Yesssss! I'm rolling up to that gig in a freakin' bikini. :surfing:

:roftl:

:lol3: Okay, Mana. :freak:

Well it says it'll be 80 degree Fahrenheit next Friday, but that's in the Valley, so it'll probably be in the 70s for the gig area. I'm cool with the 70s. :pinkbow:

Part 2

*sappiness warning*

I See You was a little intense for me. I usually find myself singing along at all gigs (not just Mika's), but there's definitely something about this particular song. I find that looking at Mika while singing along to the lyrics "you mean the world to me but you'll never know" makes me feel slightly naked - becuase it's embarassingly accurate. I don't mean to come across as a stalker-like, rabid fangurl, but in all honesty discovering Mika's music really has changed my life, in ways he'll never really know. And admittedly, from the outside I can see how that would be a bit weird, and for that I'm glad he'll never know. Because here's some kid from London who happened to get a record deal, and some chick from western Canada is going on about how his music has impacted her oh-so-greatly. But it's true. I mean, I look at the places I've travelled, I look at my music collection (not even just his songs, but other artists I've discovered through him and MFCers) and I look at the people I consider friends; all have been shaped because I happened to hear the song Grace Kelly and get sucked in. And so yes, for that reason "you mean the world to me, but you'll never know" does have something of an impact. :blush-anim-cl:

This gig went by SO fast. I was feeling really sick at the Toronto gig (I think because I hadn't had any water all day - let that be a lesson!) but at this gig I was feeling fantastic, and was still on a high from Toronto. I felt like the set lasted about ten minutes, but really it was closer to an hour and a half. One of the best songs is We Are Golden. Even Grace Kelly pales in comparison. It seemed everyone in the place was on their feet, jumping even. And then when Mika got to the "we are not what you think we are, we are GOLDEN!" line he looked up at the balcony and his face just lit up. I turned around and could see the whole venue just vibrating, chanting that mantra.

My advice? If you're at a Mika gig and it's not all one level - as in, if it's sloped or if there are balconies - turn around during that part of We Are Golden and just see what Mika sees, all those people just immersed in that message. It's a pretty freakin' cool sight. :punk:

I didn't take any pics or vids because my camera hates Mika. It was working fine in the Toronto queue, started going wonky during Gary Go, then totally crapped out when Mika got on stage. I even tried to take pics after the Toronto gig, and it just wasn't working. Then I get home, try it today, and it totally works. Thanks a lot, stupid thing. :aah:

I SEE YOU: 100% agree.

WE ARE GOLDEN: 100% agree.

I was at the back of Bloomsbury Ballroom so I managed to see everything from the back haha, but it was still really good, because you could still see people rocking out to it and chanting "we are not what you think we are!" I think WAG is a powerful song live with a raving audience.

CAMERA: LOL!

Mana, as per usual, I love your report. And I have to say that I think the reason the song "I See You" touches so many of us is exactly because we feel like that about Mika. I can't even imagine him singing it in front of me and me singing it back at him. I would wonder if my feelings were written all over my face, plain for everyone to see. I don't think I want to be that "naked" as you say.

Part 1

Then Mika appears, clad in a space suit. He strips down to his white boxers and gazes around, and you'd swear that he really was in outerspace. He walks off the side of the stage, the lights go down, and they launch into Relax. :wub2:

:wub2:

Part 2

I think this was the best performance of Billy Brown that I'd ever seen. Mika started on his little keyboard thing, but then got up and came out toward the audience. It's usually one of the mellow-er songs, but the audience was really rocking.

As i'm so good in english and really tired i'll be short :naughty:

As i said before last night was amazing! Mika was in shape and the crowd was on fire! I have had the chance to meet some mfcers and i want to say Long: you're a really nice guy! It was a pleasure to meet you even if my english is really bad and I promise you that next time i will be much better :thumb_yello: and a huge thanks to dragon lady for your help you are so kind :huglove: After the show I waited close to the stage when a man arrived with Cherisse's drumstick and he gave me one!

We waited outside close to 2 hours and finally met John and the musicians and they chatted with the people. I saw quickly Mrs Penniman and Yasmine. Imma noticed that i had a drumstick and said to me how much i was lucky. As i want to ask Cherisse for sign it but don't have a pencil she go inside the tour bus to took one and gave it to me! She and Cherisse are so sweet! :wub2: And Mika arrived with a huge bunch of flowers on his face as if he wanted to hide and stayed for less than 5 minutes but i managed to have an autograph and a pic with him :aah:

Once again sorry for my bad english!

Merci d'avance!

Ah bon tant mieux alors merci!

After 3 days of late nights that included a lot of walking, queuing, chatting, laughing and all sorts of unplanned craziness and Mika gig - here we are on a 6 hour train ride to Montreal. Thank God for no queuing! :aah:

Ok, I'm being terribly lazy with my report for both Toronto and Montreal :aah:, so in the meantime here are the pictures that I took.

Nothing spectacular but they are fun and reflect the fantastic experience that we had those few days :wub2: . I miss you all so much already

According to Mika he will be back in Montreal very very soon! :aah:

i think he said the same thing to vero last time & it took him 1 1/2 year :sneaky2:

You forget that he is officially lost in space. So he said in 1955 that he'd be back soon - it might mean 2011 or 2025. :biggrin2:
