him: he's not trying to make himself likeable, he's just "me me me me me me". He'll even manage to confess that he didn't even know the 4 coaches before a couple of days ago, and have listened to them the day before but don't like any of them Xd (and so came from Mika "well, you just said you hate all of us, at least we're on a equal footing!"). And Mika to get all excited, screaming "no but it's cool, you go in Zazie's team, she's perfect for you!!!". A good half an hour later we're stuck between laughing while watching the coaches strugling with him and praying for him to go away because we'd like to go to bed before 5 am. The three guys aren't even trying anymore and so it is the poor Zazie who ends up with this phenomena. And Mika is so relieved that he lost all his control and begins to jump in the middle of the stage while singing and dancing "Ah Ah Ah Ah Staying Aliiiiiiiiive" . We were laughing so hard I couldn't breathe (and then the guy came back because they had to redo the "I choose Zazie" take, but thing is he didn't even know how she was called...). Now, do we talk about the fact that he destroyed Florent's seat or not? Oh yes let's talk about it. As he was 'pretending' to help Florent by 'pretending' to push his seat to make it turn... he sort of forgot to pretend and began to push the thing like crazy for real. And so obviously the thing didn't like it, and stayed stuck in the middle of turning. No way to put it right again so Florent has to do a full concurrent debrief standing up in front of his seat, and during all that time Mika was purposely watching on the other side of Florent, like "bad luck for him but not my fault at all, me not concerned at all ". And the thing is I am certain that by pretending not to be interested at all he really thought nobody will realise it was his fault... And as he knows how to remind everyone that there's this little part inside him that will always be 5, you should have seen his reaction when he saw his face zoomed in the TV screen. Well he started by asking them to stop doing that, because he didn't really fancied having a zoomed shot of his nose ... but then he decided that it was actually quite a good occasion to check on all his funny faces. All coming with deep comments, like "Han my teeth are white!! Oh no wait! Hey watch that, I have a yellow tooth!" Also came this terrible moment when we had a wonderful contestant, full of energy and fantastic voice, and she put the place on fire... but they didn't buzz. Well in fact Mika did but too late (I think he didn't expect the song to end that abruptly). So after that he was yelling NO PLEASE CAN WE DO IT AGAIN I BUZZED!!! BUT IT WAS TOO LATE!!! He really is disapointed. And just before leaving the girl says "but Mika I don't know if you remember but we've met already" and Mika to scream again "YES I KNOW!" (and then from around me I hear the girls say "oh but it's the woman from the Comedia!!") and then Mika to explain that she sang with him at some gig and she was amazing and so funny because she improvised a lot and so he's even more gutted... (and so it was actually the chorister who drove him crazy in an hilarious way at the Comedia private gig in june. Except she had a new haircut and so no one has recognised her ). We also had some touching moments. Like this lovely french canadian girl in her beautiful white dress, coming here with her violin and playing and singing and smiling and being super cute and moving. So every coach wants her. Mika was the last one to buzz but he is still fighting tooth and nail for her. As the others do, except Florent, weirdly enough. And it lasts. For a very long time. And as she is about to choose, she's loosing her words, she is very moved and is having a hard time to talk. So to help her to relax Florent tells her, in a joke "it's okay you can just play violin!". And she begins to raise her violin, and the audience going all "oh but she didn't understand it was a joke!" But she did understand. But she has decided that it would be her way of giving her answer and... she begins to play Happy Ending. And it was such a beautiful moment, Mika recognising the song al of a sudden and jumping out of his seat to go and take her in his arms and make her turn, with this white dress turning around them, and then he puts her on the floor, take her head in his hands and kisses her forefront, while the 3 other coaches are watching without understanding until he explains to them that "This was my song". Really, it was so, so beautiful and I hope it will render well on television because us there got goosebumps. After she left Florent said to Mika "I didn't even try to, because I knew. When the 3 of us turned, she was happy but she didn't change. When you turned, she had a massive charge of renewed energy and so I knew there was nothing to do" And now comes the moment when, as usual.... I am too lazy to write a conclusion B)
  6. I thought of reviving this thread from time to time but I was affraid of being alone Xd. I am quite a big Whovian though. The go-to-conventions-and-premieres, meet-cast&crew, collect-goodies, pile-hundreds-of-who-books-in-her-room (including the one in which Mika and his toes guest star ) kind of Whovian. I love both classic and new series, but one of my favorite parts of the whoniverse are the big finish audio adventures, especially the eighth Doctor's one, because Eight is Mah Doctah (and he is because of the brilliantness of his audio adventures, vertuous circle going on here). I love twelve, even if it took me a while to "understand" him, (but now that he found his guitar everything is okay between us) and from the current series I am really digging Ashildr, and am focusing a lot on her as I am beginning to get quite bored of Clara - Jenna is cute as a puppy but I never really managed to connect with the character - which isn't an issue (I really didn't like Amy and some of my fave eps include her nevertheless (I adored Rory tho - miss The Nose)) but it makes me even more eager to get some fresh air. From this year a have to say I loved the Zyggon episode, despite his not so well hidden subtext (I am used to those things being more sublte in DW). The Doctor's speech in front of the boxes gave me chills. The last episode, that thing with the eyes boogers monsters, wasn't that much of a winner but I have to confess that I am still waiting to be convinced by an episode written by Mark Gatiss (whom I love as an actor tho, and I have to say he made a brilliant work with An Adventure in Space and Time for the 50th anniversary - but I am always bored watching his DW episodes)
