Just a suggestion - it might be an idea for Misspie (is that her name, - the one who got taken hostage) to be one of the children since they'd all be grown up now, and have no idea of their past identities (so could have any name) :naughty:

Guess that's not bad ... I do have no idea of the past :roftl: It'll definitely take me some time to get into this PPR thing, and to have an idea of how the adventures go :naughty:

Alright, I'll post..

As we made our way back inside, a man in a white lab coat emerged, and handed Nobu a clear piece of plastic with numbers and words flashing across it. It appeared to be another form of computer.

"Hmmm yes, I see," he said glancing over what was our vitals from the training exercise. "They are quite extraordinary, just as our forefathers always said. Still they're not ready. We shall begin the real training. Are you dealing with the intruder?"

"The girl is in the lab. We will find out if she's a Nation plant or if there is some other reason she wondered here," the man said, taking back the piece of plastic.

"Good, good. I shall set them to regaining their muscle tone. Let me know if there is any change in their vitals I need to be aware of," Nobu ordered, dismissing the man.

By this stage we were all in the lobby, where we had stopped, unaware of where we should go now. Nobu turned to us.

"You all did very well in that training exercise. As could be expected of the famous PPR. But before we can have you do more of those type of exercises we need to begin some training, to bring you up to the shape you were before the long sleep,"

At this stage, a woman entered the room. Her hair was bright blue, and she was wearing what classed as fitness clothes from our era.

"This is Cloud. She will be in charge of getting you in shape. You will spend the rest of the morning with her. Then you will come back here for lunch, where you will be given specialised meals, based on a rundown of your nutritional requirements. After which you shall work with me on power training. There will then be a brief introduction to 2030 lesson, followed by brief recreational time. We will discuss the special needs of tonight in that time. I shall see you at lunch,"

And with that Nobu departed, leaving us in the hands of Cloud.

"Come with me," she gestured, leading us back outside. "I need to see what kind of state the cyrogenics has left you in."

By this stage we noticed her hair was more a purple than the bright blue it was when we first saw her.

"Ah, your hair.." I began, pointing it out.

Cloud tugged on a lock, noting the colour. "Oh right. You guys didn't have mood hair back in your day. Its a simple cosmetic surgery. Its very in at the moment," she said dismissively, "but we're not here to talk about me or my hair. You can discuss things like that in learning about our society later."

We learnt throughout the exercise that Cloud wasn't one for talking. She had us going through various exercises, some torturous like the beep test, others less so, but all designed to give Cloud an idea of where we were at. She had on a pair of those weird flashy sunnies, which would flash more as she spoke our results out loud.

Finally she called a stop to the exercises. "Very well I can see the level your at now. I've developed some training programs which we will discuss tomorrow. Let's just say that luckily there isn't too much for us to do, thanks to you all being in shape before the sleep. However, there is still a lot of work to do. You will meet me here at the same time tomorrow morning. Dismissed."

We headed inside, weary and hungry and glad for some food, though Artsy and Calvin were a little on edge. The others were shooting them weird looks, depending on what they had remembered, but I was taking it in stride. It was after all a full moon tonight.

I was sitting in a chair, fixed so I wouldn't run away. Not that I'd wanted to. The clean environment here maybe wasn't my favourite, but I was inside the house and away from those people in the hedge. My cheek was still burning, not because of the pain from the slap, but because it had been quite a degrading attack. A man came in, wearing a white lab coat. He pulled out a small case and opened it, a tiny screen coming out of its inside. I'd seen those before, on TV shows and in adverts. They were lie detectors. Apparently the man was going to question me. I prepared for the worst, not knowing if he realized I hadn't come with any bad interests.

