  1. i just remembered, he said at the beginning that so far he's the only one in the world who has the record, on his laptop, and that's why *he* is playing the songs to us himself. something along those lines. as if he had to excuse it to us that he was there!
  2. i have some, they're still downloading from my camera atm. i definitely have all the talking, and i think the new songs as well. i'll upload them tonight.
  3. really tired, but i gotta write down what i remember about the songs and what he said, based on the notes i took, as long as my memories are fresh... the songs we already know were basically like the live versions, there was nothing i missed compared to the live versions. Step with me: he wrote it during that songwriter workshop in the french castle which name he couldn't remember. together with a woman (her name has been mentioned here), in a damp room in that castle. he said there were many different rooms, beautiful ones and not so beautiful ones, and they got the worst one, with mice running over the mantlepiece. so they wanted to make an "easy" song. he said it's about describing a love, like, the steps you take with a lover, and then in the end realizing that you don't know this person at all and it was all just in your head. it's a mid-tempo song with a big sounding chorus, and it put a HUGE smile on my face, i absolutely loved it!!! in the chorus he counts down the steps from one to six (3 first, then another short part in between, then the other 3). what i understood from the lyrics was "step one - come a little closer ... step two - you can rest on my shoulder" (or something along those lines) - and i've also written down the lyrics part "three steps three steps - three steps for loving me". i'm sure if he had played that song not as the 3rd song but towards the end i'd remember the melody, i found it very catchy! maybe it comes back to me in the next days, i really hope so, i want to hear that song again asap, and if it's only in my head. Stardust it has a catchy melody, with an electronic david guetta style (imo) sound in the background. i even remember a bit of the chorus melody - well i think i do... if you want i can play those few notes on the piano tomorrow (if i still remember it then ) and put it on youtube - but no guarantee that it's correct! chorus lyrics, from what i understood: "put a little stardust in your eyes, put a little sunshine in your life, give me a little heart to feel the same ..." and another lyrics line he was singing several times (think it's the last line of the song too) was "when will i see you again". underwater i love how in the end the "underwater, underwater, i can live underwater" part is mixed with the "underwateeeeeerrrrrr" - the band also does that for the live version but it comes out more clearly in the recorded version. i had goosebumps when he played underwater, it's SO beautiful! in the second verse he started with "flying through a bright blue sky", that's different from what he currently sings live. if that makes sense at all, the next line might be "with a spaceball high" - it's funny cause i also understood spaceball in the live version, and now it suddenly made sense for me. kids mid-tempo song, i liked the melody of the bridge. can't remember anything else about it though. emily the lyrics are similar to the english version of elle me dit from schaffhausen, but he also changed some bits. the first lines are still the same, "get your a** to number one", LOL! later it's "pourquoi tu gaches ta vie" 2x, then another line that i didn't understand, and then he sang "dance with me emily!" instead of the "danse danse danse elle me dit danse" - that was so funny i burst out laughing when i heard it for the first time! Popular that was my other fave of the yet unheard songs, besides step with me. it started with a rap of priscilla renea and mika, and i first was like MIKA RAPPING?! ... it soon turned into a nice melody though - there's some more rap in the song, but more melodic parts than rap. it's a very happy sounding mid-tempo song with a beat that i really like, it goes "looong, short, short, short" - hard to describe with words, lol! mika said at some point that it was about bullying, and recited a few lines of the lyrics, it was a great bit of lyrics but can't remember now. it included that "popular corn" bit though, that he had tweeted a few months ago. Heroes the only song i didn't like much. mika said it was a VERY raw version though, and he only played half of the song to us (more than the 30 seconds he first announced though ) - maybe he does something interesting with it, but atm i find it rather boring. alright, that's it for now, now OFF TO BED, gotta get up in 5 hours!
  4. i could definitely tell there was something different, but i didnt recognize it as 'bad mood' til he said it,and by then he was in a good mood again. i first thought that starting with gk the way he did had sth to do with the crowd, that they would like something acoustic and artistic better than him jumping around on stage. the lack of crowd interaction for the first few songs was a sign that something was wrong though, only time i've seen him act similar so far was in hamburg after that kick ass/radio1 thing, but there it was for the whole gig, whereas in luzern it was just the first 4 or 5 songs.