  7. I was about to give the back up links but I don't have anything to do, thanks Anne They weren't blocked in France until pretty recently, like 15 days ago TF1 blocked them manually (but at least they didn't block my account this time), probably because of the upcoming of the new season. TF1 really don't like when you offer them some free advertising for their show... Anyway, first recording of the year is in the can, and it was about my... dunno, 10th the voice recording i think, but I've never laughed that hard in the previous ones. We were litterally crying out of laugh on monday . Massive report incoming (translating phase right now Xd)
  8. Part 3 of 3 That's when he was trying to kill Max with the power of his eyes only
  9. Sorry for the up, I just discovered yesterday that I finally took more than 2 pics before popping on stage, but my camera had put it all in a mysterious secret file - I do love my cam but can't understand how the storage works (also I have to confess I don't remember taking those either but I apparently managed to keep myself quite busy for 5 songs Xd) Anyway, it was a happy discovery, and I found some of them too beautiful not to come back to this thread Part 1 of 3:
  10. I have one too, I absolutely love it Problem is it took me almost 10 minutes to choose, too many lovely glittery badges, a nightmare to pick one (and I wasn't the only one with that problem, actually)
  11. Here are some of my vids, others will come but my files are in such a mess... Sorry I a moving a lot, I was behind a gigantic guy so I had to stay in quite a weird position to see or film OMS, Hurts and Happy ending, sung in a row in that order: Edit: Happy Ending and Youtube are having a fight and I really have to go back to work now, I'll deal with it this evening, sorry!
  12. We could see it perfectly well, really. And even before people began to put it up we could see it very fine
  13. Thank you Claire for the report and the pics... and a very special thank you for the ones with me on it, what a wonderful souvenir for me So here is my report, with probably 20155456848 english mistakes inside, sorry (and also sorry for the lenght, one day I'll learn to keep it short) Well, what a weird day it was. A day in the extremes: all along things were going either fantastically well or turning into an utter disaster. I'll let the disasters outside, especially as they don't really have to do with the gig, and go for the rest. Beginning with the "how to go to the place" part, as is was so lost in the middle of nowhere, and the roads were so small I actually wonder how the stage trucks managed to get there. That's a luck we had a GPS or we would have ended up spending the day at the mcDonald's (not the one which burned, the other one. I should send a note to Mika asking him to check on the availability of the mcDonalds around a venue before booking it by the way) A nice day under a beautiful weather and a couple of uninteresting disasters later we're finally inside the Phare. And we're actually in quite a dark mood (because of the said disasters) and the ugliness of the place is not helping. It is utterly awfull and so badly arranged. And best of all the sound is a disaster, as we discover with Citizens, and it doesn't miraculously get better with Mika. But, well, we don't have any choice so let's do what we can with what we have. And what we have is him. And here he is, all happy and enthusiastic in his new suit with his pants too big and that ugly sewing on the bottom (doesn't sound like it but I had a wonderful evening I swear ). So, the guy is here, the guy is gorgeous, the guy is happy, but mostly the guy is extremely proud of being, "for the first time in my career", not simply on time but IN ADVANCE. Yeah, he couldn't really get over it. We couldn't either in truth . He jumps into his show and doesn't last 2 minutes before ending on top of the piano, as things should be. He interacts a lot with Tristan who laughs and smiles and dances and seems to have a lot of fun, and it's really nice to see him enjoying himself that much when you remember how shy he was at the beginning of the tour ( and anyway he became my new best mate by being the only one to take care of my toes later). And then comes Grace Kelly where he talks about the state of mind leading to writing this song "another door has slammed in my face as usual, and it almost took my nose off. So I was really pissed off. I went home, sat in front of the piano and said to it "this is all your fault! " and vlam here he goes in a boosted version of grace Kelly and I love it. As Max doesn't play on time he tries reaaaaally hard to kill him with the power of his eyes only, and I think he almost successes xd. Songs go by, we have so much fun, I completely loose myself on Relax and sweat at least 300 liters of water (at this point Mika was at around 400 liters lost so I am still lagging behind him xd). So to be short, all the disasters are forgotten and the night is going quite well. Until this moment when things took quite an unexpected turn for a dozen of us. But before that I'll post my last picture before unexpected turning, as I didn't really think of taking my camera with me for the rest . And so we are having fun in our giant circus and all... But it's true we are very packed up and it's so hot in here. Quite right. And he notices that too of course. So he just thinks- what an idea! - that if he puts some of us on the stage then there's gonna be more room for the others. There's a logic in that, see B) . Here I am gonna a make a little digression and confess 2 things. First is I have a stupid habit when I come into a new venue: I check the stage high and its distance from the first row. If it's very high and far I just think ok we're safe today. Second thing is, when a couple of weeks ago I was next to 2 girls who were both invited on stage and saw the first one say no because it was too scary and the 2d one jumping on stage