"What's your name?" he asks first. "Mickey. Well, really Katharina, but I prefer my nickname", I explain hastily. Next thing he wants to know is how I got here. Should have known. "I ran away from home, couldn't stand my parents for ages ... and well, I'm a grown up, actually, it's just that they're still clinging onto me. They've always been very protective of me, and I've finally come to hate it. School time is just about to finish, and really, I can do those few tests even living outside of home." "Get to the point, if you please", he tells me firmly. He scares me a little. Well, not really, but I am worried about being thought to be a 'bad person'. "I simply turned around the corner and saw this mansion. It seemed somewhat magical to me .. I can't describe it, but I just had to go closer. So I ended up being pulled into the hedge and getting tied up by that huge blonde woman and sitting next to a whining muscle man hardly taller than me. Felt strange, I tell ya. After a while we got out of the hedge, and they put me on the floor, the whiney man slapped me in the face. I think you've seen that." I force myself to stop, I feel like I'm rambling again.

After several more questions, the lie detector only flashing when I told him that I'd never had any strange dreams, he got up and motioned me to the door. The chair let me go without any problem. I was surprised, but told myself that these people obviously had high tech equipment. Another man was in the next room. He stepped forward, offering me his hand to shake. "My name is Nobu", he told me, "and I assume you are Mickey?"

"Yes", I replied, "how do you know?" "My little friend here" - he points to a small plastic piece - "told me. Well, Chris did, but, you know what I mean." So Chris must be the man in the lab coat. Nobu spoke again. "By what I've heard from your, er, interview, you could be somehow connected to the PPR. You show typical symptoms - those strange dreams that you obviously did have, and the 'magical' attraction to this mansion, where they all are, are only two of them." I blinked at him. "Connected to the what?" "PPR. Pink Pony Riders." A flash of memory struck me. My parents had once pulled me away from a friend's mother. She was telling a tale. A long one, as my friend later said, and it was about the Pink Pony Riders. She said it involved a lot of adventures, and really cool people. I asked my father why I hadn't been allowed to listen, but he only said he thought it was too violent for me. I'd been four at the time, but violence had never scared me. I told Nobu about the event, and he nodded. As I pushed him to say more, he finally told me what had happened to the group, and what was up now. It was relieving to find they trusted me with this. Chris turned to Nobu to whisper with him. I tried to listen, but they were to quiet for me.

Finally, Nobu decided to fill me in. "Could it be that you have been adopted by your parents?" Shocked by the thought, I didn't say anything but stare at him. "If that's the case, you may very likely be a kid of someone in the PPR group, and have had your memory modified as well. That would explain strange dreams and your parents wanting to keep you away from those stories." This is slightly too much for me. By all of what I'd heard about them, that would mean that I had superpowers ... but also that I was in danger. "So ... what does that mean?" "We will give you the introduction folders that they received and see if it stirrs long-lost memories."

Great post, Mickey! (hope it's ok to call you that)

Damn it, classes are eating into my newfound MFC time. And when I am on, I've been diving into the archives to get a better idea of the past. We have changed so much in writing style since then.

I might post, but it'll be in a few minutes.

"So you're telling me that Calvin and I are bonded somehow?" I asked Soa as we finished up the lunches that Nobu's chef had whipped up to our specific needs. Mine consisted primarily of a large rare steak with a small mango-arugula side salad, since I was in need of a protein-based diet filled out with some nutrients. Soa was polishing off a salmon and spinach sandwich with fruit side salad, since she needed antioxidants for brain health and Omega-3's for memory and concentration.

"You were bonded with Calvin because you didn't have much of a choice. After Kevin and Baby died, it was pretty much either bond with each other, or go into full animal mode each month," she replied, "And anyways, you two were getting along well, having gone through similar experiences."

"Well, my memory is still a little spotty, and I'm not in the right frame of mind for any sort of romantic business, so I hope Nobu has a plan for us to deal with this full moon crap separately," I answered, "No boyfriends right now."

