(preface: I really enjoy copy editing wikipedia and have some experience with its community) Despite Wikipedia's reputation for being untrustworthy (and it sort of is, as yes, it can be edited by everyone), the community that does most of the editing on Wikipedia and is mostly responsible for keeping it factual is very uptight. They see themselves as upholding a very serious responsibility - which they kind of do, but they can take it far too seriously sometimes. They can be extremely haughty and unkind and it doesn't surprise me that they were semi-rude to you. They're rude to everyone, and I'm very sorry you had to deal with that. Looking at the talk page, I don't think the person who responded to you was saying that articles in French or Italian were untrustworthy - I think they were saying that they didn't feel comfortable THEMSELVES using them as sources because they didn't speak French or Italian, and were concerned that they might say some info came from a certain French or Italian source when in reality the person editing the article misunderstood the French/Italian. Basically, they just didn't want their own lack of understanding of the language to cause incorrect info. The point of their second response is that the wording of the BBC2 stuff sounds like it's written as an advertisement. Wikipedia has very strict rules about wording, and things that sound like ads are not allowed and get removed fast. That's also why Mika's people might not have fixed it themselves - Wikipedia actually really dislikes people or their representatives editing their own pages for conflict-of-interest reasons. Because we're all Mika experts here () I think we can safely use and cite articles even in languages we don't or barely speak, because we know already what they're trying to say and will know when things are wrong. A lot of the writing and adding citations done by any of us would be writing from memory and looking for citations after the fact, which is perfectly fine and also means we'll know what's accurate. Of course it pains me to say it, but I don't expect that the English language version of Mika's Wiki page is one that the over-zealous Wikipedia fact checkers will be paying too much attention to, so I think it's perfectly okay for anyone on this forum who feels up to the task to correct the info/add info to Mika's wiki page, as long as it is cited/sourced. If we need to cite French/Italian, I think we're safe to do so without anyone coming after us because they're concerned that the info is not correct for what's in the citation because they don't speak the language. (sadly) I don't think that anyone is going to go over the sources with a fine toothed comb. To be completely clear, I'm not saying info should be added without citations. Only that we're all knowledgeable enough on the topic to safely write from articles even if we don't 100% understand the language, and that the article is under the radar enough that no one will drill us on whether we understood the sources perfectly. in other words, whoever knows their way around wikipedia and feels up to it, have at that article please! I might take a look at it myself later, when I finish my photography homework Edit for aftertought: anyone here who speaks both french and english very well should take a crack at Jenifer's wiki - her french wikipedia page is very long, well written and detailed, but the english one is only a few paragraphs long and has very poor grammar. If my french was better I would do it myself!)

I second this - what little Italian I understand is usually enough to get what's happening when there's visuals to help but the monologues are a mystery to me, and this is the part I'm most curious about. I have absolutely no idea what Mika was saying but I would really love to know.

Finished the ep last night and am still wowed! Gregory was...a surprise I love him already though. I'm literally unspeakably happy this is back on. This show gives me a kind of happiness that I struggle to articulate, and seems to put me in a long term good mood. I know I'm going to be in a generally nice mood for all of the next month. Luciana is a darling human. I was laughing so hard at her and Dita together, if there was an "are you more Dita or Luciana" questionnaire I think I would be pretty solidly Luciana. I was sending my best friend shapchats and laughing hysterically; I don't think I've ever related to someone more than Luciana in that corset with the louboutin scuba flippers

The show was amazing!!! I've only watched the first half so far (I tend to watch them in 2 parts as they're so long and they really need to be slowly appreciated) and I can't wait to watch the second half. It's just as amazing as I expected it to be!

