  1. jeyjen, thanx again for all the info! i think they have changed something on the website now, is it possible that the note is gone that said "soon you can book camping"? is there anything new about the booking? i also wrote them an email now, because they didn't answer your questions... when i tell them i can't speak italian, they won't tell me "look on the website" so here's what they answered (they included 3 words in my email ): > I'm going to the Festival from Germany and I have a question about the prices for camping. Are they: > > per person or per tent? per person > per night or altogether? (because it gets cheaper on the 19th and 21st) altogether so if they didn't make a mistake, it's altogether, wow! REALLY cheap! so now i know for sure that i will go anyway, even if mika cancels, i'll probably never again get a chance to stay in florence for 5 nights for only 20 euro! even if i have to pay the buses to the city. there probably is some sort of day-ticket or travelcard for public transport in florence, like there is in many cities, might be cheaper to get around with that. i just hope that the camping still will be possible to book, wouldn't be good if it was already full when i arrive on the 18th. oh, and lets all keep our fingers crossed for ioana, she fears that she might have to be at university and won't be able to go! ioana, i wish you all the good luck you can get (well, ok, not all, we still need some for mika not cancelling - but a lot!) that your university stuff won't be on the same date!
  2. i know the whole topic isn't funny, but this made me LOOOOL!! you know what? we should sue him, too - and if we win, he has to do a concert for all the fans who missed him because he cancelled, and invite us there!
  3. ah you already collect the name suggestions in one of the posts, sorry, didn't see that. as for indesign, i know how to work with it, but i don't have it at home. not yet anyway, might need to get it for my job though, and if i do, will let you know. and about interviewing mika (or the band), i think the best would be if we prepared a questionnaire for him to fill out, someone gives it to him, he does it when he has the time and gives it back to another mfc member at another concert. i think it's more likely to get an interview this way, than to get a "real" interview with him. we could also ask him to write a short message to his fans every month, which we could scan as a handwritten message. don't know if he'd do that though, from what i heard he doesn't exactly like writing. but well, we can ask.
  4. i so know what you mean! i also work at home and get distracted by this forum all the time! grr, i should really learn how to be more self-disciplined!
  5. i'll just post the complete name suggestions list again, with the new suggestions added, so we have it all in one place. this is a brainstorming, so add everything that comes into your mind. the more to choose from, the better. Name suggestions: Pointlessly Delicious MIKA Mikazine Mikamaniacs Mika Fan Club MFC MFC Mag Love Today Mag in Cartoon Motion Mika Monthly MIKAFANTASTIK MIKALICIOUS MIKA LOLLIPOP MAG MIKA CHABBY MAG MIKA IN LIFE MAG MIKA STUCKY MAG Picamag Why Not Magazine MFC Superfans Mag Who is Billy brown? talking about research, add me in for that too, that's something i'm really good at! of course i'll also provide my pictures for the mag, don't have any really good ones yet though. you can find the ones i have here: http://www.mikafanclub.de/bilder-muenchen.php
  6. like the festivals in ibiza or toulon. it's festivals, but it's only one gig per evening.
  7. great, if i ever get an ear infection, pneumonia or whatever, i'll go to the uk or to france, there seem to be some magic healing powers around there...
