  1. The website said that although you had to have registered for tix there were still some tix left for some dates so suggested people ring to find out what dates still had tix available. I rang the number given on the Little Noise website for buying tickets late this afternoon to check the situation for the Mika one on 18th and the woman I spoke to confirmed that it hadn't sold out and tix are still available. She didn't say how many they had left. I didn't actually buy a ticket as I still need to decide whether I can actually make it, I was really at this stage trying to find out if the event was sold out. I didn't get the impression there would be any prob with just buying one over the phone (never got the need to register anyway, what was that all about??), but I don't know for sure as I didn't buy one. Best to just give it a try and see if you're after one....
  2. Yes, I love the video - it's visually weird but stunning - great 'look' to it and love the costumes. I like the song a lot too, and I think it'll continue to grow on me.
  3. Absolutely I agree he may just not feel like tweeting which is fine . I do think it's possible to be both concerned as to why he hasn't tweeted AND also 'giving him a break'. Speaking for myself, I have very deliberately (other than one jokey tweet a few days ago ie 'long time no hear' type of thing but mentioning hoping his foot was getting better) NOT harassed him begging him to tweet or asking why he isn't or where he is or telling him how much I miss him etc... When I've tweeted him it's been about general things of relevance to him just as before. I've consciously kept my concerns about his lack of tweets between myself and those who follow me on Twitter and/or on MFC. Even though I haven't personally been doing the 'Please tweet!/I miss you' type tweets to him, I can understand why others might be, in the circumstances (I would just say I agree he shouldn't be bombarded with those tweets tho' as it may be counter-productive). As I say, he might have avoided some of the gazillion 'Please tweet/I miss you' tweets if he'd just briefly said he was not going to be on Twitter for a period of time (specified or unspecified) instead of this sudden mysterious disappearance.. And, of course, I'm aware as he's not tweeting he probably isn't even reading the tweets he's sent either... As sariflor says, I suppose the main thing is we know he's alive and well...thank heavens for small mercies!
  4. I don't want Mika to feel obligated to tweet either - I don't expect (or particularly want) him to tweet banal stuff like 'It's cold today' or 'I'm drinking a coffee now' or whatever, because I know that's not 'him' and what he wants to use Twitter for... BUT, it's odd that he's had lots going on recently but not 'reminded' us of them via Twitter as he would have done before... My point was that he has tweeted fairly regularly and so this absence is rather unusual which made me (and others too) concerned as to the reason for this sudden 'disappearance'. If he had ALWAYS been a very infrequent tweeter then we wouldn't be worried by this lack of tweets from him for such a long period, but the fact is he did tweet reasonably regularly until now. Yes, I know Stephen Fry realised he'd overreacted and began tweeting again - I was just hoping that something similar hadn't happened to Mika - ie, that he's been upset/angered/p****d off by something/one and just decided to stop tweeting. If that's the case, I was just hoping it was temporary and not going to be permanent. However, I agree, I think he does (DID!) enjoy tweeting and also it's a useful marketing tool for him, so I don't imagine he'll give up Twittah completely. My feeling is that if he'd tweeted briefly to say he was going to take a break from Twitter (to rest or because he was bored of it or whatever the reason, or even NO reason) then we would all understand and respect that. (As it is, he's probably getting loads of confused/worried fans tweeting him to ask how he is/where he is/why he isn't tweeting etc). It worries me that he just stopped tweeting so suddenly and unexpectedly - that's why I wonder if something has upset him. I (of course) really hope I'm wrong, but I can't help but worry that is the case in the absence of either any tweets or explanation from him. He'll probably tweet tonight now and I'll wonder what I was worrying about after all!
  5. If he's tired and/or not feeling too good obviously I wouldn't want him to write loads (eg a blog, much as I'd love one of those!) but just one 'Yo' would've been good in the last day or two... I just worry that it's not that he's (understandably) tired but that, like Stephen Fry, something/someone (not an MFC'er of course!! LOL) has p****d him off so he's decided to stop tweeting indefinitely?? I hope it's not that! Don't want him to be ill either, of course, but at least that's just a temporary thing whereas the other scenario may go on for much longer (or, worst case scenario, although hopefully unlikely as it's useful to him, he might give up Twittah altogether??! ) Missing you Mika!!!!!!
  6. The version of WAG he did for this was just gawjus !! In fact loved all the songs, they were great - watched with older son who also enjoyed them. Now watching it all again!
  7. I'd forgotten this wasn't actually LIVE but had been filmed a while ago - there was me thinking that we'd get to see how his foot injury was looking now!
  8. Totally agree - the R&B singer/rappers are so dominant in the charts and they really do all sound the bloody same. I'm not overly surprised Mika didn't win mainly because of the dominance of the R&B guys on the radio/TV - but, if the EMA's were restricted to just European artists then they wouldn't have been able to be nominated in the first place in the EMA's. Or, as already said, if voting was restricted to only citizens of the continent holding the Award ceremony then I reckon Mika would've stood a significant chance - as it was, I agree, he was probably up against massive numbers of votes for the R&B singers from their US fans (I acknowledge they do also have European fans too!). But, like others I AM surprised that of the R&B singers nominated it was Eminem who won - I've never GOT him. Although I suspected Mika wouldn't win (for the reasons mentionned above) I just hoped against hope that he might win - what a coup that would've been against the dominance of the likes of JayZ etc!!! But it wasn't to be...all too predictable.
