I remember I read about this, and thought it was extremely nice of him, must have been a very special night for you lucky fans together :blush-anim-cl:

I also loved the story about MIKA inviting people to show up at a London pub for celebrating, whilst he was the host and paid it all :thumb_yello:

I can imagine :blush-anim-cl: Kath, I have to ask you something: I have a photo of MIKA " in the air" onstage - which was in a Norwegian newspaper after his concert at Sentrum Scene 07.11.07. Are you the lady closest on this photo!? :wink2:

oh, how i'd LOVE to go to this one! :tears: i was in vegas in 2009, before the mika gigs in LA and oakland - unfortunately i didn't get to see that much though, as i got sick and spent most of the time i was there in bed of my air-conditioned hilton hotel room! :aah: i did a bit of sightseeing on the first day, but was really jetlagged, so it was just 2 of the hotels, and a bus sightseeing tour... and on the 2nd day i took a day trip to the grand canyon (which i can really recommend! :wub2:). then i got sick. so i was really sad that i couldn't see more of vegas, it's so amazing, like one huge amusement park! seeing mika live there would be the best thing ever - especially since what i read here about the capacity of the venue. but as i have to pay a wedding and a honeymoon this year, the 600€ for a flight are just not possible.

unless of course anyone is willing to sponsor me a flight to vegas, or i win the lottery jackpot, but i guess neither of that will happen.

Yes it's a weird place - sort of like Disneyland but real. Except it isn't really real at all. Everything is fake. Paris and New York and Luxor and Venice etc etc....all in the middle of a desert. :naughty: I too would recommend a trip to The Grand Canyon...................the word awesome truely fits such an incredible spectacle. But the day we went the runway was too icy for the little plane to take off to take us back to Vegas and we had to go on a bus....and we missed our connecting flight as we were heading to New Orleans.

But as you say, to see Mika there would be just incredible. I really think that we all should be sponsored to go!

YES, we're talking about the same photo!:blush-anim-cl: I think you look impressed by his high jump! :naughty:

Oh yes, this was my first MIKA gig - you can see my arm with the blue sweater at the end of the row - right in front of quitarplayer Martin :blush-anim-cl:

A fantastic concert - especially when he looked me in the eyes while singing: "love, love me" - twice, a real magic moment, hehe :wub2: After finishing "Love today" he throw one of the drum sticks towards me, but the girl by my right side managed to grab it - and of course she kept it :aah: It's funny to know now that you were only some few meters away from me ...

Yes - I always find it strange when I 'meet' people on here later....or in this case much later - and discover we were at the same gig. :naughty:I will post my answer to your post on your wall or else we will be seriously off topic! I will go back and have another look at the pic first though. :wink2:

definitely! :naughty:

i booked a bus trip to the grand canyon, plane was too expensive... of course that meant a lot of time on the bus compared to the time at the grand canyon, but i also enjoyed seeing the countryside - the scenery is so different from what i usually see, and we stopped at the hoover dam and saw desert and lakes and steppe, it wouldn't have been the same on a flight so i was happy with my choice. :original: although flying over the grand canyon surely would've been lovely too - and it sucks that you paid for a flight but then had to take the bus!

of course it's all fake in vegas, it's like one of the typical american clichés... but i don't mind that at all, it's kinda cute to see that miniature eiffel tower. :naughty: and i love this whole overdone glitter and lights and luxury thing - wouldn't want to have it everyday but for a week it's wonderful! especially for the ridiculously cheap hotel prices on weekdays. :naughty: what disappoints me the most about my last trip is that i missed the bellagio fountains, i only saw them quickly while driving by in the sightseeing bus but thought i could come back 2 days later to watch the whole spectacle - it's one of the main reasons why i wanted to visit vegas! :aah: another reason is that it's one of the best places on earth for partying... some friends who have been there told me about amazing parties, and of course i missed that too - although i was there on my own so it probably wouldn't have been that much fun anyway. but a mika gig would definitely count as a party. :naughty: the whole city is showbusiness, all like one big amazing stage. :wub2:

Yes - but it's the knowledge of what is paying for all that oppulance that upsets me. I just hate gambling with a vengance.

Yes, the fountains are amazing - what a shame that you missed them - and a shame that you were ill. :aah:

Yes indeed.....party, party.............the last time that we went - for Abby's 21st - our son would sometimes be out all night and we would meet him for breakfast just before he went to bed. One morning he fell asleep at the table. :naughty:

I found the scenery very boring to be honest on the bus trip back - except when we were taken to an Indian reservation for lunch. We must have taken a diferent route to you as we didn't go by the Hoover Dam - although we did on a different occasion - another awesome sight! But on the whole it was just desert.

However - we will just have to look forward to reading the reports from the gig.:thumb_yello:

Yes at first it was just a round but then he kept calling in to order more champagne. And I think he was a bit nosy and wanted to know what was going on. :teehee:

The staff was really impressed that he would do that for his fans.

It was the night I lost my innocense. :glasses2:

Vegas is way too fake and ridiculous for me. I mean I don't mind it but I would not go to the middle of the Nevada desert to look at a fake Eiffel Tower. :naughty:

I did do a tour of Hoover Dam though which was interesting. I've only seen the Grand Canyon from a jet plane flying over Colorado on the way to Vegas but would love to take the smaller planes that tour the Grand Canyon. Must be amazing.

Haha. I'm opposite. I love fake and ridiculous! Thats why i love Vegas! From fake New York buildings to fake boobies! Its knows me. Fake, cheesy, flashy, glittery and filthy is my air. You look up at the casinos and its glamour but then you look at the ground and see a million ads for girls. It's beautiful to me.

I'm so excited about this show/trip that I kept forgetting im also seeing Mika in SF and thats my home turf! I feel bad! :aah:

I am having the same. I have been planning a trip to DC and NYC and haven't given the Toronto gig any thought. I think it's going to be so cold here I may not queue and will end up in the balcony so it's not going to be that great anyway.

(I mean compared to the DC and NYC gigs, of course any Mika gig is great. :naughty:)

Excited for the show tonight! I'm stupid sick though :(

Im really curious to see how the LV crowd is going to be.

Me too! And what a shame that you're sick. :(

Do me a favor, though... don't kiss Mika and get him sick too! He needs to stay healthy until April 13! :naughty:

Have a great time!

The venue is fantastic, really. Looking forward to meeting Lucy and Charlie! Have met Charlie only once, not sure she can remember me. Also, my friend from Finland is coming to Las Vegas today and she will be there too, what a great timing indeed! I just slept 13 hours, feeling much better but still thinking of finding a hammer every time I see those game machines, lol!
