BLUE EYES - Lyrics Discussion

Recommended Posts

Mkay I hear that, too, on one of the YouTube versions. I think it's clearer than the first MP3 rip that surfaced. :punk:

In that case, do we think the second verse is:

-----------------

Ohh, you'll wind up broken

At the end of the round

We'll find your spirit

In the lost and found

Oh I've been watching

How you behave

Not much like a lover

More like a slave

yeah listening to several youtube and the mp3 it just sounds like he slurred the your into "jour" or something but it makes sense to me, sick of crying from a broken heart...

blueee eyes bluee eyes. whats the matter matter...getting to second verse...

Your heart got broken? Just replayed it like 5 times.

And I just have a few other little

things I hear differently from Mana's version --

not saying I'm right, it's hard to make some of these phrases out:

I'm not hearing the "tears on the right" bit - now I'm watching Sivan's video and watching his lips:

I'm not sure about the second last line of the first verse. Think good woman? Think hard woman? I'm scratching my head on that one.

It also looks like he's only saying one syllable before "sorrow is so peculiar". But come, sorrow doesn't make sense. Or does it?

And, I agree about "won't find your spirit in a lost and found." :thumb_yello:

Hmm. Yeah, watching the vids, he's definitely doing his chicken/ticket slurring thing.

I'm not hearing "heart got" there. Watching his lips, they don't seem to move right for those hard consonant sounds...?

Gahh! Mika, help us! I don't know why I'm obsessed with the lyrics to this song. Oh well. As long as I stay away from the Good Gone Girl lyrics thread. I could be up until sunrise trying to tackle that one. :roftl:

I really am curious as to the lyrics of this song as well. there is something about this song calling to me O_o

it sounds like "jour hah gah" :roftl:

Gaaah! Now I'm hearing "two years to the right"! It definitely sounds

like right on the video I cited up above -- others, I just can't tell.

And yeah, "think hard woman" makes sense, but the more I listen

the less I'm sure...

Kinda. "Come, sorrow is so peculiar." I've been looking at it too long.

Oh, that's a study in frustration -- I have parts of lines, but it's next to

impossible to make out. Tomorrow. It's definitely bed time now! :wink2:

I'm obsessed with this song now. It's like a giant nut that I must crack! :insane:

Blue Eyes

Ohh, your heart is broken

To your surprise

You're sick of crying

For blue eyes

So tired of living

Misunderstood

Think hard woman

I think you should

Come, sorrow is so peculiar

It comes in a day, then it'll never leave you

You take a pill, wonder if it will fix you

They wonder why sorrow has never left you

I'm talkin' bout blue eyes, blue eyes

What's the matter, matter

Blue eyes, blue eyes

What's the matter matter

so blind, so blind

What's the matter, matter

Blue eyes, blue eyes

What's the matter with you?

Ohh, you'll wind up broken

At the end of the round

Won't find your spirit

In a lost and found

Oh I've been watching

How you behave

Not much like a lover

More like a slave

Come, sorrow is so peculiar

It comes in a day, then it'll never leave you

You take a pill, wonder if it will fix you

They wonder why sorrow has never left you

I'm talkin' bout blue eyes, blue eyes

What's the matter, matter

Blue eyes, blue eyes

What's the matter matter

so blind, so blind

What's the matter, matter

Blue eyes, blue eyes

What's the matter with...

Blue eyes, blue eyes

What's the matter matter

Blue eyes, blue eyes

What's the matter matter

so blind, so blind

What's the matter, matter

Blue eyes, blue eyes

What's the matter with you?

What's the matter with you?

What's the matter with you?

...So as this is my namesake :blush-anim-cl: (and it didn't already have it's own thread) I was just wondering if some lovely person would like to interpret the lyrics to this wonderfully uplifting new tune :wub2: ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PwRrvG1r3c

:roftl: Not so much.

:lmao: ... ok *hides head under pillow* That was BEFORE I knew what the lyrics were lol. The music is rather jolly though - don't ya think?!

I get

"ohh you're heart is broken"

at the beginning instead of Joanna

YEP, me too !

I'm obsessed with this song now. It's like a giant nut that I must crack! :insane:

someone was saying that this song was a cover? is it true??

I have no reason to believe it's a cover. He didn't introduce it as one, and there's nothing online with similar lyrics.

There are lots of other songs out there called Blue Eyes, though, maybe that's why people thought it was a cover.

I could be wrong of course - but I'll be gutted if it turns out it is a cover. I'm in love with it. :wub2:

This song is not a cover. There was a confusion when we first knew that it was called 'Blue Eyes' as there is an older song (called Behind Blue Eyes) which Mika has covered, usually as tiny bits as part of the intro to Love Today.

Hey Mouselle!! Long time no see!:naughty:

I really liked the tiny bit of Behind Blue Eyes that Mika sang. But this is NOT it. That was from The Who.

I think you've got it Mana -- with the exception of one or two minor

words I'm in agreement with you on these lyrics! :thumb_yello:

Now come and help me with Good Gone Girl -- I'm spinning my wheels,

can't get very far at all! :naughty:

Hi Blue Sky! I missed you! Hugs!

:blush-anim-cl: Back are the days when Mika and MFC eat my life! Back to every spare moment being about Mika, and a fresh Mika soundtrack in my head. :mf_lustslow:

So good!:roftl:

I've just edited my post, because you're right, it was Behind Blue Eyes that he covered, not Blue Eyes.

I loved it too, especially the once (that I know of) when he sang more of it than usual.

wouldnt it be

Ohh, you'll wind up broken end up

I dunno I can't watch the vids but wouldnt it make more sense ?

just a suggestion :thumb_yello:

It sounds more like wind, but you are right: end would make more sense...

On the

"soo blind so blind"

bit I hear soul ride, soul ride.

anybody else?

I hear so blind. Makes more sense cause the songs is about eyes.

Loving this, I think someone may have already mentioned, but it sounds very Paul Simon 'ish to me :wub2:

Actually you might have put this into my ear as I can now also hear Paul Simon in it.. (eg. the rhythm and some of melody of the verses (but not the chorus) of You can call me Al...):wink2:

No problem! I don't know why, I was just fixated on figuring this one out.

As soon as he said the title in LA that night, btw, I thought of you. First MFCer with a song named after them!
