  1. Ooh, no, I haven't seen 'Tristan' - I like what I've seen/heard of/by Patrick Wolf (although I don't actually know much about his music to be honest - I saw him live once and thought he was really good). I'm going to have to check this video out - thanks for the heads-up!
  2. Received my ticket today (from Ticketmaster) - don't know why, but wasn't expecting to receive it for weeks yet! Not complaining, it was a lovely surprise to open the envelope and to have the physical ticket in my mitts!
  3. I'm still blown away by this video. I'm really showing my age here, LOL, but I've concluded that it is very much in the same vein stylistically as video's from the 1980's (the New Romantics era) - groups like Ultravox ('Vienna' - very mysterious atmosphere, heavy with meaning), Duran Duran ('Hungry Like The Wolf' - I think - crazy coloured 'creature/s'), Spandau Ballet, Human League etc etc etc. The vids of those groups and others were often telling stories in a slightly oblique way - they were often, I suppose to today's eyes, quite cinematic/arty/possibly, depending upon your point of view, a bit over the top, 'artsy-fartsy'/pretentious. I'm not saying Mika's vid is over the top or pretentious, I loved the vids in the 80's, and I think the 'Rain' vid is totally refreshing compared to the identikit music vid's that are around at the moment. It's totally beautiful - can't stop watching it!
  4. OMG, yes, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks his running is really lovely to watch! I commented that on my post in the thread about 'Rain' being the next single. I agree, it must have something to do with his long legs, makes him look rather elegant. Being tall and gangly, he could have been one of those people that runs like a drunken elk (to use his own expression) - some tall people can seem very ungainly and uncoordinated at times when doing anything 'sporty' (says a very short person - now going to get all the tall people telling me I'm talking rubbish, LOL!). Fortunately, he is one those tall guys who CAN run well, without it looking comical and like he's going to trip over his own feet! I LOVE this video - rain would have been good (), but I guess that would have been too obvious for Mika! And he looks delicious.....
  5. I'm really pleased 'Rain' will be his next release - although I love all the songs on TBWKTM, I much prefer 'Rain' to 'BIOTG's' - I think it will make a much better second single. And the vid is just Random thing to say, but he runs beautifully - very fluidly and elegantly! Like poetry in motion...!
  6. Yes, I agree, it was the second message he responded to, but I'm still wondering why he would bother to respond to someone who might have just made something up (about meeting his girlfriend - if, indeed, this is a fabrication!) ie in the earlier tweet he was sent by this person. I suppose the obvious answer is that it could just be that he gets so many messages he can't remember who may have sent him stupid/erroneous/misleading etc etc etc tweets previously, and so he could easily end up responding to a subsequent tweet from a person he might otherwise avoid replying to (because to respond in any way would be an affirmation from him of this person's comments...) I'm analysing this WAY too much, LOL!! It's just 'cos I'm jealous that this twitterer got a response!
  7. Oh, I've just commented on this on the Twitter update thread - very intriguing I must say! Why would Mika feel inclined to reply 'Yo' to this Twitterer if it was all just b******t?? He'd have just ignored it surely?? The plot thickens!
  8. Okay, has anyone else seen this? Mika has tweeted 'Yo' to someone and, because I'm incredibly nosey (actually can't believe I'm admitting to doing this as it does seem rather stalkerish now I think of it ) I clicked on the username to see what it was that s/he had tweeted to him to have elicited a response from him. The original tweet from this Twitterer to Mika was along the lines of telling him s/he'd bumped into his girlfriend somewhere. There's also a tweet from someone to this Twitterer asking him/her to say who Mika's girlfriend is - but the Twitterer didn't say, just something like, she's just a girl. Just thought it was interesting - but maybe that's just me?? I know we have to take these things with a pinch of salt... But, it would be nice if his partner is with him on this tour anyway, whatever.
  9. Haven't visited this thread for ages, just don't seem to have the time to go onto every thread I'm interested in, these days! So am rather out of the loop - however, just read the last few posts and see that there seems to be some controversy over whether or not there is some sort of conspiracy? Is that right? Anyway, just visiting to say am really excited to be going to see the film 'This Is It' - I know it's not anything like the same as seeing MJ live or what the final finished show would have been like, but it will at least give an idea of the amazing spectacle that it would have been. Strangely enough, don't ask me why, I didn't even know about this film until today when I heard it mentioned on the radio!!
  10. I've also booked a room at Battersea Travelodge so if anyone needs to share then let me know...Blimey, at this rate we'll take over the whole hotel, LOL! Does anyone know, will it be okay for us to check-in so late in the evening (after the gig)? Don't want to potentially end up losing my room 'cos they think I'm a 'no-show' so wondering if I should pay the supplement to be able to check in early...? What's everyone else doing?
  11. A lovely idea! Please could my username be added to it too?? Thank you!
  12. Yes, I was at Latitude - right at the front pinned to the barrier ! My son and daughter ended up much further back in the Uncut Tent during Mika's set and didn't get to see very much (even though they're taller than me). Nothing worse than ending up looking at people's backs - almost might as well not be there, plus it's just very claustrophobic! I think I'm going to have to wear 'platforms' at Hammersmith! And no, I didn't meet Mika afterwards at Latitude - don't know why, I didn't even think of trying to catch him after his set - well, not strictly true, but I didn't know how/where to go about doing it, so didn't give it much thought - I'm such a novice at this sort of thing, I think I need to be with some 'pro's' at this "waiting-to-meet-Mika-after-gigs" stuff!
  13. OMG, I absolutely LOVE that flag above his bed! I'd assumed it was a 'one-off' design with a correspondingly high 'exclusive' price tag - but how fantastic to know you can buy it and it's actually a bargain at just £700! (I'm joking by the way! )
  14. I'm not in London but it's the closest one to me. I'd love to go to one of the European gigs - lucky you going to Vienna! Hell, why not go to 7 gigs if you can? If I could go to 7 gigs, believe me, I would!!
  15. Not silly at all - now wondering myself which other gig/s I might be able to get to, but unfortunately, at the mo anyway, am not sure I'll be able to make it to any of the others
  16. I've got my ticket, YYYYYAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!! Having ummed and aaahed about whether to go for seated or standing for a nano-second (I thought it rather civilised being able to rock up at 6.30pm and have an allocated seat at Sadlers) I decided almost immediately to go for standing this time round. I seemed to spend most of the gig at Sadlers standing and dancing anyway (with my kids constantly telling me to sit down as I was embarassing them, LOL - this time I'm going alone so I can be as fangurly as I like!!) and I could see all the MFC'ers at the front standing and dancing and having a blast so it was a no-brainer this time round to go for standing at Hammersmith. Thing is, I'm so short, if I don't get to the front I won't see a bloody thing!! I loved being at the front at Latitude - it was awesome!!! I'm also really looking forward to meeting you guys!
  17. Panic over, Jazzy - I've got my ticket, YAYYYYYYY!!!!!
  18. Oh cool, I liked what (admittedly little) I've heard of Gary Go's music - I did wonder at the time if he might be an artist Mika might like too in time...
  19. Although I checked late last night to see if more presale tix had become available for London it still said 'sold out' so will need to get hold of my ticket tomorrow...but, again, I won't be able to get online all day...reeaalllyyy worried I'll miss out completely! So frustrating!
