me thinks? a wee bit dispointed... just like the title... but hey! its just a wee bit of the song, im sure ill love the whole thing... i hope :teehee:

We haven't hear the whole thing yet. I've listened to the clip three times, and on the third time I was singing along with it and had got the tune! So I feel sure we'll love the whole song once we get to hear it.

...looks like the Mika-Marmite comparison is applicable in here too :teehee:

I mean, some people love it and some people hate it. I wonder if this surprise will cost him some of his fans in the end but actually I don't think so. I hope not :teehee:

God no ... even If I do hate it ... I love his music too much to jump ship over one song .... I hope people aren't that fickle

Yeah, I think people are far more "loyal" than that over here. :biggrin2: Half-fans don't sign up here, I think, so: NO, I think that it will only ADD Mika fans! :wink2:

In fact, his mother is American. Lebanese American.

.

Never knew that.

Meatloaf + MGMT + Queen. That's my conclusion. Love it, but I expect the whole song to be better and very weird and lovely!

Replace MGMT with Bon Jovi.

Totally agree with all of this. I think the worst thing we could ever say about a Mika song is -

Well, it's OK.

That would be worse than hating it.

I think it will be the Umbrella of 2009. People won't be able to stop singing it and will get so sick of it, but STILL won't be able to stop singing it.

I hope so.

I really can't see the MGMT connection....:boxed:

Me neither. I don't get why people think that?

Very very very different style. Very different vocals, very different style of music, very different songwriting style..

For the people who thought so, just tell my why you think so, cause I'm extremely curious where you see the connection?

I was hoping for a bit more Pink Floyd personally:mf_rosetinted: I think we were led up the garden path by whoever said that :naughty:. But who knows, there might be a four minute experimental instrumental bridge in the middle of the full version...we'd better wait and see I suppose :lmfao:

Me too! I also thought some article wrote that.

I think the MGMT thing is because that group have this song called Kids. I haven't heard it much, and it's good. But the only similarity really with WAG is that it's about being young and talks about expressing yourself or something like that.

Omy goodness i just saw your siggy:naughty: I love that song! Bo burnham! amazingness...

Uhm anways about WAG...I like it towards the end when the entire chorus gets into it, but the beginning is just a little to strange for my taste, but I might change my mind later.:thumb_yello:

So, the whining fan returns! (that would be me)

I heard the bit and was like: WTF? I don't like the beggining at all...I mean there was this kind of part in Lollipop too, but I bet in the song makes a lot more sense...(I hoope so at least)

As for the rest of the chorus...kindof surprising...it's something new to Mika a bitter pop-rock...

I like his voice I have to say in the chorus it's very interesting. Reminded me why I love his music so much.

But the beggining is terrible!:aah:

When I left it was page 82, when I came back after 3 hours...98...dang! We talk too much!

p.s. right now I have stuck in my head his voice saying continuously : "We are golden! We are golden!" has a very catchy (odd) pronounciation, I have to say.

That's the reason why I'm here.

At first I hated GK.It was a curse for me to hear it everywhere...but when you're supposed to listen to it many times, you learn to love it.:naughty:

It's funny how the song got so many good reviews and when we first hear it we hate it! :roftl:

We are in an anti-anything-that-has-to-do-with-Mika-mood this week.:aah:

Don't mess with the MFC FBI :mf_rosetinted:

I thought we were the MFC Mafia? :boxed:

We even have a national anthem! :glasses3:

Now, we're an MFC Mafia 'cause we were born

In a Mikalandia town on a Sunday morn

Now Mikalandia just happens to occupy a place

In the southeastern portion of this here Fairy States

Now that's a matter of fact, buddy

And you know it well

So we just call ourselves the MFC Mafia

That's M-A-F-I-A, son. That's us!

Now we said all that to say all this

We've been watchin' the way

You've been watchin' our bitch

For the last three weeks you been drooling over his magic spatula

And you kinda upset this MFC Mafia

You touch him once with your greasy hands

We're gonna stretch your neck like a long rubber band

He's wearin' a bracelet that we bought for this fella'

And that makes him the property of the MFC Mafia

You better not mess with the MFC Mafia my friend

The MFC Mafia gets mad, we're gonna do you in

You know what's good for yourself son

You better find somebody else son

Don't tamper with the property of the MFC Mafia

Through the rain and the heat and the sleet and the snow

The MFC Mafia are taking a bow

Quit watchin' our man, for that ain't wise

You ain't pullin' no wool over this club's eyes

We catch you 'round our man, champ

We're gonna leave your head 'bout the shape of a stamp

Kinda flattened out, 'cause you make good pasha

And almost manage to bribe this MFC Mafia

You better not mess with the MFC Mafia my friend

The MFC Mafia gets mad, we're gonna do you in

You know what's good for yourself son

You better find somebody else son

Don't tamper with the property of the MFC Mafia

Sock it to us

All right...now we're gonna tell it like it is if you give us some jelly jars

We catch you messin' 'round with that man of ours at bars

We're gonna lay one on ya'

You're talkin' to the MFC Mafia

The INTERNATIONAL MFC Mafia