  5. just a quick report from my mobile while waiting for sth to happen here in vigevano. nina already described the gig v.well in her blog. just a few things though, i didnt have the feeling he wanted to get off stage quickly, he stayed for a bit, bowing to the crowd. i think the crowd reaction got him out of that bad mood completely towards the end of the gig. it was amazing to see really everyone jumping for lt, even on the balcony! he totally won them over, and it helped him too. i love what he did with the old songs, adding a piano line from daydream believer to the billy brown intro, the calypso beat in lollipop and the acoustic start of rain, for example. the m+g was epic. tina counted 17 ppl waiting for him, most mfcers. he joked about tphe name of the festival, and when he had signed everything ppl gave him he was like what, thats it?! lol! he put the pen away, stood in our midst and started chatting with us. i told him i loved tool and was looking forward to hear more on wed... mika looked like so i asked whether he knew about the pre listening at all and obviosly he had no idea. his manager then confirmed it to him. he then said the album wasnt finished and we'd only get to hear a raw version. i'll post more details about what was talked when i'm home on thursday, got some of it filmed (though it was too dark,so guess its just the sound), think i'll remember more when i listen to that. still no support act on stage here in italy...
  6. the glasses are 1,20 euro each. ;) cu tomorrow!

  7. yes, there's an app for ustream, thank you! just downloaded and tried it, i had to register anyway, so if it works, you'd see it on http://www.ustream.tv/channel/mellody76. i doubt though that the wi-fi would be fast enough, even if it's available in the venue... probably many people will use it at once at the festival! it's a cool idea though! might do it from the german tour.
  8. lol! there probably is an app for that? i'll have some time from going inside until the gig starts, so if the free wi-fi works inside the venue, i'll try to figure it out. though i guess the video quality of my mobile would be a bit disappointing.
  9. tomorrroooowwww!!! btw, i just discovered that there's free wi-fi around the kkl and the station: http://www.luzern.com/en/information/dienste/87791 hope it works, ideally also inside the venue, then i could tweet updates from the gig. i won't use the mobile internet in switzerland, it's too expensive outside the EU. in italy it should be ok for a few tweets... but if there's (a working) free wi-fi in luzern, that's perfect!
  10. thank you. will allegra be at the listening too? it'd be great if it was possible that you let me know in advance where the parking is, then i could enter the place in my navigation system for the route and look at it in google maps now when i'm home and still have time and don't have my head full of other things like it surely will be the case at the gig. of course it'd be great if we could chat in vigevano as well. but i love having planned as many things as possible before i start my trip.
  11. thank you marina! hmm, nice is the more current one, would probably miss underwater then... well, i'll see what i think after luzern.
  12. something else, could someone of those who know their way around milan (robi? nezza?) please help me with a few tips about how to best get into the city centre? problem is, my bf said he wouldn't recommend driving by car into milano, that traffic is crazy there and that it'd probably take me longer than by train. i'm trying not to lose too much time, as we have to go back to munich that day, so we don't want to leave much later than necessary. is there something like a park&ride somewhere a bit outside where it's easy to get to by car, and then take the metro into the town centre? preferably a bit in the north-west, so i can quickly get to the A8/A9 afterwards. i have a navigation system so it shouldn't be a problem finding the way, i just want to avoid crazy traffic, or too many tiny streets & one-way-streets where i might get lost if one of them is closed. i guess the cost would probably be similar for a metro ticket vs. paying for a car park in the city?
  13. wasn't that in an american tv show? there were studio guests sitting around and mika was talking to the presenter. i have no time for researching, but maybe that helps someone who has time... maybe i mix it up though and in that show he just said that SITM was about the women in his family... i just remember it because i think it was the first time i heard him say what SITM was about. i'm shocked about how far away the crowd is on that picture on the previous page!
  14. yeah, i've been wondering about the numbers too, where did you hear about nice? i scanned through the reports of the french gigs but couldn't find anything. i wouldn't be bothered about the festival thing as this is more or less just a mika gig... but as john isn't there, it probably will be the same chaos as in compiegne so that if we do numbers, it would just be "internal" for those who are there already a few hours before the doors open. btw, when *do* the doors open at all? nezza has our tickets, so i have to admit i have NO idea! we'll probably arrive early, as we drive overnight from luzern and can't check in our b&b that early... but i also hope that no one will be at the venue yet at that time so we can sleep a bit in the car, check in our b&b, have a shower, and then get back to the venue. i'm even considering going for the dancers thing and not bothering about front row, but i'll decide that after the luzern gig. i could give out some glowing hearts in the middle/back of the venue then... nina, which songs did you say you missed because of being on stage? of course i wouldn't want to miss happy ending or TOOL... is there a current setlist posted anywhere? i think it's quite different meanwhile from the one that was posted after the tallinn gig...