As an American, living in a mikaless desert, I have some complicated feelings about worldwide Casa Mika. I LOVE the idea of broadcasting it in other countries. I am...unsure about REMAKING it for other countries. The language barrier remains the issue here. Because it's only in one language (Italian, though the specific language doesn't really matter), simply re-broadcasting Casa Mika in non-italian speaking countries isn't necessarily plausible. I'm not sure how it is in Europe, but in america getting most people to watch anything with subtitles is like pulling teeth. There are, of course, exceptions, but by and large foreign media doesn't sell in America. Shows re-dubbed in english can do okay, but that usually only really airs on netflix. Airing Casa Mika in another country - France, England, America - would probably require "remaking" or recording a entirely new show, geared specifically towards the country airing it. It really is too big and too wonderful of a thing to keep only in one country, I agree. But I wonder how the show going to other countries would be handled. Would they move the show, or simply duplicate it? If there's two of them at once (Casa Mika Italy and France, for example), are there enough hours in the year to produce, write, etc both of those shows? I guess, simply put, this is my fear: if the show were to be duplicated, while the original still exists, it's now double the work. Double the work means picking up new people to create and write, and picking up new people terrifies me. I suppose I am afraid of "Casa Mika" without Mika; I'm scared of the idea of the show becoming an independent entity but in the process being run by...not-Mika. Casa Mika is a hard brand to make into its own self, it, like summer said, cannot exist without Mika. It's not, in my opinion, like X Factor, which is a format easily copied and pasted to any other country with pre-made roles to cast, and then you just press play (truly nothing against X factor, I know it is an unpopular opinion here but I actually quite like talent shows). The manger's words, "licensing the format", worry me. That doesn't mean selling the show, that means selling the skeleton of the show, and maybe for someone else to build. IMO, the best way to bring Casa Mika to another country is not to copy it, but to move it. End the Italian one and start it France for a year or two, and if it was to be moved to another country, end it in France and move it, in its entirety, to the next place. A long-term tour, kinda. I also like the idea of the show being broadcast by a world-wide service provider like netflix, therefore bringing it everywhere at once, but the problem of what language to record it in remains. I suppose English, since English is a very common second lanuage in France and Italy, and I would imagine that it's more likely that a European audience would watch something that's in English than that a British or American audience would watch something that isn't. But saying "record it in English" feels very English centric, which I don't think is right either (as much as I would love to watch the show in English). To make my point clear, I am ready and waiting to enthusiastically support Mika in whatever he does. Mika doesn't worry me at all. He's never failed me. What worries me is the idea of this concept being in the hands of someone OTHER than Mika. As long as Casa Mika stays in Mika's piano-playing hands I will follow it all over the world. But there's another thought here, and it's a deeply comforting one. I keep thinking, as I write out these worries, of all the time's he's said he's a control freak, all of his projects he had trouble getting off the ground because he refused to change them. Casa Mika is kind of his baby, and I can't see any pressure, from anyone, getting him to release it to someone else's control. And, like I said above - the man has never failed me. To be honest, I wasn't even sure what Casa Mika was going to be like, when it was first announced. Of course, I THOUGHT it would be great, and expected it to be great, but there was (as there always is with anything you look forward to) a tiny unsure voice - what if it's a disaster? What if, somehow, it's not good? But then, of course, the show actually aired. Fast forward to me standing in my room, watching the last episode and literally openly weeping, because I had become so emotionally attached to the show and I was just feeling so many FEELINGS. It's My House, too - it's here and it's WONDERFUL and I am in love with it. Every time I've had so much as a teeny, tiny voice of worry about something Mika's done, when the thing has appeared it's been above and beyond even my best expectations. So in a weird way, I'm gonna semi-disregard all those worries above. I still think they're important things to consider when thinking about remaking the show. But I will be optimistic. Because I trust Mika <3

I copied that first sentence into google translate and then nearly suffocated trying not to laugh out loud in my school library! This is going to be an...interesting season

I really adored Jack. He was so very endearing and cheerful. Lloyd! Lloyd was amazing. That song choice! I really adored Spencer as well. I kinda thought Leon's performance was...very bad. That's my opinion though. Mika was wonderful! It's so nice to hear him judge in English. He's so very good at this kind of job and is so thoughtful and considered <3

"Overs" in X factor refers to the "Over 25" contestants - when they say "Boys" and "Girls" teams what they really mean is "Boys under 25" and "Girls under 25". All the solo contestants who are over 25 get sorted into a mixed-gender team all their own

Does anyone know anything about this "Gregory" who's replacing Sarah? The press release describing him as a prominent actor makes me think he's someone that it's possible someone may already know about or have heard of, but I can't immediately place a man roughly Mika's age named Gregory who is from England and a known or even semi-known actor. An "advanced name search" on IMDB for men named Gregory who were born in England turns up pretty much nothing viable. The major famous English Gregory is Gregory Doran, a Shakespeare director, however he's a director not an actor and is far too old to be a childhood friend of Mika's (born 1958). I'm optimistic of course because Casa Mika always goes above and beyond my best expectations but I really adored Sarah and would love more info on her replacement.

She's only slightly taller than me, actually! For quite some time my friends and I have joked about how strange the height comparison would look if I was standing next to Mika, and now I have (very close) real example (she is actually still slightly taller than me [about 5 cm] so me actually compared to mika is still the funniest mental image) (I am so short)

I thought this too somewhere on the internet there's a photo of a man looking annoyed at a showerhead because it's about the same height as his chin, that one always makes me think of Mika as well The song is so wonderful and joyful, and I love how sweet the lyrics are. I literally cannot get enough of this whole aesthetic and message. I love the colors and the fun of it all, the unabashed joy and the "you're always welcome here" concept. I was literally thinking just a couple days ago that it's been too long since we saw a red suit so I'm thrilled for that too! I'm just really happy with all this. I actually feel on top of my homework. Christmas is coming. Casa Mika is coming.
