So, Germany has decided!

LENA will be performing "Taken by a stranger" at this year's ESC in Düsseldorf.

This song got 79% of the German televotes tonight.

I actually really like it, very the Cure, very the Bird and the Bee, very dark :wub2:

Might end up in the Top10 I believe...and that would be pretty much a satisfying result.

I like that song :thumb_yello: It might easily end up in the top10. I find it a bit weird that Lena is there again, though... On the other hand, I like Lena. I loved her performance last year.

The song is very catchy...but I'm not sure anymore if it's gonna be doing well in Eurovision. But there is a video clip now, and I think it suits the song very well. Lena - Taken by a stranger It starts around 0:14.

Anyways, I finally booked my train tickets back to Germany for the Eurovision weekend. Will be celebrating with friends in Düsseldorf.

They are actually planning (the city of Düsseldorf) to set up the largest big screen ever (6300 square metres) so that everyone in Düsseldorf can follow the event. :thumb_yello:

I have a lot to catch up on this thread, it seems.

I have just listened to the last 3 songs on this page, and since you asked, let me share my thoughts with you.

@Cassilda The Austrian entry is a traditional pop ballad type. I think the beginning of the song is a bit awkward but when the music starts playing it turns into a good song and she sings it well.

@coolcat I think the song itself is similarly catchy to last year's entry , but this time, since it is guys singing, maybe Latvia will go through to the final. I don't know why last year's song didn't...

@Ängi I loved the Estonian entry last year (it was one of my favourites) - although the video version was better / more exciting than the stage performance. This year's entry fits Eurovision better in terms of the song being catchy and the performer resembling Katy Perry :teehee:

and here, let me state that I feel that the entries from many small countries (I am thinking about the Baltic countries in particular) suffer from these places being lesser known and less in the 'top of mind' of people when it comes to voting. Such a shame. In previous years as well there were some really good songs from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia that were neglected by voters. I hope this year will be different.

This is the Serbian entry performed by Nina (composer Kristina Kovacz).

The title is a bit tricky to translate, it basically means Magical (he) :naughty:

The song is on the opposite side from the last year entry (Milan Stankovic and Balkan), but I find it complicated, even though this girl has a lovely voice :))

  • 2 weeks later...

We have the Hungarian entry, finally.

I think it's pretty catchy, so in theory we should do well this time. :original:

Hmm I actually quite like this one. Her accent isn't so weird this time.