"Who's getting a boyfriend?" asked M, looking up from her broccoli and squash soup and spinach-almond salad. (Vitamin A for great skin and Vitamin E for shiny hair)

"No one except you, M." I replied, and she smiled at Finn. The two of them gazed into each other's eyes, and it was obvious that they weren't having trouble regaining their powers of attraction. Nico rolled her eyes at them and finished off the last of her herb-encrusted salmon. From the other end of the table, Calvin sent hostile glares in my direction, clearly feeling that my presence alone challenged his authority. I silently sneered at him, feeling justified in my decision to not rekindle our relationship. Who could have a relationship with a man with such little control over his animal DNA? Not once during my musings did I consider how hypocritical I was being.

Power training with Nobu left us all weak and out of breath. He didn't make special accommodations in this respect. Regardless of whether our powers were manifested physically or mentally, everyone was treated to the same brutal exercise. No one complained, since our memories were more complete than incomplete at this point, and we remembered all the times it had been helpful and sometimes crucial to be in good shape with decent muscle tone. When he announced that refresher courses in self-defense would soon be added to the program, no one was surprised. In between gasps for air and Nobu's military-like commands, we chatted, mostly about the past, the places we'd been, the people we had known. The friends and family we'd left behind. The team members we'd lost.

"Do you remember when we got stuck in the paintings?" asked Nico during pushups, and there was a collective giggle.

"Those pirates in the ship painting did NOT know how to treat a lady!" I exclaimed.

"What about the time we were running from ninjas and that bridge broke?" M asked.

"And only Baby knew that it was obscenities they were yelling at us in japanese when we got away," Soa said, laughing.

"Don't forget the time that Mav kissed Kevin and Artsy and her had it out in a catfight in the middle of the runway at that fashion show!" reminded Mika. Everyone laughed and I ducked my head in embarrassment. Not one of my finest moments, that one.

In Nation Headquarters:

The blond woman and the man who had been scared out of half his life by Cal were sitting at a table and a man dressed in a suit stared at them from over his cup of coffee.

"So let's recap," the man in the suit said, looking down at a notebook, "You ran into a random girl, you didn't know why she was there, you tied her up so she wouldn't talk. You're getting ready to sneak into the building because you think it's a hidden lab for the Consortium, and that they are developing a secret weapon for the Confederation to use against us. Out of nowhere, you," he jabbed his pencil in the direction of the man, "get knocked over by something you call a "Wolfman". You say the Wolfman had claws, fangs, yellow stripes in his eyes and was about to rip your throat out, but then HE gets tackled by a "Catwoman". Wolfman and Catwoman duke it out while one of their partners takes a loaded gun out of your," he pointed to the woman, "very hands without touching you at all. I believe the term you used was "floated". Then another member comes up and starts to charm the pants off of you, and you two somehow manage to escape and make a run for it. Am I missing something?"

The two escapees shook their heads.

"That's everything," the blond said. The man in the suit looked at them in silence with a raised eyebrow.

"Look, I know it's unbelievable," the other man said, "but really, that's what happened. Arabella heard about them making a secret weapon. I didn't believe her at first, everyone knows the Consortium is imaginary, but I tell you, I saw it with my own eyes. They're assembling a team of assassins out there. Those freaks have all these strange powers, and if the Confederation gets them, it might be enough to tip the war to their advantage."

The man in the suit continued to look at them skeptically, then sighed and rose to leave. The blond woman began to get desperate.

"Look, if you could just come back with us, you could see for yourself. We are not wasting your time! They've got-"

"Just one thing," the man in the suit said, pausing at the doorway, "If this really did happen like you say it did, then what happened to the girl?"

"The girl?"

"Yeah, the one you found when you were casing the place. The one you tied up. The one who wasn't supposed to be there."

The two spies looked at each other, trying to remember what had happened. The man spoke up, "They must've taken her! She's still there! She's seen everything! We can get her back!"

The man in the suit ignored his protests and left, rolling his eyes.

