tauruslady
or hes already been on http://www.rockfm.co.uk/Article.asp?id=1420863&spid=21847 ... im confused here , too much mika today is messing my head up I know what you mean, I feel completely overloaded in Mika and technology in general today, I think we should all log off and go run down the garden, get some air! OMG we're in this together Equally flaky I've had an inconsistant opinion about the song since I've heard it. It just has that love hate way about it...I think it's marmite through and through. We'll probably like it when we're in the mood for being positive.

silver
Maybe that's it...but I still think with or without hype it's not as amazing to me as I wish it was.I still think the album will be great, because judging from the ones from the acoustic tour, they are all really good! And I know what you mean by the quick and snappy way to it. Not that that's a bad thing, but to me it sounds like loads of different idea's all in one song and it sounds a bit jumbled. Maybe that's the idea though... I love the verses and the way he sings in sudden unexpected falsetto but the chorus just keeps popping up and... I'm going to shut up now or all my inner thoughts about WAG will come out and I won't seem like a fan at all. I agree with nearly all of this - except it's the verses and unexpected falsetto bits I don't like and the chorus bit I do like Marmite
natmika
He said that the video is basically him dancing. in white boxers:mf_lustslow::naughty:Although he also said that someone from the record company said that some parts would have to be cut to be played on tv. CazGirl
Okay so I didn't read the last couple of pages but I've read that some people think Mika has released this single because it's "audience friendly"/"radio friendly" etcetc... Okay so it's your opinion but...really? That's not what Mika's about, is it? Surely he's stuck to his guns? I personally think this song is totally Mika and one that IS marmite... About the song being overproduced...sure, it has a lot going on, but this song is pure pop. I know what you mean when you say you can't hear a great deal of Mika's voice (although this is only a problem for me towards the end when he sings about being alone and hurting himself blah blah before he starts whispering "we are not what you think we are...") Not only is this pure pop but it's also very...teenagey... which is exactly what the song is about. It's not going to appeal to everyone. It's okay not to like it, I'm not having a go at those who aren't over the moon about it... But personally I love how it sounds so big and it makes me want to dance in a room full of people with a confetti gun continuously going off And remember, people have said it wasn't what they were expecting. What is a Grace Kelly Version 2.0 by the way? A song that sounds similar to Grace Kelly? Gosh, surely we would have jumped on him if that happened? Mika came out with something a little different. Like it or loathe it, the difference is a good thing, surely?... I'm sure it will grow on people... And I must be in a minority group because I for one am glad that HMDYLM isn't on the album And don't forget, we haven't heard this song live yet...I can't wait to go to his next gig and be in a room full of people screaming "WE ARE NOT WHAT YOU THINK WE ARE; WE ARE GOLDEN!" tiibet
Never really warmed to that. And it doesn't seem to have much in common with Viva la Vida (which I love) to me either. I think WAG is great- so exhilarating. I thought it was bitty at first, but now I've heard it two or three times it feels together. I think that slight abruptness is going to keep it fresh for much longer than if it had initially seemed smoother. But I'm not really seeing why so many people were telling the radio shows it's typical Mika though- it sounds quite different to me. Don't see any reason to assume its not sincere- and I like the lyrics, they're distincly odd. I think it is sincere, too. He has made some compromises, yes. WAG is not at my top ten Mika song list either but I really like it. It's happy and cheerful and very catchy. It is not as "weird" (sorry, use that word because cannot find the right one, lol) as I thought and hoped for after the clip, though, but I like it. Maybe he felt he had to do it I'm really looking forward the album. Rain would have been perfect single for European market, can't wait to hear it (album version).