  9. Whoa! I actually know about this televised/viewable gig BEFORE it's happened and NOT after, LOL! (Having very carelessly missed the notices about the live feed from the Baden Baden gig on the 2/11 until it was too late! D'oh!) Can't wait to watch this; apart from anything else, I want to see how he's doing with that foot injury of his...
  10. Fingers and toes crossed for Mika for tomorrow night.....
  11. You're bad, bad girls leading me astray like this when I come onto this thread all innocently to post something about accomodation but end up getting seriously distracted by "Christmas Lists" and THAT video, which of course I just HAD to watch again, LOL!!! (Holy s**t, if he does those moves to 'Touches You' at the Hammersmith gig I'll need to be scraped up off the floor afterwards... ) Aaanyyways, what was I going to say? Ah yes, I've booked a family room at the Battersea Travelodge for 28/2/10, so if anyone needs accomodation that night, the offer's there...
  12. Yes, I agree with GK - it was ground-breaking and prob stands best chance. (But I love all the other songs listed too!)
  13. I still can't believe that I managed to miss that this was happening - that'll teach me not to come onto MFC for a couple of days (not that I didn't want to, just haven't had much time lately)! Also managed to miss seeing the tweets about this being streamed live too until after the event. Gutted to have missed the opportunity of seeing Mika performing live, especially as, judging by the comments on this thread, he was in good form in spite of having an audience (from what I've read on here) that didn't seem to visibly/audibly appreciate him as much as he deserves! So, thanks very much Kaatje for uploading the show, you're a star - I'll see if I can watch it now.
  14. After previously voting in 20's and 50's I voted 100 times in one go a few days ago and was then told I'd 'exceeded my voting allowance'. I tried again the next day and still couldn't vote for the same reason, but then when I next tried again (yesterday?) after that I was able to vote again and did so 100 times. Now, am getting the same 'exceeded my allowance' message. Might have to try voting from my desktop PC rather than my lappie...Want to keep up the momentum on this vote as it's nearly coming to an end!!
  15. I love all these designs - I'm already hinting to the kids that I want one for Christmas, and then it's my birthday not long after that so maybe I'll ask for another...!! Can't decide which I like best, they're all GAWJUS!
  16. I saw today (I receive emails from SeeTickets and Ticketmaster) that Lady Gaga is touring next year and really, really want to see her live too. The ideal gig for me would be one in London but her dates in London are the Friday or Saturday before Mika's gig in Hammersmith which I'm going to on the Sunday evening. I'm not sure I'm up to 2 late nights so close to each other (I'm getting old!) - also, I don't know whether to save the money I'd spend on a ticket seeing LG in case I can see Mika again as I'd prefer to do that (obviously!!)! (But no guarantee that Mika will do another gig later in the year which I'd be able to get to anyway, so then I'd have missed out on seeing LG ). Decisions, decisions....
  17. Thank you for the pics of the finished belt and the one of Mika receiving it. The belt looks amazing - well done!! And thank you so much for adding my name too. Lovely to think that, when he wears it, we'll all be kind of giving him a 'hug' around his hips!!
  18. I think this is overall a positive review - it sounds as if the reviewer has given Mika and the album a lot of consideration and come out thinking the right thing - ie, and I'm paraphrasing here - that he/the album is really good, LOL! Thanks for posting it!!
  19. I've kept out of this but honestly, can't not say anything any longer, which is just simply, if you're still around, please stop being so offensive.
  20. I booked my tickets to see 'This Is It' days ago, going to see it next Tuesday - my whole family is seeing it with me as we all love MJ. I so can't wait to see it - the trailer alone looks freaking amazing, I can only imagine the whole film will be fantastic. I know I'll have very mixed feelings when I come out afterwards - on the one hand I will have been wowed by just what a genius he was but on the other just so sad and emotional that this concert was never to be and that he's gone... I guess we all just have to focus on the positive and remember him as the greatest showman on earth (as this film will testify) rather than dwell on what we have lost.
  21. I LOVE this review - thanks so much for posting it. The reviewer really seems to 'get' Mika and therefore to really appreciate Mika's art and style of performing. He's got it bang on. I particularly love the bit where he comments upon Mika's seeming to physically draw his fans in by leaning out to them etc rather than distancing himself from them like other performers do. But has he really torn tendons in his ankle/foot? Isn't that much worse than a sprain?? Poor Mika!
  22. Hey billy, how's it going?

  23. Not at work, in house alone, thought I might watch a DVD curled up on sofa with open fire going, cup of tea, chocolate. But can't find the disc for 'Atonement' so on MFC instead - simple pleasures!
