Sperimentatore instancabile, venerdì porterà al Teatro Sociale di Como il suo repertorio in chiave sinfonica. Ennesimo tassello nel suo tentativo di riscrivere il vocabolario del pop. «Erano più avanti negli anni 70 e 80: Laurie Anderson, i Genesis, oggi sento il bisogno di osare» dice davanti a una platea di ragazzi con voti altissimi in materia di musica. Mika spiega la sua ricetta per il futuro: la ricerca della personalità. «Anche se in chiave commerciale, i giovani devono avere il coraggio di proporre qualcosa di diverso superando lo snobismo di chi giudica la musica a tavolino». Lui che nel sorprendere e scommettere su nuove collaborazioni ha sempre dimostrato coraggio. Tra le ultime esperienze un pezzo con Battiato e uno con il collega Fedez. «Musicalmente mi sento completamente incostante: la mia più grande paura è cadere nella mediocrità quando scrivo. A inizio carriera pensavo sempre alle conseguenze di quello che facevo. Ora mi sento più versatile. In modo più naturale, magari fra qualche anno proverò a fare anche teatro. Comunque sarò sempre un performer». Mika racconta poi il suo rapporto con la Russia. Il Paese che più si è messo di traverso alla tutela dei diritti civili. Con Putin, Elton John ha preso appuntamento. «Non avrei niente da dirgli, ma ultimamente ho ricevuto due inviti per suonare in Russia. Sarà una grande opportunità per fare qualcosa di provocatorio, rispettando il pubblico e senza bisogno di recitare una parte: basteranno le parole delle mie canzoni». Il tema si sposta sull’Italia. «Non ho paura degli italiani, ma temo alcune delle tendenze politiche di questo Paese». A battezzare la nuova stagione di «X Factor», come ospiti ci saranno i Duran Duran. Al via 12 talenti sopravvissuti ai 50 mila iscritti. «Ci saranno cose nuove, progetti interessanti — conclude Mika —. Intanto andrei a bere una birra con il mio talento Leonardo Marius Dragusin: un emigrante, faceva il parrucchiere. He must have been tired, he's just finished touring, has a tight schedule and before the Faccia a Faccia he had the XF Press Conference.
