Yes, I think so! I like the cute duck too! But the doll with the phrase looked mischievous in an adorable way!

there's a tin toy beneath the duck...:boxed: do you see it?

:( it's a sad tin toy and i wrote "I’m a wind-up toy in an up down world

If you leave me all alone, I’ll make a mess for sure"

So, I figured out the chord progression for this song for piano, and i'm going to figure it out on guitar later, but I was wondering if anyone was interested.

Maybe I should make a new thread for how to play the new songs, because I think I'm going to start working on Toy Boy next. I know we have several musicians on here who like to plunk out some of the stuff by ear, which is basically what I did, but I think it's pretty accurate.

Whatcha think?

I recorded Toy Boy, on piano, and I'm figuring out Good Gone Girl. A thread might be a good idea, but it might be naughty. I don't know if Mika would like that. :naughty:

Ok, this song is confusing.

I hear both of the following:

"You've got children and a wife, a perfect little life"

AND

"Blame it on the boys who were hitting on you"

That's sure what it sounds like. Which is very confusing. Like, a follow-up Billy Brown? I feel like I'm missing something.

No, you can say you love it! I love it! :wub2::wub2::wub2:

OK, I'm slowly but surely getting there with the lyrics... here's what I

have so far. BTW, I have to say in the vlog and in the videos, I believe

he's saying "he's got a face to make you fall on your knees"... That's how

I hear it in both places. Anyway:

Blame it on the Girls

He's got looks that books take pages to tell

He's got a face to make you fall on your knees

He's got money in the bank to thank and I guess

You could think he's livin' at ease

(Like lovers of the good book show?) -- what's the matter

He's certain there is so much more -- what's the matter

While you're wondering what the hell to do

Are you wishing you were ugly like me?

Blame it on the girls who know what to do

Blame it on the boys who keep hitting on you

Blame it on your mother for the things she said

Blame it on your father but you know he's dead

Blame it on the girls

Blame it on the boys

Blame it on the girls

Blame it on the boys

Life is simple but you never fail to complicate it every single time

You could have children and a wife, a perfect little life

But you blow it on a bottle of wine

Like a baby you're (.....) -- what's the matter

Always looking for an axe to grind -- what's the matter

While you're wondering what the hell to do

We were wishing we were lucky like you

Blame it on the girls who know what to do

Blame it on the boys who keep hitting on you

Blame it on your mother for the things she said

Blame it on your father but you know he's dead

Blame it on the girls

Blame it on the boys

Blame it on the girls

Blame it on the boys

Life is simple but you never fail to complicate it every single time

You could have children and a wife, a perfect little life

But you blow it on a bottle of wine

Blame it on the girls

Blame it on the boys

Blame it on the girls

Blame it on the boys

I'm close... I mean, Mika, am I close? :naughty:

Give me another day and I'll get it

thank you!! :flowers2:

Did you see the lyrics I transcribed? I do think it's "you could have children

and a wife, a perfect little life" and "Blame it on the boys who keep hitting on

you."

I almost think this is Holy Johnny in another incarnation --

Johnny was a looker

and a downright whore, I assume sleeping around a lot, right? Imagine a

good-looking young man who is interested in both sexes -- he *could*

have children and a wife, a perfect little life, but... he blows it on a

bottle of wine, possibly meaning he'd rather go out and have a good time,

without settling down. So he blames it on the girls "who know what to do,"

blames it on the boys who keep hitting on him... In other words, how can

he resist? It actually makes a lot of sense to me.

ETA: Also, I think this guy is a little conflicted -- he thinking there's something more...

which is why maybe he's wishing he was ugly. In the meantime, onlookers

are wishing they were lucky like him, while he's wondering what the hell

he should do...

Doesn't mean I'm right, just means I've put it together in a way that

makes sense in my own head. Which, I admit, can be a mixed up scary

place. :naughty:

THANK YOU DEB! I had read over the lyrics, but didn't read it that closely. Thank you, that makes so much more sense! Deb, you are amazing. :wub2:

Well done Deb!

This song is so f*cking fantastic. It's so rhythmic and I love the way the lyrics flow.

Like a baby you're (.....) -- what's the matter

I think the missing bit here is "stubborn child"

No, you can say you love it! I love it! :wub2::wub2::wub2:

Oh, that makes sense. Thanks!

And you're right about how the lyrics flow -- I just love "you could have children and a wife, a perfect little life"... and in the video, I love the way

he sings that phrase, walking toward the audience and nodding his head...

I really do find the other songs quite good, but this one just really stands

out for me. :wub2:

Loving discussing these songs, so far so good!

The lyrics are really nice... I love how "What's the matter" is inserted like someone's asking from the outside, but really fits the song.

And the lyrics are so well played... You can see he's put a lot of his energy and himself onto these songs:wub2:
