  1. It is truly a masterpiece in songwriting. I love that Mika wasn't afraid to make the album "big" and the songs "big". I love that this song builds, and the voices grow and get louder, and combine with the orchestra to create something so powerful and beautiful. Mika is so talented it intimidates me. His songs are better than anything else in the music biz right now. Which makes me both excited and scared for the second album.
  2. *is grossed out by the barf discussion and is hoping it ends soon* (Although I hope you feel better!) Ice cream. One of the most amazing foods ever created. I just bought a container of Ben & Jerry's ode to John Lennon "Whirled Peace" ice cream. So delicious. That's not odd as well. I know someone else that eats grilled cheese that way. I think his next blog should be all about his fav foods. He says we don't want to know what he eats for breakfast? Well, we do! (And lunch, and dinner...so in our crazy fan minds we know what to cook for him when our dreams come true and he stops by our house.) Puppy chow is SOOO fantastic!! My friends and I were obsessed with it when I was younger. We made it all the time--every get-together, sleepover, party, etc. That snack is amazing. I need to make it again...and soon!
  3. Oh, tea! I love it, and drink it almost every day! Chai tea is amazing, and lately I really love making black tea of some sort (English Breakfast or whatnot) and then adding a little warm vanilla soymilk and honey. Really good. I also really like this Vanilla Red Tea they have at the cafe in the bookstore where I work. It's so amazing--and a really vibrant color!
  4. Hmmm, kind of like me and the Midway State. They were at almost every show on the early 2008 tour...except Toronto. I did not like our opening act AT ALL and so wished it could have been Midway State. So cool she opened for Mika during the summer, though! I would have loved to see a show then!
  5. I'm wondering the same thing. I didn't know she opened for Mika last year! We play her album at work all the time. A lot of people are tired of hearing "Love Song" but I haven't heard it very much yet, so I still think it's great! LG, I didn't know "Love Song" was a Starbucks Song of the Week. Wish I had known that before I bought it on iTunes.
  6. Can you imagine? It would be so beautiful and colorful--and the music would be fantastic! You know, I never thought about that. I can't really see him getting married at the moment...but then again, we haven't seen him with anyone. Haha, all I can think of is that 70s-looking picture of Mika with "his kids". Someone posted in awhile back. But oh my gosh, the marriage/baby rumors never end!
  7. Wow, your sister is amazing! Maybe she should team up with Yasmine and Mika for the second album artwork. Yes! Lollipop, Big Girl, and the big "M"!
  8. Whoa, add me to the list of MFCers who had no idea an Australian Mikasounds existed! I'm surprised he didn't do an official tour there considering they went to the trouble of building an Aussie webpage.
  9. *does a dance* Deutsch ist uber cool. (And yes you can laugh at my attempts at German.) Really, it's so fun! And don't worry, I'm good at asking questions. Thank you! (Danke!)
  10. Whoa, he is gorgeous! Love a man in a kilt. (Although oddly enough, I cannot envision Mika in one.) I honestly have no idea. I don't even know what he likes, or dislikes. Something Celtic sounds good, though. A Celtic knot keychain. (Or maybe not...)
  11. *jumps into thread and begins lurking* I just found this thread, and I think I'll lurk for a bit and see if I still remember any German from school. I took it for 7 years, studied abroad there, and then promptly forgot everything. I can't write German to save my life, but I can read some of it. It's kind of exciting to see a German thread here. Sooo...don't mind me. Carry on.
  12. Those pants are amazing. I really want a pair. Thank you!!!
  13. Thanks for the link! So...those are really cool. (And weird.) How famous do I have to be to get my own caricature drawn by him?
  14. Hmmm, I'm curious about this, too.
  15. Same here. It takes a lot of energy to be completely obsessed.
  16. I am waaay too indecisive for a tattoo (I'm more for the temporary stick-on ones ) but that is very well-done. You should show Mika next time he tours. He'll be amazed. (Or maybe he'll read this thread!)
  17. Oh, I love Josh! My cousin is a HUGE Josh Groban fan, and he's a member of his fanclub and everything. (Friends of Josh Groban I think it's called.) Anyways, Josh fans are hardcore. Kind of like us! I saw him in concert a few years ago and it blew me away. Not only was his singing phenomenal and flawless, but he was so adorable and funny interacting with the audience. Oddly enough, one of my friends from high school went to Interlochen with him, and they became friends. She came into school one day and showed his interview on the Rosie O'Donnell show. She said, "This is my friend Josh. He's going to be famous." And she was right! Not many people knew who he was then. They sure do now! It would be fun to be a hardcore Josh fan, but my heart is with Mika--and the MFC.
  18. Were you doing this on your island off the coast of Mexico? Oh God, when I read you were in the USA, I immediately thought, "He's been planning things with Mika there!" since Mika's been in the US for a couple of weeks, too. Apparently I think you have super-Mika-powers. So...does this mean we can still expect Mika-related things to happen on the MFC? I'm not even sure what I'm expecting anymore! And I'm very glad you're not leaving the MFC. You're not allowed to.
  19. I was also wondering exactly what websites were getting the revamp. Maybe he'll update both Mikasounds and the MFC.
  20. :roftl: Just as a side note... Why do so many people ask "What's a Mika?" as opposed to "Who is Mika?" Every time I mention I love Mika, people always ask me "What's a Mika?" Drives me crazy! After reading Mika's blog post, I went to Tegan & Sara's MySpace page and listened to the songs they have posted there. I'm not blown away, but I think I'd get used to their music if I listened more than once. I hope Mika enjoyed their concert!
  21. Wow! I feel like I just got a taste of what it was like to be a Mika fan at the beginning of last year. A REAL blog from the man himself, not this "Mikasounds" entity. Yay, Mika! I can't wait to see what he's planning for the blog/website/etc. *does a dance* <--Just had to use that one. I can't dance much better than that. Haha, obviously we were thinking along the same lines. Maybe it's better he didn't. We'd be bombarded with new fans. The MFC would crash.
  22. That makes me so happy. You keep on riding that train, Mika.
  23. Cool! I knew her name sounded familiar. I used to watch Star Trek all the time with my dad when I was younger. My dad was totally in love with ST:V and he's crushed there aren't any new ST shows on now. (There is a movie in the works, though.)
