Someone told me that he knows Italian quite well, perhaps because he lives in Tuscany and needs to speak it.

Yes, Italian, and Greek. In his podcasts he sometimes translated some words if his guest couldn't find a good word in English.

He was in Greece for about 7 years. And he has a Greek passport now.

He said he can write in greek as well.

I hope you're right, because those few lines do sound quite mean.

Ha ha ha. In Elle Me dit Mika was mean with his mum as well. And we don't comment it at all :lol3: Because the song takes its meaning only in a whole frame. And maybe because in French so it's easier to "swallow"?

Elle me dit
"Un jour je n'serai plus là"
Mais c'est quand elle me dit ça
Qu'elle me dit un truc que j'aime

She sais : one day I will be gone (I will die)

And I like when she sais so

Does it mean Mika wanted his mum's death. No, of course not.

Yes, but Italian and Greek aren't French. It's possible to be adept in some languages and struggle in others. Maybe French for Andy is akin to Chinese for Mika? Which I guess would be more frustrating, knowing he can speak other languages but not this one that is so much a part of his partner's life.

But I think we've gone a little off topic - sorry mods!

He knows Greek, English and Italian, in my opinion he already knows too much!sure maybe he feels uncomfortable when Mika speaks French with his relatives more than anything else for the rest Andy doesn't seem like the type who frequents French environments, that's why I think it's not necessary to speak French at all costs! I'm always on Andy's side anyway! 😄

It starts the fight

harsh words rough words

cover your ears

because the monster wakes up

I am leaving

I will come back later

I will come back to see you

but you, he doesn't like you

so he is jealous

Oh my goodness that's harsh. I can see why Andy wasn't too happy!

I wonder if "il vous aime pas" refers to his fans?? Because if it's supposed to personify France wouldn't it be "toi"? Or would you use the polite form if you personified a country in a song? :D

It refers to Mika's friends who don't speak English :thumb_yello: Mika's fans all speak English (either before becoming his fans or thanks to becoming his fans) and Andy does speak with Mika's fans (in English)

It was so sweet when Andy introduced Mika's song in French in a Canadian show :wub2: "In the words of the great poet sequoi toi et dance" instead of "secoue toi et dance"

Interview for France Inter 4 September 2023

https://www.radiofrance.fr/franceinter/podcasts/l-interview-de-9h20/l-itw-de-9h20-du-lundi-04-septembre-2023-2123785

Some snippets from Twitter:

Again he was talking about Andy.

About having children. Mika would like to have one but Andy reminds him that he is an egoist running from one country to another. And Mika would be a father irresponsible and redundant.

He said as well that they are together for 18 years (?)

Q: How did you do it?

Mika: I don't know. I have to say we argue a lot. I think this is what saved us. We shout on each other and after that everything is OK. If you really want to know the secret how to keep it for so long - for me it's only 18 years - there are people which are together for much longer - you have to scream, scream, scream. And not to break plates.

Well, there are some more topics in this interview like how to fill the emptiness after his mum's passing,  about Jane Birkin, inflation, his fascination for food....

I hope that Mika in these discussions raises the question of what Andy wants. Does anyone have a way to transcribe the entire interview so that he can translate it?

It's not an interview about Andy.

They started to talk about children because Mika said that his sisters have their own families and they don't want to live this crazy life with him when you skip from one country to another.

Anyway I think the message is clear: Andy doesn't want them both to have a child in this conditions.

Anyway in one of his podcasts Andy openly said he doesn't want children.

We are again out of the topic 🤫

Good morning. Sorry Will be a transcription in French of this interview? I Have the impression It Is very intense, the journalist seems to go quite in deepness when She asks him questions, even if She does It in a very soft and Natural way, without making him feel unconfortable according to me. It would be a pleasure to Have a transcription in order to translate It for non french speakers ☺️

it's not a question that I ask myself, please, but both members of the couple should ask each other, I think it's not a unique problem of Mika

Well, it's nothing new.

But one thing is to think and talk about it.

Another thing is a real life. So don't dream too much, Anne :wink2:

Well, I think Andy is right. He'd end up having to take care of the child on his own for most of the time. I don't know how responsible Mika can be or how egoistic he is - he does something important for the world and for all of us with his job of spreading love and joy and making everyone feel beautiful :wub2: ... even if he makes music for egoistic reasons, his music helps many people to feel better. But well, I wouldn't say that Mika is the most reliable person, so I certainly understand Andy's concerns.

So far, Mika always gave as an answer that Andy wants kids but that he (Mika) is too egoistic for having children - and now that Andy said he doesn't want kids, Mika changed the story. :lol3: I suppose for them it might be a "maybe some time, but not now", but if he says that, there'll be people saying "but you shouldn't wait too long!!" - you can't really win with that question, no matter what you say.

Unpopular opinion: I personally think it’s none of our business: because whatever decision he makes in his personal life, it doesn’t affect our appreciation of him as an artist. And everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but this is not a parenting nor a discuss-Mika’s-personal-life forum :sweatdrop: (I have been on those parenting forums and they are brutal: would NOT recommend!! :lol3:

That being said, I do believe he has become careful after having had more outspoken opinions in the past (his opinion on ESC for example), because he knows as no other that whatever you say, will bite you in the a** at some point. I think it’s a perfect answer for a very private topic.
