  1. Thanks 😊, I wrote it not long after the first episode, sent it by email to the magazine the next day, but it was only last week when I got a confirmation email that it would be printed! I even kept it a secret from my Mum! It's just a little thing really but it's made me very happy!
  2. If only! But I'd rather be hiding behind a curtain with Mika and Lang Lang than actually playing 😅
  3. After episode 1 of The Piano I immediately wrote a short review for a TV magazine here in the UK for their letters section and it got chosen! 😁 It's in today's copy of the magazine! I would have liked the 'Star Letter' (they would have added a picture of The Piano for that) but I'm just so glad it got printed!
  4. I can finally share the thing! I guess I could have when I first got the news last week but what the thing is has only just come out today! But I'm not sharing it in this thread, I'll share it shortly somewhere else on the forum! 😁 (because yes, it is Mika related!)
  5. Came across this and in my head I can't help but sing it in Mika's voice!
  6. Yep, we have mites on our eye lashes! And other places... 😬 Humans have more living organisms on/in our bodies than the number of cells that actually make up our bodies... not something that bothers me really but I'd rather not think about it all the same! Anyway, to keep this back in track with cheese, my least favourite cheese is mozzarella. I will eat pizza with it on as long as there are plenty of other toppings but it's not a cheese I would actively choose to have. I find it leaves a strange after taste
  7. For anyone who might be put off by mould on their cheese, might want to skip reading this then! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheese_mite
  8. I should also add that the cheese rolling event is quite brutal and there were a few injuries sustained last year, so brie careful when you go rolling your cheese down a hill!
  9. Don't know if anyone outside the UK knows about this but here we love cheese so much we have an annual cheese rolling event in Gloucester! Here's a video from last years event: The Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake happens every May bank holiday where a round double Gloucester cheese is thrown down the hill to roll and people chase after it. And you guessed it, the first person to cross the end line and catch the cheese wins the cheese! 😁 EDIT: In 2020 the rolling was cancelled due to the pandemic but on the day it should have happened a symbolic and somewhat lonely babybel was gently rolled down instead! Another cheese joke: Q: What do they shout out at Pantomimes? Answer
  10. That's such a cute hat! 😍 I know he isn't, but this picture makes him look like he's picking his nose! Would love to see him facing the camera with the hat on!
  11. You've beaten me to it! I've only just logged back on now to go and find this post myself so I'm glad you've shared it! 😁 Now we need a camel actually eating cheese!
  12. I can't believe we now have a cheese thread! This is like the camel obsession all over again! (Now imagine if we could combine the two... ) My favourite cheese that I've tried so far is an aged Red Leicester called Red Fox. It's quite a strong taste, very nutty and crumbly I love quite a lot if different cheeses though but there's a whole lot that I haven't tried, and I'll happily try anything at least once. My Mum though only likes cheddar, Red Leicester, gouda and edam. So if I got in lots of cheeses that I didn't end up liking it would be a waste. I'm going to get some brie next week though and give that a try! Also why is no one talking about edam?! It's a ball! A food you can actually play with before you eat it! This thread is also a perfect excuse for me to share cheesy jokes too! Q. Did you hear the cheesy weather forecast? Answer:
  13. Do you know what would be absolute awesome? A Casa Mika tour! 😁 Combining the atmosphere and energy of a Mika concert with everything he also did on the TV show, but do it on a big stage (arena stages maybe?) now that's something I would love to see! Especially if Mika dug out the set pieces from Casa Mika to put on stage and had special guests along with him too AND he could interact with the audience more and get people up on stage with him, not only to sing but take part in fun activities too! Oh just thinking about something like this has me...
  14. Shame it's not tomatoes, I would trade you a potato for a tomato seeing as the supermarkets don't have any!
  15. I'm currently feeling rather excited about something! But I can't really say what about until next Tuesday... 👀
  16. Yes, it's not recent, I'd seen a comment somewhere from a Lang Lang fan who saw them last year. Mika trying to fool us again!
  17. Your post has done something strange to the thread Deb! This is what it looks like for me I'll also leave recording/downloading to others. But I can get ep1 with English subtitles if anyone is interested!
  18. I think with dailymotion there would be a copyright issue with sharing the episodes publicly. Deb might have recorded it and hopefully share on YouTube (unlisted), I am also going to see if I can get it too, probably in the morning, I'm mainly seeing if I can get the file size smaller though.
  19. I saw the security guard standing near the front (is that who you mean?), he looked confused for a moment there! If anyone gets a good quality screenshot of Mika peeping through the curtain can you please share it here? His little face had me in stitches! 🤣
  20. In all seriousness though, that was a great episode! The emotional impact has gone up a level from last week and it's like I can feel that emotion running through every note the pianists played. I loved how Mika and Lang Lang described how a piano can be someone's voice. Playing an instrument can sometimes be the only way people can express themselves in a more open and truthful way and it's really beautiful to see. At the start Mika said the people of Leeds are warm people and he's always surprised by something in Leeds, I hope he means that too for all Yorkshire folk! (Next time you're in Leeds Mika, hop on the train that comes to my town, only 25 mins away!) Also I love that Claudia always describes Mika as a world renowned performer! Can more people in the media do that please and not only think if him as "that guy who sings Grace Kelly"?.
  21. No I'm not crying, you are! I just have early Spring allergies...
  22. In Episode 1 of The Piano, when Harry started playing, Mika made a comment along the lines of "There should be balloons attached to the piano and he can float in the air like in Up." This implies that Mika has seen the Disney movie Up. But maybe he wasn't watching properly because it's a house with balloons attached not a piano! I wouldn't be surprised if Mika has seen the movie though, it's such an uplifting (excuse the pun!) and heartwarming story and one of my favourites by Disney.
  23. Impressed you know that but not the names! Bad Man is just that, he's bad with a bad attitude too. Good thing is I haven't seen him in a long time and I actually think he might have abandoned his house... Raided house lady is a sweet old lady who moved into the very top house on the street a couple of weeks after a police raid. I just happened to be walking my dog when it happened too! She's probably got nothing to do with what happened but I can't help let my imagination wander and then wonder if she's a secret gangster granny! He has one? Or he looks like one? Alpaca Man may well have moved, I haven't seen him for a while either. He was always cheery and would say hello, his house will be forever be known as the Alpaca House! As for where the name came from it was a Freudian slip by my Mum! I remember she said something like "I saw that nice man with the alpaca again today." And the name has stuck ever since! (he had a tall skinny jack russel terrier! )