  15. ah, i didn't know it was on the italian forum too. thanks for the info. ok then i guess it's really fans only, and no press thing like the one in france. another plus for the positive thinking though: they could've said explicitly that mika won't be there, it'd probably save them trouble and keep away fans who only want to come to see mika. but as they didn't... btw, like someone has already pointed out here, i also don't think we're allowed to take any cameras or mobiles ... so i'm afraid you'll only have our opinions in the reports this time, no photos/video/audio.
  16. yay, nina, great to see that you won as well! i agree with suzie here. having been to several m+g's myself where mika got mobbed, i understand your concerns robi. but firstly, i think it's only the 10 random facebook fans we might have to worry about, but the MFCers shouldn't be the problem, and we are twice as many (though of course i don't know who everyone is taking as their +1...). besides, i could think of several scenarios where it wouldn't be a problem even if the 10 facebook winners were crazy screaming kiddie fans, for example if mika came in only after we finished listening, or if it wasn't just fans but also press, then i think they'd behave too. the reasons why i have a feeling that mika might be there are a) the secret location, not even us winners know it yet! and b) that they "only" invite 30 fans... if mika wasn't there, i guess it wouldn't be a problem to invite 50 fans or even more. although yes ok, 30 is many already, in either case... but still... well, i just can't help being an optimist. and i'd definitely concentrate on the music, even if mika sat right next to me (ok maybe not TOO close...), since i will have seen mika on monday and tuesday, but never heard those songs before! remember, mika steals your brain. i also hope we can tell our opinion on the songs to mika or to someone of his team, maybe with a questionnaire. of course i also came to like songs that i didn't like at first, but most of my favourites i loved at the first hearing. and it's also important for a song that people like it and keep it in mind when they first hear it, because then it also works on the radio. and if not on the other songs, i think we can at least have an opinion on the recorded versions of tool, lola and underwater, as we know the live versions already, so it's not SO much new info to take in. btw, i hope someone who knows latin will listen closely to the latin part of the recorded version of tool, maybe there it's finally understandable...
  17. yeah, i'm wondering too... ... maybe it's too far in the countryside and they have no mobile connection inside the venue?
  18. usually, security will decide based on whether the scissors could be used to hurt someone. any weapons, or things that could be used as a weapon (e.g. glass bottles or cans), aren't allowed. so it depends on the scissors.
  19. hmm, it's a good idea, and if you tried it and it works, then it's perfect! i just tried it, but the straws i have here are too small. you probably get all kinds of different sizes for straws... is it also possible to fix the straw-pieces to a stick tightly? did you use hard plastic straws or soft plastic ones? i wonder what you mean about the tension though... for my hearts it's much bigger at the lower end. anyway, i'm happy if you tried it and it works... i can't buy straws now to try it as i'm busy most of the day tomorrow, but if they work, bring some, then we can take them once we run out of connectors. i don't think the scissors would be a problem... your hotel is nearby, right? and my car isn't too far away either... we just have to figure out once how long they have to be, cut them all, and then put the scissors in the hotel or car.
  20. yes, i found a pack with 70 wooden sticks at woolworth today, for 1 euro. they're a bit like those icecream sticks, just coloured. and i also bought 30 rolls of tape there for 3 euro altogether. so if enough people bring glowsticks and connectors, i think we can make something out of that. that's great, thank you! remember though that we need twice as many connectors as glowsticks... so with 40 connectors and 20 glowsticks we can make 10 hearts. guess we'll have many connector-less glowsticks left in the end.
  21. same here. looks like we'll be lucky with the weather, my forecast says sunny but only up to 25°C - so it won't be boiling hot. only 5 more days!! :pbjt:
  22. it wouldn't help, everyone would just want to see the original and not the clones! so it'd just confuse us fans, we'd have one more thing to figure out - which one's the original?! :mikadas:
  23. he can stand in the 2nd row right behind you.