without hesitation, I wondered in which camp I would be if it ever happened to me. Fact is I didn't doubt I would go but was wondering about my level of terror, as I am already not really at ease in front of 4 people so nevermind a couple of thousand. In the end I learned that a) the fact that the stage is high and far is NOT a protection and b ) when Mika comes for me with a huge grin, point his finger at me and shout "YOU!" like a madman, I completely forget to be scared (or simply to think) and jump on stage like a monkey (well, with some help from the security guy because did I mention it was f**king high? Xd) I then live my little moment of loneliness (you know one of those which last for 1 second but feel like an hour) because my friend who had been chosen too was struggling to come up and Mika had abandoned me to go and pick up the neon gang so I am standing all alone in the middle of the stage until he comes back to me to tell me where he wants me to lay down. Because that's what he wanted really, that we could lay down and enjoy the gig comfortably and "give more space" to those still down . Thing is, from the stage you can't hear a word of what he is saying. Obviously the sound is made to go forwards, not backwards, so of course you recognise the songs but you can't make any sense at all during the speaking parts. So when he told us "make yourself comfortable because now you're here to stay", well we didn't hear. So we didn't know. And we're now expecting to be asked to go down at the end of every song. But it doesn't happen and we end up very surprised to be still up there an hour later (in my socks. Because under the influence of someone I have taken the habit of putting off my shoes during gigs and I actually love the fact that I spent an hour on stage in my socks ) . Now, I know quite a bunch of you here knows how it is to be on stage, but it was the first time for me and how to describe it now? Well for a start and unexpectedly for me, I wasn't scared at all of being seen by so many people, not even for a second. I didn't really realised it in fact. I was probably helped by the fact that we were a dozen and we knew each other, and also the kindness of the band who really seemed to enjoy having this unexpected compagny and Mika's smiles popping in our directions were helping, but still, I was amazed to feel so much at ease up there (probably because I was in my socks, you always feel at ease in your socks ). Also, you know what? We Can See You. Really Well. We see the faces even of those who are quite far away. We can see you dancing and having the fun of a lifetime and it is just AWESOME this massive dose of energy coming in our faces. Also you all look like you're very much on drugs sometimes, and I allow myself to say so as I am aware of looking the same when I am down . And I have to say I understand why he keeps going with his Underwater lightning thing, because oh God, this is so, so beautiful. He said it himself, "those on stage tonight will see how beautiful it is" and quite right he was, I swear it could make one cry. My friend and I didn't have any lights as my phone didn't do the jump on stage with me and Mika took her phone for the song, but we shared those of the technicians who took advantage of our presence on stage to come and sit with us. Really, this Underwater seen from the stage will be one of the most amazing moments of my life... Another amazing moment, seeing his whole body shaking while he is singing Happy Ending a capella.... oh God (a shame some people in the audience were unable to shut their mouth up tho :/) On the other hand there's another moment that I will cherish because of how ridiculous it was, as I was saying don't-even-remember-what to my friend, I turned my head and Mika was standing there watching me with a huge grin which was saying "hah, you were talking, caught in the act! " and me answering with a big innocent smile like "I swear I didn't do anything, professor!". It was short and stupid but also very funny on the moment There's also this surrealistic episode when he litterally jumped from the stage to go and talk to a friend of mine who was still in the parterre, and from our spot we couldn't understand what he wanted from her and he really went on her like a madman (she thought he was gonna scold her, poor thing). Turns out he just wanted to tell her how much she looks like her mother when she was her age, isn't it the sweetest thing Anyway, up there we are for about an hour, and then comes the first goodbye before the encore. The gang leaves the stage and we stay here like 10 lost souls wondering what we are supposed to do... I think everybody has forgotten us Xd. So... we stay here. Mika comes back, look at us and "Oh you're still here all of you!!". He goes for Love Today and that's enough we can't stand it anymore we have to get up!! We couldn't really before as we would have been standing between him and his musicians (to small a stage) but f*ck, it's the last one!! And it feels so, sooo good. Have I ever felt that good? The tech guys join us again, Max and Tristan are jumping in front of me and I am trying to save my toes, end up on some sort of cables and it is ####ing hurtful when you're not wearing any shoes, but I don't care at all and keep dancing like a madwoman. With Mika next to me dancing like a madman. In front of 3000 people who look like they have all taken a massive dose of acid, and I probably look the same, and I don't care. I am jumping with him, higher and higher, and it feels so right and I so don't care of being seen or even filmed... and such a level of letting go, I thought it was quite impossible for me, really. And to have lived it gives me so much strengh now, I have to say. Every time I'll have to face an obstacle a bit too scary for me, I'll be able to go and draw in this moment. The instant in itself was awesome, but it's for what it has left in me afterwards that I'll be forever thankful to Mika. That night, he sang Love Today, and I danced. And now everything is different. (and also I ended up with the dirtiest socks I've ever had in my life)
  14. Wow, thank you *blushing*. Don't wait to hard for a forth one this year tho, I don't really think it will happen... (thanks camille for pointing me to this thread )
