Come stai vivendo questo periodo?

E surreale. E difficile avere la forza di sognare. Trovo il domani inquietante, ma  non voglio esserne vittima. Ci sono persone anche nella mia famiglia che hanno perso il lavoro, ma la paura e una gabbia, mentre ora, ancora di più, dobbiamo difendere la nostra libertà.

Dal tuo passato ci sono fantasmi ancora presenti?

Ho sempre temuto di non riuscire a rimanere curioso, di non  riuscire piú a connettermi alla musica, all'arte, ma anche alle persone. Sono le cose che mi rendono felice e la felicità non arriva da sola, bisogna mantenerla.

A XFactor sembri aver puntato proprio sulla libertà, con una squadra di talenti eccentrici, fuori dal coro. L'arte passa dalla diversita?

Si, rna anche dalla trasparenza. Quando salgo sul palco o decido di parlare davanti a una telecamera il candore è fondamentale. Invece nella vita personale sono molto riservato, non appaio mai sulle riviste di gossip. Ho creato una bolla attorno a me per poter vivere normalemente.

 

E normalmente vivi in una relazione stabile da 15 anni con il regista Andrea Dermanis. C'è un segreto?

Ce ne sono due. il primo é che collaboriamo. Nelle cose importanti ma anche in quelle banali come per la ricetta Ideale di un risotto al funghi su cui possiamo confrontarci anche 2 ore. Il secondo e che... Iitighiamo. Tanto, a voce alta. Ho molti amici che si stupiscono delle nostre scenate, loro non discutono quasi mai. Di solito, infatti, sono relazioni che non durano.

Sei tra i pochi artisti in Italia che parla serenamente della propria omosessualità. Pensi possa essere utile a chi, come fu per te, si sente "diverso"?

E molto positivo quando una persona nota parla d'amore, ma non basta, non da la forza a tutti. Quello che a me la dava era vedere Prince che ballava e cantava di sesso, poesia, soldi e politica, con leggerezza e Intelligenza. O David Bowie che rifiutava ogni stereotipo sulla sessualità o Madonna che ci giocava e diceva che le donne potevano essere di qualsiasi tipologia. La tolleranza si provoca in maniera profonda, non bastano le parole o il potere della celebrità. Serve l'arte.

La tua arte come sta?

Ho la fortuna di potermi mettere in gioco. Ho 37 anni, è il momento giusto di fare quello che la vita mi sta obbligando a fare: ricercare, rinnovare.

Senza tua mamma al tuo fianco fai più fatica?

C'è la malattia ed è una cosa molto grossa da gestire. Però l'amore c'è ancora di più. Ed è l'unica cosa che mi da la forza per andare avanti.

E sempre stata il tuo punto di riferimento. Ora a chi ti stai appoggiando?

Noi siamo il punto di riferimento: io, la mia famiglia, i nostri amici del cuore, anche i collaboratori. Lavoriamo tantissimo tutti insieme. Mia madre è la persona che ha creato questo modo di funzionare basato sull'amore. Ha creato una troupe che ora si e stretta tutta intorno a lei.

Decise di fare di te "il suo progetto". Ti sei mai chiesto perché ha scelto te e non i tuoi fratelli?

Ha fatto lo stesso lavoro su ognuno di noi. Ma sapeva coscientemente che il mio fa più rumore e tutta la sua energia nel costruire questo progetto è stata l'antidoto a quel rumore. Mi ha sempre detto "Tu non sei diverso da tuo fratello o dalle tue sorelle. E la tipologia del lavoro che fai che è diversa. Ma non vali  un milligrammo in più di loro. Se non ti ricordi di questo sarai miserabile per tutta la tua vita adulta". Ha sempre avuto ragione.

Mika è tornato a parlare della sua dislessia.

 

Il cantante durante un'intervista rilasciata al settimanale "F" ha ripercorso alcuni dei momenti più difficili vissuti a causa di questa problematica.

 

"Quando andavo a scuola leggere e scrivere mi era impossibile, ma non ero scemo, ero come un pesce su un albero", ha dichiarato al magazine.

 

L'artista di origini libanesi ha anche ricordato di essere stato "buttato" fuori dalla scuola in cui andava proprio a causa di questa difficoltà. "A nove anni mi hanno buttato fuori da scuola e addio libri, lettere e persino fumetti", ha raccontato.

 

"Dopo tempo finalmente ho avuto una diagnosi grazie a un test psicologico. Avevo una prova legale per il mio problema. Quando un compagno di scuola tentò di fare il bullo, gli sventolai sotto il naso il test e gli dissi che io ero stupido legalmente, mentre lui non aveva scuse per la sua stupidità", ha aggiunto con un pizzico d'ironia.

 

"Sono riuscito a sviluppare una versione diversa di intelligenza e a trovare la chiave per avere una vita normale", ha continuato.

Il 37enne ha però ammesso di avere ancora grosse difficoltà nella quotidianità. "Non riesco a leggere l'ora sull'orologio. Per scrivere uso la tastiera del computer perché per me usare la penna è impossibile", ha concluso.

 

 

Mika confesses: 'I don't know how to write with a pen'

 

Mika went back to talking about his dyslexia.

The singer during an interview with the weekly "F" retraced some of the most difficult moments experienced due to this problem.

"When I was in school, reading and writing was impossible, but I wasn't stupid, I was like a fish in a tree," he told the magazine.

The Lebanese-born artist also recalled being "thrown" out of the school he went to precisely because of this difficulty. "When I was nine they threw me out of school and goodbye books, letters and even comics," he said.

"After a while I finally got a diagnosis thanks to a psychological test. I had legal proof for my problem. When a school friend tried to bully, I waved the test under his nose and told him that I was legally stupid, while he had no excuse for his stupidity, "he added with a hint of irony.

"I was able to develop a different version of intelligence and find the key to having a normal life," he continued.

The 37-year-old, however, admitted that he still has great difficulties in everyday life. "I can't read the time on the clock. I use the computer keyboard to write because it's impossible for me to use a pen," he concluded.
