On Monday at the Toronto gig, I was so happy that he was playing Happy Ending, but songs like Happy Ending and Pick Up Off the Floor just kind of command the audience to shut up and listen (and sing along at the appropriate parts). It's wonderful how music can just take ahold of your emotions like that, and Mika is great at it! Does anyone else find it rude when a few people are shouting throughout slow, emotional songs, while everybody is listening and the performer, whoever they are, is putting their heart into their song? Yes, it makes me slightly crazy. That's why I loved the summer acoustic tour; in Amsterdam and Brussels especially, everyone STFU and listened, even to Over My Shoulder. Was great. But strangely it reminds me of Moulen Rouge's song - the beginning of Nature Boy (there was a boy... and so on) - the music is melancholy and heart breaking.
