He was a 13 year old gay boy who committed suicide after homophobic bullying. This all happened at a middle school, a literal child who hangs themselves, I can't even imagine. Hugs to everyone for whom this has brought back painful memories. Un « nouvel outil » annoncé en septembre par le ministre de l’Éducation nationale, Gabriel Attal, alors que la lutte contre le harcèlement scolaire s’est imposée comme un des sujets forts de ces derniers mois. Qualifiée de « priorité absolue de la rentrée », ce fléau a d’ailleurs fait l’objet d’un plan interministériel présenté le 27 septembre à Matignon, la première ministre, Élisabeth Borne, sonnant à cette occasion la « mobilisation générale ». À l’entrée de l’école Dorléac, Renata et Nadia, deux mères d’élèves, se félicitent que le harcèlement soit désormais évoqué plus souvent qu’avant. « Il faut en parler dès le plus jeune âge », lance la première. « C’est bien qu’on en parle, que ça bouge ! Même si c’est malheureusement à cause de cas graves… », renchérit la seconde. Dans toutes les têtes s’imposent les prénoms de Lucas, Dinah, Lindsay ou encore Nicolas, quatre adolescents qui se sont donné la mort au cours de ces deux dernières années (lire ci-dessous). Le dernier cas en date, celui de Nicolas, a d’ailleurs déclenché un audit sur la gestion des affaires de harcèlement dans toutes les académies de France. Si Renata a « vu à la télé » la première dame, Brigitte Macron, et le chanteur Mika s’exprimer sur le harcèlement scolaire, ni elle, ni Nadia n’avaient en revanche entendu parler du questionnaire d’auto-évaluation lancé par le ministère de l’Éducation nationale. « C’est bien », estiment-elles une fois renseignées. « J’espère que ça donnera envie aux enfants de se confier s’ils sont concernés », ajoute Nadia. De leur côté, Amir, Fatima, Samy et Yasmine jugent l’exercice « intéressant » mais s’interrogent sur la façon de « trouver la personne harcelée », puisque les réponses sont anonymes. Aux yeux de Philippe Thoison, tout l’enjeu est là : une fois les grilles analysées, aux adultes de l’école de « faire un travail de miseen confiance » pour « libérer la parole des élèves ». « Osez parler ! », a aussi martelé Élisabeth Borne lors de sa visite, jeudi, au collège parisien Claude-Debussy (15e arrondissement), aux côtés de Gabriel Attal et Brigitte Macron. Le questionnaire - qui vise aussi bien à « détecter des signaux faibles » qu’à « avoir des données actualisées » - n’est pas la seule mesure déployée par le ministère de l’Éducation nationale. Un décret paru cet été permet désormais aux établissements de déplacer un élève harceleur afin d’éviter que ce ne soit l’élève harcelé qui finisse par changer d’école. Depuis le début de l’année scolaire, une dizaine de jeunes ont ainsi été transférés dans un autre établissement. Le programme Phare de « prévention du harcèlement », déployé dans 64 % des écoles et 91 % des collèges, a été étendu aux lycées. Des brigades anti-harcèlement seront créées dans chaque académie, grâce à une enveloppe budgétaire de 30 millions d’euros qui vient d’être validée par l’Assemblée nationale dans le cadre de l’examen du budget 2024 de l’Éducation nationale. Et à partir de la rentrée prochaine seront instaurés des « cours d’empathie », sur le modèle d’autres pays, notamment du Danemark où Gabriel Attal s’est rendu en septembre. Depuis son installation Rue de Grenelle, l’homme politique a multiplié les interventions sur le sujet du harcèlement. « Si j’ai à ce point à cœur de m’engager sur le harcèlement scolaire, c’est peut-être parce que le fait d’avoir vécu des injures, ça a forgé quelque chose », a-t-il d’ailleurs déclaré le 5 novembre dans l’émission « Sept à huit », révélant avoir subi « un déferlement d’insultes et d’injures à la fin du collège ». Presci1108 Posted November 10, 2023 Share Posted November 10, 2023 I started a very long text about all my emotions, but finally, I can't say so much, it would be a total mess. I'm way too moved and grateful for him, he made a wonderful job with those children, he found the best words I could imagine, and I felt at the same time very sad and empathetic AND cheered up and pride of him for that . When it comes to bullying, Mika's story and mine are related in a way it's impossible for me to be clear in my words, since my feelings are not very clear neither, between sadness and reconnaissance. I was at the receiving end of his message as a teenager and I know first hand how his words can help a child. It helped me a lot (like a lot of his fans), in a time where bullying wasn't an issue at all in France and nobody cared about what I lived, as long as I still had good grades, I don't even know who I would be now without him, and I will always be grateful for that. So seeing Mika makes that means a lot for me and probably for a lot of children too. All I can say is all he said made me hurt for him, and also resonated with my past and present. I admire him a lot for being able to speak like that with those children, and very much for what he made about his past... It's a reaction to Mika's speech. But on the other hand as someone said 90% of Mika fans have been bullied. Which sounds scary but we all know that Mika attracts some sort of people who are looking for acceptance and who want to find someone who could help them to manage their trauma. I could see at times how emotional he was getting, I am so thankful for this amazing man for being so open about such a hard topic. It's important to get the conversation about bullying started and Mika is certainly the right person to do this. I have no doubt that he has inspired those children and hopefully they'll take his words to heart and become the best they can be. Watching certainly brought up some tough memories for me. I never really thought I had a "super power" at school but thinking about it now my resilience and strength to be the better person got me through it and I'm proud of who I am today. That's not to say the bullying I experienced defines who I am now, to me that would be letting the bullies win. No! I am who am because of my own actions and doing what I can to rise above hurtful things to reach a positive outcome. For the anti bullying week of awareness in France, I went and spoke about how music and a loving family helped make me happy and gave me a future.
