Thank you Suzy:blush-anim-cl:

I guess, but it also helps that Mika's songs are pretty simple:teehee:

My hope for the studio version is that he still pronounces it "hai you...".

Whatever he's doing to the vowel sound in the word "hey" - in the part that goes "hey you, what's a good girl like you" is the same sort of raising that changes "find yourself a big lady" to "find yourself a big lai-dee!"

Am I making sense? :teehee:

I love it. :wub2:

I agree; I love it too! I hope we still hear it in the same way in the studio version! I'm sure we'll be amazed when it comes out!I love the accoustic version of Rain too but the little bit the studio version of Rain makes my heart melt everytime with the extra rain drop music and Mika's beautiful voice...more emotions to come for sure!

I'm still listening to Good gone girl like a mad woman ;):) and I came out with a few different words ; obviously not everything is perfect (as in life!) so tell me what you think! It makes sense if the girl was going to get married and said no instead of yep on her wedding day, so instead of being a good girl at the mass she prefered to dance with the devil ( run away with a total stranger) The good girl was gone and a friend of the unlucky groom has seen her and tells him what she's up to (hanging out in bars and moving to California) Then she becomes a "bad girl"(a prostitute), she takes another name "April" because she needs to survive in the "brutal, shimmering" world that she tries to live in but which wasn't meant for her because deep inside she is still the good girl she was around 17. She just took the wrong decision because she was too young, but if she could go back in time, she'd say yep to her fiancé.

That's my interpretation anyway, but of course we have to wait for the cd and booklet with lyrics!

Good Gone Girl

Could you believe

The same old story

Yeah it haunts me, though I've heard it all before

Her name was Georgia

And she was gorgeous

When she had altered vowels yep to no

Should have gone straight to the mass

Danced with the devil to the last

Play the wounded soldier

In a rush just to get to know ya

Hanging out in the fancy bars

With the boys who play guitar

Though that I had to warn ya

She's gonna make it out to California

Hey you, what's a good girl like you doing in this brutal world?

Well it's good gone girl

Is that true, the life you wanted

You were not 17

With a good girl dream

Ooooooooo

Good gone girl

Would you believe the same old phonies

Those painted ponies

That you've ridden all before

Her name was April

But she was hateful

Enough to make you want to run right out the door

Is it really what you want the most

Life with a champagne toast

When the end of the night gets tricky

Don't you know that beggars can't be picky

Lookin' out for a man who's golden

Doesn't matter if his wallet is rollin'

He's looking at you like a desperate hunter

Sugar daddy but he's just a munter

Hey you, what's a good girl like you doing in this shimmering world?

Well it's good gone girl

Is that true, the life you wanted

When you were not 17

With a good girl dream

Hey you, what's a good girl like you doing in this shimmering world?

Well it's good gone girl

(...) the life you wanted

You were not 17

With a good girl dream

Ooooooooo

Good gone girl

Ooooooooo

Good gone girl

Ooooooooo

Good gone girl

Ok heard some different bits of lyrics !

The end part is...

She's walking around allover the town, needs somebody to notice but the goodness gets her down.

She's happy to choose somebody to use, Good gone girl she's got nothing left to lose.

As for the main part...

-Could you believe the same old stories, they NEVER bore me tho I heard them all before

-I wanted you but you were only 17...

-dance dance to the tune without you?

-???to the last

?? devil to the mast

-so I'm bringing you to California(?)

-I can do what you wanna do most

?? champagne toast

-Looking out for a man who's golden

Will come back if more make sense! :roftl: they sound different everytime he sings them!

xx

That's about what I hear too! The Ancienne Belgique sound is a lot better and you can read his lips too, so that's big help...but the begining is missing!

I love the whole song; I can't wait to hear it on the radio as a single! (Obviously I'd love to hear it live too when I get a chance!)

Thanks everyone for sharing the lyrics you hear, we'll end up with the whole song at the end!

In the chorus I hear: ''Dance dance to the life you wanted'' but I don't think that makes a lot of sense?:roftl:

Yes, that's brilliant! It really sounds like it!:thumb_yello:

As for the meaning, it could be that she's made the wrong choice, so she has to cope with the consequences now and pretend she's happy:thumb_yello:

I kind of picked up bits and pieces from everybody in in this thread, so thanks to all good gone girl lovers out here and let's keep on searching!

Someone needs to ask him at the gigs see if we get the whole songs out of him by New York!
