Just had to come here and confess....

Russell is my latest obsession.

I heard about him last year, and admired his looks etc and even checked out some stuff on youtube, but the bug didn't really bite.

Then the other night I watched St Trinian's, not knowing he was in it, and he was fantastic. I knew he was in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, so I've also now watched that, and then last night on youtube I found his live DVD. Aside from all the swearing, it had me spellbound. Particularly since in some of it, he talked about the filming of FSM and having just watched it the night before I could picture it all so clearly.

I realise I have hours of Russell to catch up on (oh the joy that awaits me!) and then I'm gonna have to try and get my hands on his booky wook.

Anyway, I'm just kind of bubbling over with Russell worship atm, so had to come here and say something.

I knew you'd all understand, and my husband just doesn't get it.:roftl:

I'm sending envious thoughts to all of you who are going to see him.

Does anybody do mini-reports on here? (Haven't actually read through the thread yet, just skipped straight to the end to post this.)

Can you please give the link to the You Tube site!:wink2:

I actually bought the Booky Wook in London in December but I haven't finishing reading it yet,:blush-anim-cl: it's really difficult English!

But sooner or later I will, I think he’s a fascinating person but I’m not sure why.

I think it’s the fact that he seems very smart and thinks so fast and of course his unusual personality!

I heard him on an interview on satellite radio on my way to work in the car ride. I haven't laughed so much in such a long time.

I think I've just become a new fan!

I am thinking of buying his Booky Wook too! And yes, I agree, he does come across quite intelligent.

Russell is amazing. You really should read his Booky Wook, he writes the way he talks and it keeps you captivated till the very last page.

Some bits are pretty disturbing but for the most part you'll just want to give him a cuddle.

Just listened to him on Howard Stern. I really can't stand Howard and he should research his guests before interviewing them (talking about a brother he doesn't have, Russy's mum being dead when she isn't etc.) but Russell still did great.

Also, I recommend you watch the Re:Brand series he did. It's old and Russ was still on drugs at the time but it's one of the most brilliant pieces of television I have ever seen.

Seriously, look it up. :wub2:

Hello there new fellow Russ addict :naughty: We totally understand, it's hard not to fall for the man :wink2: In a way, I'm a bit jealous cos you have so much lovely Russell material out there to enjoy! There's lots of great stuff on this site here http://www.freewebs.com/russellbranddownloads/ have fun :naughty: You should definitely check out Ponderland, series 1 is on there but I can't find series 2 online anywhere I'm afraid, it's brilliant though and if I do find it I'll post it here!

I have done a few little reports after seeing him before but in the end I stopped cos I was seeing him quite a lot and felt I was boring people. :naughty: Last I saw him was Feb 26th in Birmingham and next is April 17th in London (I just had to go to this one it's only a few days before my birthday :))

I got a few pics from seeing him in Birmingham actually I can post them if you like though they are not good quality cos my camera is crap but it provided me with a few little tokens at least :naughty:

Do you know he's flying to Australia on the 13th? He's doing a few shows in Sydney and Melbourne I think, but even if you can't make it to them you can look forward to the press!

He's just re vamped his website as well! It's wonderful there's lots of cute video updates and such, he says he's gonna keep it regularly updated hope he does! :D

Oh wow, thank you so much for the link!:wub2:

I have actually been a fan for some time but as I said before he’s a little hard to understand, and with this internet times I have to do it without subtitles.

But with a second though, it doesn’t really matter that much because they never get it right with subtitles anyway.:naughty:

His website…a link?

Please!:wink2:

He absolutely does. That's one of the things that's been astonishing me, the more I investigate him. But I think to be a stand up comic, you really do need a very fast brain.

Oh, I will, believe me (watch Re:Brand). I'm trying to catch up with all things Russ, but there's a lot! So far I've watched some of his Ponderland series, and some of Russell Brand's Got Issues, as well as some of him on MTV and some of him being interviewed.

And I'll definitely have to read back through the thread and catch up with your reports!

Has everyone seen his interview from the Today show?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CDIBRlRh64

What he said near the end just about made me cry and I fell in love with him all over again. :wub2::wub2::wub2:

BTW, I went to three book stores looking for the Booky Wook today, NONE OF THEM HAD IT!!! Stupid Michigan.

What does he say near the end? I can't watch youtube videos on my computer

Well Kathy Lee is like, "So what have you learned from all of this?" and he says...

"I've learned that it's important to be beautiful to people. That all that matters is that you're lovely to the people around you and the people that you meet, 'cause it don't matter if you're a bit of a show off or a little bit vain, as long as you're good to your mum, and that you're kind and that you're lovely. And that everything is transient and superficial, and to not get attached to material things, cause you're gonna loose it all, and the only thing that is constant is love. This is what i've learned."
