Especially if they are from a tiger! Obviously, I wouldn't want the thing if the teeth were *real*! And I'm always happy to see the penguin, any time! I wish we *could* find out where they were doing their random testing next time... though I'm pretty sure it's not going to be the Washington, DC area... *sigh* However, I will be in New York City in a few weeks, so Mika, if you'd like to try for the weekend of February 7 in the Big Apple... Having people listen to and evaluate his stuff, who possibly don't even know he wrote GK, let alone never got to listen to that one at all, is a much better indicator of what might work for the rank and file. As a testing ground MFC would be about one of the least suitable places IMO. I couldn't agree more, especially if people are offering their opinions directly to Mika. Even the most critical of us would be wary to slight Da Mastah to his face. And there is a very loud contingent who think you're a "bad fan" if you don't praise him at all times in order to show your support. And there are always those who just like anything Mika does because it's Mika. you 2 are so right... we are not a fair playing ground at all. we would be the least suitable place for him to get an idea if his songs are good or not. a great majority of mfcers worship the grounds he walks on... i don't think many of us would be able to tell him if a song is not good. i mean, this is the place where people make threads about his toes, feet, dimples, eyelashes, hair, gasmic and just to name a few!!!! and christine is right, the minute you mention not liking something mika related... you take a chance of being trampled!! so... i have to try it... i do not like the song erase, his gold shoes that he wore with the salmon sweater. so now... i better start running!!!!! but i would love to hear what those birds heard!!!! i wonder if any animals were hurt during the filming hehehe Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The idea isn't to run new things by people that may have come to expect a particular sound from him - and then will inevitably compare the new to what they are familiar with. One of the ideas is to play these new sounds to "fresh" ears; those without any preconceived ideas of how his music should sound. Is it really testing though, or marketing? Again, it's not us he needs to pursuade. People have said you get a bad reaction on MFC if you criticise Mika. I'm still not convinced about that but I have noticed that people who talk about Mika deliberately doing things for advertising/promotion purposes get torn to shreds.