We were in the room in which we had been given the folders. In front of us all were a pile of sunglasses. We had been told by Nobu that we would be learning to use these sunglasses, which were voice activated computers, though there were more advanced models out there which were neurally operated. Nobu had then been called away on business and we had all beens staring at the glasses ever since.

"Do we just put them on?" Nico asked?

"Maybe its a trick, maybe their trying to make us look like fools," Mzee suggested.

"They just look like normal sunglasses," added Mika.

Finally Artsy gave a little growl and reached into the pile. "Bunch of fricken chickens," she muttered, on edge, putting them on. The second the glasses were on, they lit up. "See they work fine," she said.

We each picked up a pair, and sat in quiet, trying to figure out how to use it. It was like the screen of a computer had just appeared before our eyes.

However, before we could get much further, Nobu came in, followed by a short man. "Artsy, Calvin George would like to discuss your accomodations for the night with you. If you could follow him," he gestured. He then turned to me

"And it seems we have a possible training exercise for you Soa down in the lab. It is somewhat unexpected. If you could come with me?"

I looked at the others, before rising, and placing my sunglasses down on the table. We walked in silence through a labrynth of rooms, until we came to a pair of large metal doors. Activating them with an eye scan, Nobu led me in.

"I recognise this place," I murmured, glancing around. Along the walls were containers that seemed to resemble coffins, in a metal and very technological way. It was into these each member of the PPR had been placed after I altered their memories, and into one of these I had climbed myself.

"Yes, yes of course you would. You were one of the few who came here awake. But its the next room that requires us," he said, leading me into the inner lab where Mike was waiting, beside a sleeping girl.

"Thats the girl from outside," I stated, as Nobu nodded.

"Yes, a rather unexpected addition to that training exercise"

"She looks like... she looks, like someone I should know, someone I can't remember," I murmured.

"We believe she might be one of the children. We would like you to scan her memories to see if they have been tampered by you,"Nobu replied.

"Why can't you just run a DNA scan?" I asked.

Nobu frowned slightly. "Because we don't have all your dna. The ones we lost we never got a sample of. But you altered all the children's memories, and if you altered it you can find the alteration."

I glanced at the girl, then took a step before her, placing a hand on her arm. Memories began flashing before me, but I ignored them, going back way into the past to look for the mental signature that I would recognise as my own tampering. Yes, there it was, at some point early in this young womans life, I had altered her memories.

Pulling back, I turned to Nobu "Its there. She has to be on of them. The timing feel rights." I then frowned. "But she shouldn't be here. She shouldn't know this place exists. Your father promised me they would lead normal lives."

"Thats no fault of mine," retorted Nobu. "It is not my fault the memory alteration is failing, leading her here."

"And what, its mine?" I asked, angrily.

"What other reason could there be?" Nobu suggested.

I glared at Nobu "You might not know this about me, but when I have to alter a lot of memories, like I did the day I did the children, the powers start to hurt. They turn on me. So if I was pushed too hard and made some mistake I can't be blamed" I defended myself, before grabbing the girls arm again and scanning. "And there was no mistake. The tampering may have been a little weaker than the other ones but it was perfect. Some alternate source has been weakening it over time."

Nobu frowned at these words, before turning away from me, gesturing to the secuirty guard at the doors. "Go to her residence and run a full detail. Have someone discreetly check the others, but not so they notice. We can't have anymore turning up here" he ordered. The security guard nodded and hurried off, before Nobu turned back to me.

"Very well, its time for us to rejoin the others," he said, indicating the door

"No!" I snapped. "I was promised those children would have a normal life. Your father promised they would be protected. Something is clearly wrong here."

"We're dealing with it," said Nobu through gritted teeth.

"And what about us? We were supposed to be awoke years from now, not to be used as some kind of assassin squad. We were supposed to get a normal life too."

"You think any of us have a normal life Soa!" Nobu snapped. "Noone has had one since the Nation was formed, but we've done our best for the children. And we've only rewoken you now because we had to. So don't act all high and mighty with me. This whiny behaviour is not what I expected of the legendary PPR."

