Elizabeth.C
I think that one could also say that the biblical Adam and Eve story is ultimately about totalitarian control and power. God wanted the total control, and told them to stay away from the apple (without providing an explanation of why this was necessary). When Adam and Eve 'disobeyed', he unleashed the massive punishment and showed no mercy or love. I think it's very OTT, personally, and shows a huge need to control and manipulate. Anyway, this is not really the topic so I will STFU yep, I agree with you, that's what Adam and Eve was about. .. on the whole "old" part of the bible God is like that ..... in the "second" part of the bible, God's different ... this makes me remember something i saw on tumblr "Bible fandom is so small" - "it must be cause there are so many things in season one that are contradicted in season two" __ The video is no longer available ! does anyone has a version for download it ! I didn't download it before

suzie
I still think he saysWell if god is a priest and the devil a slut Well that's a reason for nothing: I can't listen to it right now but 'nothing' makes more sense to me than 'loving' in this context. sariflor
...and Mika summed it up with one word: machismo. What is that though? the only 'machismo' that I know is the Spanish word, which means chauvinism. Do we think that he's using the Spanish term then? suzie
What is that though? the only 'machismo' that I know is the Spanish word, which means chauvinism. Do we think that he's using the Spanish term then? yes, he confirmed that already. He uses a mix of Spanish (padre, madre, machismo) and Latin . @mellody Thank you for the link you posted on the other thread Whilst we are awaiting a better version, this one is perfect in terms of hearing what he actually sings. So, he clearly uses Spanish for father and mother and if we take that into consideration I think now weare closer to the 3rd line... deo de madre - mother of god di ode madre - gods hate the mother .... everyone is to choose what they like @basicamenteyo : any thougths? Marilyn Mastin
Padre deus deus machismomadre deus deus machismo dio de madre deus machismo deus esso (?) santo spirito So then it seems like he's talking about "Father" (Padre) and "Mother" (Madre) I wonder if Deus means "Son" I don't know if it does or not. Spitito deff means "Spirit" So it's (possibly) Father (and Mother) son and Holy Spirit.

suzie
no, deus - dei the phrase does not get recognised as Latin if I use it with dio. @Marilyn deus is god in Latin grammatically 'di ode' would be correct though: gods hate... mari62
the phrase does not get recognised as Latin if I use it with dio.@Marilyn deus is god in Latin grammatically 'di ode' would be correct though: gods hate... exactly, but the sentence is a mixture of Latin and Spanish and maybe fictitious words 'it's di' not 'deus' and and I don't know if 'odi' would be correct for 'hate' IMO it's dio de madre Lucrezia might help us
suzie
@mari62 I think he only uses Spanish for machismo and father + mother. di is the plural of deus (gods) and ode means hate whilst dio is not a form of deus at all in Latin. deo does though, and I think he is likely to have meant mother of god: deo de Madre in a Spanish Latin mix and English pronunciation:teehee: Rosa speaks both languages to some extent, I wonder where she is. Although I think she gave up on this due to the grammar a long time ago. Edited August 8, 2012 by suzie
mari62
@suzie: I get 'dio de madre' meant as 'god (was born) from a mother' , but its just my interpretation well, we'll get to know soon.... hopefully
