suzie
Thank you for arranging this, Deb. You made it possible for me to see Mika in absolutely top form. I am not sure if I will ever be so lucky again to experience anything similar:teehee:
sariflor
Thanks SO much Deb!!! For all your efforts on MFC, of which the iTunes example is only the last. It's very appreciated!
dcdeb
So thanks Deb , lets share a small glass of bubbly with her Aww, this is very sweet, thanks. And very embarrassing. But totally unnecessary, really, because I know that all the mod/admin team works really hard. This was just something that I really wanted to make happen, and we were lucky enough to have the cooperation of Mika's team on this. I'm glad that it basically worked out, even though I've heard there were a few glitches. Wish I could have been there to make sure it all went smoothly (and maybe to see Mika, too ) but I hear that a few MFCers were able to look after things -- so thanks to them as well! you deserve a pat on the back - day at the spa - full body massage - facial - mani-pedi - the whole works!!! We love and appreciate you more then you probably realize!!! Thanks Holly, I would take the spa day right about now! to Deb. Thanks! You may be interested to know that as we didn't have a sharpie earlier in the day, we used your DC pen to write the numbers on our hands. You were there in spirit! That's a very nice thing to tell me, thank you! Deb, you are golden !! Not yet, BS -- but at the end of the month, when I officially turn the big 5-0, my GOLDEN anniversary -- I will be! Anyhow, thank you all for this and now I'd like to slink back to being behind the scenes...

dcdeb
That was DEB's idea?? Nice one!! Thanks for that amazing opportunity!! Hmm, you say that like you're surprised I might have had a good idea! oh dear no!giving mfc tickets for the itunes came from team mika!! but deb followed all process step by step, highs and lows, and included stress! Actually, Robi, that's not entirely true. It definitely was NOT Mika's team's idea to begin with. I think the way the whole thing evolved was like this: Christine said something to me one day about Paolo Nutini giving away a couple hundred pairs of tickets to his iTunes gig. Then I said something like, gee, I wish we could do something like that for MFC. So then one day back at the end of June -- just before NYC, in fact -- we suggested it to Mika's management in an email and they said yeah, OK, how many tickets do you want? I said, well, Paolo Nutini is giving away a couple hundred pairs... and of course, they laughed at me. So I said, well, of course we want as many as we can have. Please. Time went by and then Mikasounds started giving away tickets and I thought that was the end of our chances of getting any. I was pretty depressed about it, and asked again, and on our very next phone call with them they came back with, "We can get you 50 tickets to give away." Except that there was a problem with how the tickets would be collected and they needed to work that out. So we couldn't go ahead with a giveaway until that problem was solved. So I waited and nudged and emailed and phoned and wheedled and cajoled every other day until finally last Sunday they came back with the OK to go ahead with the giveaway. And so we did it. So you see, it really was a team effort.
