Really? :blink:I think his pose in the Boss campagne is trully beautiful, I'd say manly rather than macho, cos actually I hate that label and everything it implies as well as the gayish label on the other side.:aah:

And I think he can afford those different styles very successfully cos his look and personality allow that switch.:wink2:

Right, look only at Pink or Robin, not to mention the older singers.

Like Bowie Mika also can have different and even shocking looks from time to time.:thumb_yello:

Exactly, I remember very well how Simon looked with a hat. And it was lovely.:blush-anim-cl:

I was more into John Taylor, it was as lovely:blush-anim-cl:

Absolutely agree with that :thumb_yello:

About the gender codes, I was talking about those who think he looks more manly on the last pics at the Queen exhibit in comparison with those who think he fits into 'gay aesthetics' :dunno:

It's weird to see some points of view so opposite...

Anyway.. agree with you also on your last sentence :thumb_yello:

Yes, you're right and I understood what you wanted to say :thumb_yello:

On the last pics with Brian May he doesn't look manly in the sense of the Hugo Boss campagne. Not at all. :naughty:

But yes, our perception of Mika (maybe what we would like him to be) is very different.:aah:

You're probably right :naughty:

Exactly :thumb_yello:

Or at least, those lines are not read in the same way by everybody

Having said that, agree with you both about the comparison with Boy George. It is limited to the hat :teehee:

not even that, IMO... Boy George's hats in the 80s had a wider brim.

Mika's one is a bowler / Derby hat.

The boy has mature and so have this fan club, in the oldern days we would have been told off by the mods by talking like this!:mf_rosetinted:

yes, it seems MFC has come of age, too.:naughty:

Some (of many) Charlie Chaplin Quotes:

A day without laughter is a day wasted.

A man's true character comes out when he's drunk.

A tramp, a gentleman, a poet, a dreamer, a lonely fellow,

always hopeful of romance and adventure.

Actors search for rejection.

If they don't get it they reject themselves.

All my pictures are built around the idea of getting in trouble

and so giving me the chance to be desperately serious

in my attempt to appear as a normal little gentleman.

Failure is unimportant.

It takes courage to make a fool of yourself.

I do not have much patience with a thing of beauty

that must be explained to be understood.

If it does need additional interpretation

by someone other than the creator,

then I question whether it has fulfilled its purpose.

I had no idea of the character.

But the moment I was dressed,

the clothes and the make-up made me feel the person he was.

I began to know him, and by the time I walked onto the stage

he was fully born.

I remain just one thing, and one thing only, and that is a clown.

It places me on a far higher plane than any politician.

I suppose that's one of the ironies of life

doing the wrong thing at the right moment.

I thought I would dress in baggy pants, big shoes, a cane and a derby hat. Everything a contradiction: the pants baggy, the coat tight, the hat small

and the shoes large.

I don't believe that the public knows what it wants;

this is the conclusion that I have drawn from my career.
