Interestingly the Fiat website (http://www.fiat500.com) news section mentions that “pop star Mika will be performing several tracks from her album...” see below.

Now my Engrish is pretty good, but mistaking his for her? What kind of PR people are these people employing? Note to PR people: DO SOME RESEARCH!!!

A spectacular party for the launch of the Fiat 500 in the UK - January 2008

The 21st of January 2008 will be a red-letter day for the UK.

The Fiat 500, ‘Car of the Year 2008’, will be officially launched on the UK market, and to mark the occasion a spectacular event has been organised at the British Airways London Eye in London.

At 8.00 p.m. (GMT +2) on January 21, exactly 500 hours after the start of the year, the eyes of the British public will look to the skies: the British Airways London Eye , the highest panoramic wheel in Europe, will be lit up in a fanfare of lights and colours, and inside one of its glass cabins will be the Fiat 500. A complete turn of the wheel will carry the new car into the skies over London, and it will be remaining in its glass cabin for a full two weeks following the event.

This will undoubtedly be the most exciting and spectacular part of the evening, but the event will be starting beforehand, at 6.00 p.m., with bands, DJs and top presenters. There will also be a spectacular fireworks display, and pop star Mika will be performing several tracks from her album ‘In Cartoon Motion’, in celebration of the real star of the evening: the Fiat 500.

The whole event will be followed by national radio and television, and it will also be broadcast in a live web streaming in Fiat Dealerships up and down the country.

From the 24th Jan up to the 3rd February, the Fiat 500 will continue to travel around the London Eye in a private capsule and you could touch and experience other 4 Fiat 500 positionated around the site.

Here you could also design and win your own unique Fiat 500 on our configurator.

Make a date in your diary for January 21 in London. And if you can’t be there in person, then later you will be able to see and hear all about the spectacular event on the site http://www.fiat500.com.
