500 fans were called to appear in a vid. They didn´t even know that Mika was going to be there.

- Welcome.

- Thanks.

- Are you aware that this is one of the most awaited ads of the season?

- Really?

- Really

- No, I know the campaign. I know it´s very creative, not a normal ad.

- Last year Jamie Cullum set high standards. How´s your osng?

- Pretty pop. Easy to sing, quite summer-esque.

- You´ve already done ads. You wrote a song for a chewing gum ad and for some air lines...

- Yes, but this is pretty different. Here you write the song and record a clip, it´s more real.. not like (orbit chewing gum *claps*) I'm happy I stopped.

- Does being compared to Freddie Mercury make your life more complicated?

- It´s a bless and a curse. There´s nothing better than being compared to someone your admire, but on the other hand I'm a huge fan and it seems to me an impossible comparison.

- You like The Simpsons. What else do you fancy?

- I like trashy TV. I'm from the South Park generation. They do what they want, they say what they want... and everything is ok. Like a pop song. As long as you ad a great melody to a song, it sounds good, but if you sometimes read the lyrics, there are some obscure things expressed on them.

- Do you still get nervous before a gig?

- Yes.

- Who do you fear? Journalists or fans?

- Oh no, not journalists or press at all. It´s just that you are as good as your last gig.

- You were singing opera. Will you return?

- No, I wasn´t good at it and there´s very little job for those singers, you need to be the best...

- You live in London, but were born in Beirut.... How do you see it now?

- There are many things happening in Beirut now, many influences from countries like Syria ... it makes me thing “really, again?”

- You speak English, Spanish, French...

- English and French.

- No, Spanish too!! Where did you learn it?

- I like Spanish. I understand everything but I'm afraid of talking because I do many mistakes.

- So to finish, let´s see how good you are at Catalan, ok?

Now he is been told to say "I also do a Friday" which I´m not sure if it makes sense for you in English. It doesn´t in Spanish or Valenciano, maybe only in Catalan...

Don't you think it will be the other way around? Learning Italian could make him improve his Spanish?

I get why he's nervous. When I speak Spanish to Spanish people they encourage me and say I'm doing well but I don't feel comfortable at all, because I'm not as fluent as in English.

Good thing is he actually understands much more than he can speak (which he does quite well, just for the record), a blessing for any Spanish fan whose spoken English is sh*t... :aah: And if you can understand English, then all is ok.
