  1. just booked my flight. now i need a place to stay... where do you find those 19 pounds rooms? on the travelodge website it tells me 52 pounds per night... is anyone of those with a spare place in their room staying from sat-tues? i found a hostel for about 15 pounds per night (per person), but it would be more fun to stay at the "mfc hotel" of course, especially since it's even cheaper if it's 19 pounds per ROOM!
  2. ah interesting, in german it's called "eierlikör", and leo.org gives me the translation advocaat for it. but guess it's a brand name, isn't it? here the most popular one is verpoorten, guess that's also dutch. as i said before, i love the aprés-ski-drink hot advocaat with whipped cream, not for old ladies at all, lol! but i always quite liked it, got a little sip every year at new year's eve when i was a child, and i loved it! much more than the champagne that the grown-ups in my family drank. yeah, as violet said, we have that too... but i prefer feuerzangenbowle, it's quite similar but i prefer the taste and find it funny that it burns: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feuerzangenbowle
  3. ooh, only just seen it, you only notice when you look closely but my photoshop "art" made it into your siggy, yay! but tomatos are good and healthy, much better than tires anyway! tomato! not tire!! i have proof!
  4. don't know about the brits, but i've never tried eggnog... don't think we have it here, we only have advocaat, but my online research tells me that it's not the same as eggnog. and it's not typical for christmas in germany either... but last year on my skiing holiday in italy i've tried "vov", which basically is hot advocaat with whipped cream, and that was soo delicious! i can't imagine him doing an album full of covers, or even just mainly consisting of covers. i just hope he sings 1-2 different xmas songs on the radio every year, so in a few years we can put together our very own mika xmas album.
  5. *is eating tangerine and apple with cinnamon, sniffing clove and listening to let it snow while wondering how romantic the "romantic as a barstool" really is, when he sings songs like this and has a fireplace in his flat* i love christmas!
  6. it's "kiss goodnight", not "say goodnight" at least in mika's version, but think in the original song as well.
  7. "what have you been chewing on this morning?!" - omg this is hilarious!! and 11 suitcases, wow! but now we know where that "eaten a rainbow" quote comes from, think i've seen it before somewhere. love it! thanx for the interview and video mari!
  8. have only read the first of the twilight novels so far, but i think i already can say that i definitely prefer potter. maybe not even because of the characters, i must admit that twilight is a brilliant idea as well... but stephanie mayer just doesn't have the genius of jk rowling, it's nice and funny to read and makes me want to know the rest of the story, yes... but all the suspense (over all the 7 parts) and dangers and secrets and mysteries and surprising twists and turns that make the potter books as fantastic as they are, are missing in twilight. i think stephanie mayer could've made much more of the original idea.
  9. aww, i love it! it's already on repeat on my player, and probably will be every day until christmas! i could say it's one of my fave xmas songs, but then, i have about 10 faves, lol! anyway, i absolutely love his version, want mooore xmas songs by him! well ok i'm happy with one for now, and if he does another one every year, i can build a nice new xmas playlist over the next few years. OMG i'm so happy and excited now, just about this little song, can you believe it?!
  10. really? oh well, i only looked into very few threads on here while i was in the US, guess that's why i missed that you also want to come and are still looking for a ticket... one reason more to go for me, would be nice to meet you again! i already thought you had completely abandoned mika, as i haven't seen you on here for ages. but just been on different threads i guess...
  11. damn! the bad thing about it is, others often know what i'll be doing before i know it myself! i tell you, this feels weird! i should make the mfc my personal fortune teller.
  12. looking for 1 (ga standing) ticket for the sold-out amsterdam show.
  13. oooh,i want one of those lions, they're so cute and fluffy, and colourful and glittery - but especially fluffy!!
  14. over the past few weeks i have watched some youtube stuff that slowly got me towards wanting to go to this gig... and today watching the crowd reactions from the sydney show, the we are golden singing and all, thinking that the atmosphere in amsterdam will probably be at least as hot as it was in sydney, i really wanna go now! so ok, sold out... but if anyone has a spare ticket, please let me know... and if at that time the flights or trains are still cheap enough, i guess i'll be there...
  15. i love his hair in those, looks so soft! (bluesky, you forgot to transfer the post with those pix into the new thread... )
  16. yeah, fits better in this case than fluffy, doesn't it? not much fluff there today... wonder why, i can't imagine why on earth he wouldn't like the nickname fluffy! ... but on one of the other pix that were posted, his hair looks a bit fluffier, so there's still hope for da fluff. thanx everyone for pix, videos and reports! i like that huge video screen, especially mika dancing in front of that light circle at the beginning of touches you! wonder whether we'll see that screen again on the european tour... talking about touches you, he still does those moves that he started in LA, not as often anymore but they're still there, niicccee!!
  17. haha,i had to look up that expression on leo.org, but now it makes sense! lol, what a smart way of mika saying something like this without actually saying it. is that a common way to talk around this phrase, or did he make that up? btw, why do you (and him) say he's running through the forest like jack sparrow? because of the arm waving? guess i gotta watch pirates of the caribbean again...
  18. ah that's good to hear, thanx buzzbuzz! i've just started wondering whether you were supposed to register with your mikasounds e-mail-address... it only says mikasounds username on the site, i used this, but a different e-mail-address, and i'm not sure whether i got any magic numbers for the rain remix thing at all yet. i definitely didn't get any yet for the last 2 remixes i made (one today, one 2 days ago), as i started keeping track of my magic numbers now. do you all have your magic numbers (the 1000 for a start and 100 per remix) yet? how long does it usually take until you get the 100 for a remix? anyway, my remix number 8 and 9 (link to all see my signature) are called "mika by the campfire" - which doesn't involve much creativity, it's just voice and acoustic guitar, but it sounds so beautiful - and "rain in may" - a lot of keyboard sound, quite acoustic as well... but i'm starting to run out of unique ideas tbh, it doesn't really have a theme like most of my other remixes, i just wanted to call a song "rain in may", because i like that song by max werner. talking of which, just watched the videoclip for it on youtube ( ), omg, this is almost as bad as that david hasselhoff video! :lmfao: but well, the song is nice, really 80s...
  19. thanx for the pix and reports! lol @ the hat! and those lions, wow, i love them! - fluffy!!
  20. thanx! there's another one from the 2nd user which also includes the beginning of GK - so funny at about 0:50 mika gets the high note on the piano wrong again, and goes like "uh-oh!", LOL!! cool! i hadn't even seen him on the pic until you mentioned! sir fluffington! btw, about tonight's gig, jimmy posted something about dancing lions... can't wait to hear reports + see more pix!
  21. just posted by IMMA on twitter: Thanks Hong Kong!! You have taken my breathe away!! What a show!!! Mika was brilliant!!!!
  22. ooh, a WHITE piano! and that wall painting and posters are really fab, i'm sure he loved it! i couldn't imagine them ever doing something like that in germany. ok my school time was more than 10 years ago, but back then, "school" and "fun" were two words that were meant to exclude each other. it must be hard though for the students who hate mika, to see his face and name everywhere in the school now.