Noting the anger in his eyes at my questioning, I reached out a hand, and quickly erased the argument. It wouldn't do to have the person in charge of your training mad at you, even if you didn't necessarily agree with it. It seemed things out there may have been worse than we suspected.

"What about her?" I asked gesturing to the girl.

"I will decide what happens to her. She will sleep for now, and be kept in a separate part of the castle. I think she can be trusted but I'm not sure how the PPR would react to seeing her. Now come, you surely must be eager to rejoin the others," he suggested, indicating the door again, unaware it was for the second time.

Soa re-entered the room, followed cloesly by Nobu. Soa sat down quietly and picked up her sunglasses and put them back on.

"The first thing we need to do is work out how to use these things. I've been staring at the screen for ages now!" M complained.

I grinned. "You just have to sweet talk them. I used the right words and managed to get to the internet!"

"And you sounded like an idiot at the same time." M retorted.

I lifted the sunglasses and pulled a face at M.

Nobu shook his head and sighed. "Nico, get off the internet." He looked at the others in the room. "Nico's right though. These compters are voice activated. Once you speak to them, they are coded to respond to your voice only. If you try to use someone else's glasses, you will receive a nasty shock."

Finn removed the glasses slowly and sat them on the table. "Uuuh, I think I might sit this one out."

Nobu glared at Finn until he put the glasses back on.

"Now, this is what i want you to attempt to do..."

Meanwhile...

Arts and Cal were lead outside and into the garden behind the mansion. Eventually George lead the pair to a cottage, secluded by trees. He fished out a keycard, and swiped it in front of where the door knob should have been. The door opened, and George waved them in.

Arts walked in first, and looked around the room. It was one large, barely furnished room, except for a bed. She turned to george and raised an eyebrow.

George shrugged and replied, "Well, it's just in case you... well... you know."

"Not gonna happen." Cal growled.

Arts looked away.

George cleared his throat. "Well, this is the main room. "As you noticed, the door does not have door knobs. Nor is it breakable. It looks wooden, but it is very thick steel, unable to be penetrated by anything. It is also the only way in or out of this cottage." George then pointed at the window. "The glass is shatter proof. You could shoot anything at that and it wouldn't even crack. Obviously you have noticed that there is very little in here besides the bed. IF you wish to be in separate rooms, there is another room through that door." George pointed to another door, identical to the one that lead into the garden. "You can open it by pushing on it. It will lock automatically, so if you go in there, you don't come back out until tomorrow. Are there any questions?"

Cal remained silent, while Arts shook her head.

"Very well, come this way."

...

Mika was giggling very loudly when Arts and Cal re-entered the room.

"You laugh like a girl!" Becky grinned.

"Seriously, you guys should check it out!"

"Check what out?" Arts asked.

"The internet," Mika grinned. "Seriously, I don't understand how we lived without these glasses!"

Arts sat down and put her glasses on. Nobu explained how to use the glasses, while Cal sat in the corner, glaring at Arts.

I took my glasses off and noticed Cal glaring. I elbowed Becky, and asked quietly, "I wonder what his problem is?"

She removed her glasses and looked at Cal. She shrugged, and whispered "Must be cause of the full moon."

As I put my glasses back on, Cal turned towards me and growled.

As I put my glasses back on, Cal turned towards me and growled.

Calvin grasped the glasses off of his face and chucked them across the room sending them into a million shattered pieces. Nobu made a small weeping noise.

"What on earth are you doing Calvin?" He asked quietly.

Cal growled again, closing in on Nico. Finn took initiative and moved infront of Nico.

"Dude, what are you doing? Come on, this isn't cool."

But Calvin only pushed Finn out of the way, inching closer to Nico as she tried her best to not look afraid.

"Help." She squealed, as he jumped ontop of her. He started tearing at her clothes while we all sat their motionless. Nobu coughed and looked at a clipboard lying on the table. He picked it up and started reading off the side effects of a full moon.

