  1. Welcome, Farhana! It was love at first sight for me too. This is a wonderful forum. You are right, lots of love, love here!
  2. Now...don't think like that.... At best you'll be seeing Mika ~*~*~*~*AgAiN~*~*~*~* and at worst, you'll be seeing a funny Graham Norton show. If you do have the spectacular good luck to see Mika again, twice in one week, I want you to buy me a lottery ticket. When you get back, we need a full report, 'kay?
  3. Tootch, DCDeb and I are going to meet him in DC...if it's the last thing I do. I'm very determined!
  4. Hey Mika... OK...how to say what I want to without seeming like a fool...mmm... Love the music. Love your voice. I love your energy. My six year old son is inspired by you also. He started piano about five months ago and he can play the start of "Grace Kelly"--it's so cute. He's something of a prodigy. Isn't it fun that you are inspiring the next generation of artists already? He's fascinated with how you studied opera and play pop music, incorporating the two. Your personality shines through in your work, and there is an honesty and childlike fun in it. A freshness, a kindness is there also. I hope you never lose this as you go on with your career. I hope you never become jaded. I've read some of the barbed, cruel things written about you. I think (I know) some people react to true goodness violently because it so absent from their lives it provokes hatred. It's almost a knee jerk reaction. It's pitiable really. It's why every truely good person in public life gets stones lobbed at them, are villified. I hope you are well protected for this, have a good support system around you, are strong in your heart and mind. I hope it doesn't ever stop you from being who you really are. Hope this doesn't sound stupid. I love your music. I think you are very special. Don't let the haters blow vapors on your dreams. xoxo
  5. seems as if he was a little miffed and gave it back to them by saying he wouldn't live there because there are snobs who say brown and red don't match or green and brown don't match, etc. good on ya, mika!
  6. Thank You!!! My six year old son has been tinkering trying to play this by ear. He's got the first bit down and has been playing it over and over. I'm the only one in the house who isn't tired of hearing (besides him!) Maybe he can play a little more now. He isn't this advanced in his lessons, but we'll see. Thanks again!
  7. I hope someone can record it and post it on You Tube! I really love Graham Norton. We used to get him on BBC America here. I don't know if we do anymore or not. BBCA doesn't come in that good anyway on my Satelite system. I do so hope it turns up on You Tube though. It ought to be pretty good!
  8. I'm not sure that John Deacon ever really "sang" although he's seen singing on videos, I thought I read somewhere he never really sang on records. I thought it was just for show. Roger's voice really rocked. I wish he'd sung more...but Freddie's talent in that area was just so huge. Roger could've fronted his own rock band---if you listen to "I'm in Love With My Car" or "Sheer Heart Attack"--it's a superior full out hard rock voice. And he was easy on the blinkers too.
  9. I hope someone records it and posts it on You Tube!!! I like Graham Norton.
  10. Mika is the rarest of all creatures. Tall, dark....lean.... but sweet, beautiful, talented....but handsome...a perfect man.
  11. Ok Mika...please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please add a philadelphia show oh please oh please oh please oh please oh pretty please with a big girl and lollipop on top.... I know I am seeing him in DC, but....is it too selfish to want to see him twice? is it? really?
  12. Married for seven years. Before that I was single for two years. Prior to that I was married for nine years to a rat fink. Trust me, you singles that are who are sad you are alone. I know it can be lonely...and that's no fun. But being by yourself is wayyyyyyy better than being with someone BAD. Count your blessings. Do whatcha wanna do. When you are married you can't!
  13. I'm sorry to hear you are going through such a rough time. I'm glad though, that you are finding ways of coping and ways to make yourself feel better like listening to Mika. Try to express yourself to your parents during this time, and to other people who care for you. I know how difficult it is, I'm a child of divorce and unfortuately I've been through one myself. I'ts been very, very hard. I'll say a prayer for you and your family. God Bless xoxo

    Fragrance!

I'd like him to smell like vanilla and sugar....sweet....mmm
  15. Deb, I also feel that "on the verge" feeling about him. He's on the brink and it is going to be fun to watch him develop and mature. I hope he never loses his sense of fun and that childlike nature he's got. He does have that depth of soul too, but he's bright as a penny too... He's got depth of feeling, that child-wonderful-playful quality, and that fabulous talent in his voice. He's going to be BIG. All of us should enjoy seeing him in the small venues he's playing now, because he won't be playing in them long. These will be sweet, sweet memories soon.
  16. Hi and Welcome!!!!! I'm waaaayyyy older than you!!!! (41, shhh...don't tell...) I went to school in Buffalo, NY. I went to Daemen in Amherst and had a good time there. Have fun here on the forum. We all have Mika fever. And that is a good thing....
  17. Well, there is a magic. I am a big Queen fan. I love Freddie Mercury. I first heard of Mika in a magazine and saw his picture and the article said he's been compared to Freddie. Hmm...I thought. He's handsome, but--- No one's like Freddie! Then I came home and saw "Grace Kelly" on You Tube. I was BLOWN AWAY. His voice...his beautiful, beautiful voice....the piano, the way he moved...it was all so wonderful. The Magic is there. Whatever *~*~*~*~* IT~*~*~*~*~ is Mika has it in abundance. And I'm blissfully happy. When Freddie died, I thought I'd never hear music like that again. Mika is not Freddie, but he's got the magic...and it touches my soul. I'm so grateful!!!
  18. This man almost always looks so sweet. Oh my heart.... thanks so much for these pictures!
  19. I'm so envious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE......tea.......ahem.....

    MIKA in DC!

I'm between Lancaster and Philly. I live in Amish Country....in the boonies. Out with the cows and horses.
  22. this song seems obvious to me, but I'm not going to psychoanalyze Mika. Everyone needs to grow up and it is a necessary and painful process. That's all.
  23. Man...some reviews are really SCATHING. Not just don't like the music. But they say such horrid, personal things. I looked at that horrible review by the stylus mag and in the comment section there was a comment that told the guy that Brian May might come after him with a link to a rebuttal Brian may gave to someone else who had trashed Mika. Go Brian! http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/1591719 People are so cruel. If you don't like the music, ok. (so you don't have taste...) But why do you have to eviserate people? What kind of people write this stuff for a living? Sick SOBs, that's who. Brian's right. Stop your poison pen and go out and do something that makes people happy, give people joy.
  24. Sometimes people say they have OCD when they want things "Just so" or are perfectionistic. People who truely have the disorder are not perfectionistic, they have to make things in a certain order because they have the belief that if they do not bad things will happen. For example if the fringe on the throw rug is not straightened at least 25 times then something bad will happen to the patient's mother. I hope Mika is just perfectionistic!
