Suzy Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 OMG. Things that make you go "Hmmmm...." Debbie Gibson Seeks Restraining Order Against Spanish Man By Raquel Maria Dillon, Associated Press LOS ANGELES — Debbie Gibson filed for a restraining order Tuesday against a Spanish man who runs a fan club and has allegedly followed her on concert tours and showed up at her door.Gibson asked that Bassas Jorge Puigdollers, 44, stay 100 yards away, not attempt to contact her by phone or e-mail, and stop attending her concerts, according to court documents filed in Superior Court. The man, reached by phone in Spain, said he meant no harm. "I wanted to use the fan club to help people who can't go see her to get autographs and photos," he told The Associated Press in Spanish, adding that the correct spelling and order of his name is Jordi Bassas Puigdollers. Gibson claimed Puigdollers has attended all of her "nationwide performances" since 2002, where he often tries to go backstage to see her and get autographs. He also follows her to her hotel room, according to court papers. FIND MORE STORIES IN: Los Angeles | Spain | Spanish | Barcelona | Atlantic City | Superior Court | El Paso | Gibson | Police Department When Puigdollers came to the front door of the Gibson's Los Angeles home Sunday, the 1980s pop star called police "for fear of my life," she wrote in court documents. The Police Department granted Gibson an emergency protective order that expires Friday, according to her court papers. The emergency order allows Puigdollers to get within 10 yards of Gibson at her concerts, but he still must stay at least 100 yards from her home. "I understand that she wants her privacy," said Puigdollers, a taxi driver. "I would like to say I'm sorry. I don't want problems and I don't want to bother her so much." Puigdollers left a note under Gibson's door Thursday suggesting that the two meet in El Paso, according to the singer. "If you like, contact me," he said in a note that was included with the court documents. He signed it with his phone number in Barcelona and an e-mail that begins "debhead." A hearing for Gibson's request was scheduled for May 28. Puigdollers said he was not discouraged by Gibson's attempt to restrict his concert-going. He plans to attend five Gibson concerts at a casino in Atlantic City in May. http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2008-04-15-debbie-gibson_N.htm
Christine Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I'm so glad we're called MFCers and not Debheads.
Mika4Life13 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I'm so glad we're called MFCers and not Debheads. lmfaaaaaaao this is hilarious.
lollipop_monkey Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I'm so glad we're called MFCers and not Debheads. We could be Mikaheads. Debbie Gibson had it easy. She only needed one restraining order. Mika would need what, 500 or so?
Christine Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 We could be Mikaheads. Debbie Gibson had it easy. She only needed one restraining order. Mika would need what, 500 or so? He wouldn't dare bar us from his gigs. The front row would be wandering in 20 minutes into his set instead of queuing from 5 am.
mandilambi Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Debheads. That's the best thing I've heard all day.
lollipopgirl83 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 He wouldn't dare bar us from his gigs. The front row would be wandering in 20 minutes into his set instead of queuing from 5 am. So true...so true...
level28 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 In her place I would be really scared Do you think it really is that bad for Mika?
Blue Sky Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I can just imagine there are a lot of singers/actors etc out there who would really like the same sort of restraining orders against some of their fans! Some people don't see that fine line between adoration and stalking. Or maybe they do see it, and just step right on over it!! Persistence is obviously... not always good from the recipient's side.
sariflor Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I'm so glad we're called MFCers and not Debheads. :roftl: So true He wouldn't dare bar us from his gigs. The front row would be wandering in 20 minutes into his set instead of queuing from 5 am. Again, very true. I know that he must fear us sometimes, and wish for some "time off" us, but I swear that he's glad to see us sometimes...Like at the London Eye Fiat gig. I can assure you that when he saw the support he had out there, from an otherwise quite random and not exactly "die hard" crowd, he actually looked happy as Larry to see us there:mf_rosetinted: .

I got the impression he was happy to see you in Toronto as well, he spent a lot of time right in front of you looking right in to the camera!
IngievV Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 He wouldn't dare bar us from his gigs. The front row would be wandering in 20 minutes into his set instead of queuing from 5 am. Soooo true:naughty: Who is this Debbie Gibson anyways?
AKateisaKate Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I wouldn't want to be a Claymate either. Or a Fanjaya!
Christine Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I wouldn't want to be a Claymate either. Or a Fanjaya! Neither would I, but not because of the names.
sariflor Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I got the impression he was happy to see you in Toronto as well, he spent a lot of time right in front of you looking right in to the camera! You know, I think that's true...When we were waiting for the show to start and chatted to Andy, he told us that he'd said to Mika that there were "regulars" there and that he was happy:wink2:. Or something along those lines anyway! Because it was a small crowd with not that many MFC'ers, especially after the massive Montreal show the night before, he probably felt happy enough to have some of his "usual" support nutters.
lollipopgirl83 Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I wouldn't want to be a Claymate either. Or a Fanjaya! Fanjaya?! I want to be a Claymate! I could say I once was. I was obsessed with him during that season...I've seen him live 5 times.... Which is going to be a great bargaining tool to convince my Mom to let me see Mika again several times...
shoni Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 We could be Mikaheads. Debbie Gibson had it easy. She only needed one restraining order. Mika would need what, 500 or so? Yeah right!! You take your Mikaheads and multiply them by 4:punk:
mika-fan1001 Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 oh my gosh, that would scare me if that happend to me, i would make a restaraining order 1000 ft away..lol
JackViolet Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 In her place I would be really scared Do you think it really is that bad for Mika? Fans showing up at Mika's door after following him all over on tour? Already happened. We're just lucky he decided to get a bodyguard rather than slap a restraining order anyone. (And of course he publicly thanked some of the fans for this...) --Jack
Christine Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 (And of course he publicly thanked some of the fans for this...) Yeah not the brightest move Mika has ever made.
babspanky Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 OMG. Things that make you go "Hmmmm...." adding that the correct spelling and order of his name is Jordi Bassas Puigdollers. Hmmmm. Gibson claimed Puigdollers has attended all of her "nationwide performances" since 2002, where he often tries to go backstage to see her and get autographs. He also follows her to her hotel room, according to court papers. . Must take some tips, how do we find the hotel room? The emergency order allows Puigdollers to get within 10 yards of Gibson at her concerts, but he still must stay at least 100 yards from her home.. Oh to be able to get within 10 yards of Mika at his concerts these days. Puigdollers left a note under Gibson's door Thursday suggesting that the two meet in El Paso, according to the singer. "If you like, contact me," he said in a note that was included with the court documents. He signed it with his phone number in Barcelona and an e-mail that begins "debhead." mikahead? meet me in Kilburn on Thursday OK?

I agree, he really did. He must have been desparate, poor sod.
Suzy Posted April 20, 2008 Author Posted April 20, 2008 mikahead? meet me in Kilburn on Thursday OK? Ha ha. That's funny. He probably gets someone else to read his notes, just like on his MySpace and mikasounds.