"Power-urine...Exploding feces...Ah, here, sexual aggressiveness!"

We all nodded as we uncomfortably watched Nico's clothes get literally torn off her body. Arts felt the need to stop the craziness.

"OOooooh Calviiiiiin." She cooed.

He turned around, his eyes a piercing shade of yellow. He un-mounted Nico and made his way towards her. She grinned and left the room, heading to the Cottage outside of the mansion. We all glanced at Nico trying her best to cover herself.

"My suit...err...was...clawed off of me..." she said to Nobu.

"I thought that couldn't...er...happen."

He shrugged his shoulders.

"There's a first time for everything, follow me, I'll get you a new suit."

Nobu strutted out of the room, Nico following behind him. I watched as Finn caught a glimpse of her and I swatted him.

We all sat in an awkward silence until we heard a loud growling noise coming from the cottage outside. We collectively ran to the window to see the small house shaking back and fourth. We ignored it and went back to our seats when Nobu and Nico came back in. She had a new catsuit on and didn't look as red as she did before.

"Alright, so everyone get your glasses on, and I'll show you how to use them. Then after this we'll be having some individual skill tests starting with Finn and M, then working our way down."

I smirked, what kind of skill testing could I possibly need? I batt my lashes at whoever I want and they're instantly head over heels. But anyways, we continued onto our lesson about the computer lenses.

We put on the glasses and looked at Nobu waiting for instructions.

"Say your name followed by thank you."

We all stated our names, then thanked the computer lenses waiting for the rest of the instructions patiently.

*Will patients M and Finn please continue to the laboratories for their specified skill tests*

A voice boomed on the speaker. We both nervously got up out of our seats.

"How do we get to the laboratories?" I asked curiously.

Nobu turned his glasses off, and looked toward the window.

"Follow your senses." He said wisely.

I looked at Soa thinking she might know but she was too busy playing with her computer to care. We left and went down the hallway to go to our skills test.

Great post, Mickey! (hope it's ok to call you that)

Damn it, classes are eating into my newfound MFC time. And when I am on, I've been diving into the archives to get a better idea of the past. We have changed so much in writing style since then.

I might post, but it'll be in a few minutes.

Sure! And thank you :original:

It was an odd feeling to be sleeping, but at the same time hearing some voices sneaking into my consciousness. Everything felt floating, even my body. I had been in this state for a while now, but couldn’t tell for how long. Apparently they were checking me in some way. As though from distant, I noticed a woman was touching my arm. Then it felt like someone was flipping through my memories, finally reaching something I felt like a wall. When it was touched, a flash of memory shot through my mind once again, this time, however, it seemed new. I couldn’t remember remembering the scene before. It had been the same touch from afar, and then my mind had gone blank. Just blank. Forcing the thought off as well as I could in this state, I drifted back into a deeper sleep. But it didn’t take long. Something in me was too curious to let the chance of being filled in about what was going to happen to me pass. There were single words and phrases, not enough for my dazed mind to make sense of them.

“has to be ... timing ... shouldn’t ... place exists ... fault ... memory alteration ... source ... detail ... discreetly check ... up here” I dozed off again, exhausted by the struggle of keeping myself half-awake.

Some time later, I realized the air was a little bit warmer, and the room a little bit darker. It had to be a different room, apparently I was supposed to sleep some more. Before doing exactly that, I wondered how long they were going to keep me like this.

I am! I came in really fast to see how things are going, but I have to go because Sam is pestering me about my housing deposit which is due today and we're going to go do that in about five minutes.:sneaky2:

Power urine, exploding feces...:roftl::roftl::roftl:

It's hilarious until I realized it applies to me too.:naughty:

I'm off now, but I'll be back in about two hours, fifteen minutes? My history class gets out at 2:15. I'll totally post then.:thumb_yello:

Bye ladies!:wub2:
