Dear Mika,

We've just been buried in snow here in Toronto. *Brrr*

My 8 year old daughter hasn't stopped begging me to take her tobogganing, but I'm way too busy chatting with Mika Fan Club members, and watching your last years preformance on Jool's Hootenanny show again, and the brilliant professionally shot Relax video of you performing in Atlanta, that I just don't have the time.

You take her. Because we've recently learned that you'd make a much better sledding playmate. Please and thanks.

Sincerely,

Suzy

Haaaaa... I just saw this... very cute Suze!

MIKA-

While surfing, I found a blog that posted this . . .

'A day or two after George Carlin died, we began seeing political cartoonists’ inevitable, near-identical tributes: Carlin at the Pearly Gates and a reference to the seven words he can’t say in heaven (comic strip writers, with longer lead times, should begin weighing in with the identical gag around the second week in July).

But now there’s a controversy over the fact that Carlin was a atheist, and therefore it’s disrespectful of his beliefs to show him entering Heaven.

I’ll hold off on my own comments until everybody else has had their say.'

. . . Always something, I guess!

Who, among you, know(s) the proper name of

the music used for the film trailer* for

"THE FALL" and will you PLEASE tell me?

MIKA, I've heard this for years and really like it.

A little help?

I couldn't view your link so I searched youtube for the trailer. I read through some comments while listening and saw the answer :wink2:

Hope you like Scarlett Johansen.

Oh, and The Fall looks like a good movie.

:blush-anim-cl: Aww, I wouldn't say I'm smartest. Just resourceful.

And you're welcome. Thank you for bringing it up. Chills - yes me too! I'm enjoying listening to Beethoven now.

:punk: Thank you! He's amazing. I was just reading that he has a vocal range of 4 octaves.

Bobby McFerrin IS pretty amazing.

I've had the pleasure of seeing him perform twice at

The Music Center at Strathmore not far from where I live.

(I have visions of seeing MIKA perform here as well--some day!)

Ohh, Maybe they will if Mika reads this thread. Would it be a perfect place for acoustic gigs?

There is a historic Mansion

there also for smaller events:

The whole set up has it's own METRO stop.

[it's too long a story to tell it all, but I was measured for my

H.S. uniform in the Mansion when the Holy Cross Nuns lived there

and another year the Mansion was used for the "BSO Decorators' Show House."]

BY THE WAY, HAVE YOU SEEN THESE?

The PEOPLE

February 2009

Jack, 8, is DJ whirl champ

EXCLUSIVE

By Amy Nelmes

Little disc demon Jack Hill has been named the world's youngest radio presenter at the age of EIGHT.

Jack has a one-hour slot once a month on Somerset's Star Radio.

He plays his favourite songs and chats about current affairs and funny things at school.

Jack, who had been DJ-ing since he was three with his dad's encouragement, was spotted by Star Radio when he played at a festival in his home-town Westonsuper-Mare.

He said: "I like to play The Kinks, Akon and Mika at the moment.

I also like all the money."

He isn't paid for his radio show but earns £20 for a regular one-hour set at local pub The Major's.

A Star Radio spokesman said: "He's very professional."

Jack, already named the world's youngest club DJ and world's youngest DJ, is in the new edition of the Guinness Book of Records.

His latest title was confirmed by The World Record Academy.

Young Jack's radio record

Wednesday, February 04, 2009, 12:04

AN eight-year-old boy from Weston has set a world record for becoming the youngest male radio presenter.

Jack Hill's feet cannot touch the floor in the studios at STAR Fm Radio, but that has not stopped him from presenting an hour-long slot every month, playing songs from Madonna to Mika.

The youngster, who is a pupil at Walliscote Primary School, caught the bug from dad Bob, who is also a DJ.

He said: "It's all Jack wants to do, music is his life."

"He comes home from school and goes straight on his decks.

"Normally, Jack is quite shy, but when he is on his decks he is a completely different person and so confident."

Jack started spinning records at discos and earned the nickname Jack on the Box, because he had to stand on a step to reach the equipment.

He said: "It feels cool being the youngest DJ on air in Britain.

"My friends say I'm not a DJ because they don't know who I am."

Jack owns his own set of professional DJ equipment, which he bought using gig money and Christmas and birthday presents.

It was during a gig that he was spotted by STAR programme controller Darren Daley, who said: "I brought him out on stage and said, look, this was your DJ, and there was a load of cheering and shouting, so I wondered if he would like to be on the radio."

Jack now has a regular show on the last Sunday of every month, between 3pm and 4pm.

He is also working on a plan to do a joint show with another record-breaker in Italy, Steffano Vennerri, who holds the record for the longest non-stop show ever at 135 hours.

Oh Mika Mika Mika...

You amaze me, so constantly!

If there was one thing I could say to you, it would not be a say at all, only a suggestion- a book suggestion (Waggly-eyebrows smiley would go HERE, if there was one! :P)

...'Stargirl', by Jerry Spinelli.

My absolute faaaaavorite of all time... ever.

It opened my eyes, changed my life- and, you remind me so much of Stargirl! (If she was a male) :-P

I bet you'd lurve it- it's actually not that long, only 200-some-odd pages and an epilogue of sorts.

It's such a nonsensical, sweet, wondrous story of a girl who's just a bit more in touch with what we once were, before ripped jeans and lunch tables came around.

I think you'd enjoy it very very very much- if, by some fabulous happence of nature, you were reading this now while sipping tea. How fantastic would that be?!??

Anyhoo...

Have fun leading your oh-so-magical life, and I hope it's kind to you.

I wish you clear skies and strange new highs, always.

Love, Love, Triple Love,

Luna