  8. i'd love to join! i'm a freelance journalist and have also been working as an editor for a well-known german magazine for 2 years, so i know how it all works. i could provide text content and write articles (although unfortunately my english isn't perfect) and help with the organization. and i've studied media computer science, so i'd be able to create a website (see my signature ). of course i could also do german translations, of lyrics or of the whole mag, if it's a success and we want to make it available in different languages. we should choose a format for the mag: PDF, HTML, Flash, JPG? or any other ideas? i'll try to put together the advantages and disadvantages, feel free to add any other pros and cons you can think of. i vote for PDF, it's the closest to a print magazine. PDF (Adobe Acrobat) pro: can be sent via e-mail as one file, no website needed, freedom in layout, can easily be printed, can be saved as a file contra: can't add links to click on (i think? does anyone know?), no easy updates JPG / GIF and other picture formats pro: can be put on a website and/or sent via e-mail, freedom in layout, can be printed and saved contra: see PDF, every page needs a single file, not a good format for text, probably bigger filesize (altogether) than PDF PPT (Powerpoint) pro: see PDF contra: everyone can change it, readers need the fonts that are used installed on their PC (which limits the freedom of layout ) DOC (Word) pro: can be sent via e-mail as one file, no website needed, can easily be printed, can be saved as a file contra: see PPT, layout restrictions HTML (Website) pro: easy to keep up-to-date (e.g. cancelled concerts ), possibility to add links contra: layout only within the limits of HTML (PHP, JavaScript), not a good format for printing and saving, login / database needed, if the mag should only be availabe to suscribers Flash pro: see HTML, freedom in layout, animations contra: expensive program needed (Flash), no possibility to print and save, login / database needed, if the mag should only be availabe to suscribers in addition to the jobs you've already listed, i think we need someone (or also 2/3 people, depending on how many pages the mag will have) who checks the whole content for spelling and grammar mistakes before it is published. quality assurance. and about the name question, here's a list of names that have been suggested by you, and i'll add my suggestions. let's do a little brainstorming and add all suggestions to this list, and then we can choose 10 and make a poll. Name suggestions: Pointlessly Delicious MIKA Mikazine Mikamaniacs Mika Fan Club MFC MFC Mag Love Today Mag in Cartoon Motion Mika Monthly some more content suggestions: a news section (i think it's better if we write down the most important news in our own words than linking to a lot of articles), and maybe someone wants to draw a mika cartoon strip for every issue? and we could have a section where we introduce some of the most active / best known / etc. MFCers - there is this thread somewhere where someone suggested to vote for the funniest, naughtiest, etc. MFCer, that's what i had in mind when thinking of this.
  9. the original thread is here: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3128
  10. i think he's just holding the microphone cable? although, of course, talking about imagination...
  11. heiß? ach, wär das mal wieder schön! die letzten paar tage wars hier a... kalt, hatte sogar schon überlegt, die heizung wieder einzuschalten!
  12. don't know if you already know, but they sell some more tickets for somerset at http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk - it said "sold out" when i looked a few weeks ago, but now they have tickets again.
  13. well, we will see it. if he does another gig within the next, dunno, at least 5 days, it either isn't pneumonia or he's REALLY stupid! he should really start listening to what the MFC has to say, didn't we already tell him on his US tour when he had a chest infection, that he should take a break?! he probably didn't fully cure that infection, and this is what comes from it now.
  14. for those who asked for it, here's the english version of the news on the roskilde website: http://www.roskilde-festival.dk/object.php?obj=a9000f&base=65892774&code=1 Mika cannot play at Roskilde Festival after all The British singer has caught pneumonia, and his doctors have now prohibited him from singing. Mika has lost his voice due to infection. After his pneumonia has worsened, his doctors have prohibited him from singing. Mika deeply regrets that he must let down his audience at Roskilde Festival, and he hopes to make up for it at another occasion. Roskilde Festival is currently working on finding a replacement for Mika.
  15. jeyjen, thanx a lot for your pm! - and just let me know if they answer some time to the mail you wrote, or if they start offering the booking. will any of you guys stay at the festival camping place? i found some cheap hostels now, too, and another camping place, where you don't have to bring your own tent, it's "Plus Camping Michelangelo in Florence", Viale Michelangelo 80, 50125 Firenze - it says, it's located close to the sightseeing points, but i wonder how difficult it would be to reach the festival from this place? as we're on the festival mainly for one day, and the rest of the time we want to do sightseeing, and the festival is not located directly in the city, we think it might be better to stay somewhere closer to the city... but then of course it would be cool if many of us MFCers were together on the festival camping place, then we could party the night through together jeyjen, is there more info about the free shuttle bus you mentioned? so it goes from rifredi station to the festival, right? how long, how often, also at night? do you know? and is rifredi station close to the sightseeing points and town centre, maybe nightlife/clubs? if not, how much is a normal bus to the town centre, are there any direct connections from the festival place? sorry, many questions...
  16. queenie, are you also just staying 1 night?
  17. yeah, i know... but it took me a while to get there, as i was looking for excuses for him. can't find any except for OCD, and as we ruled that out, well... my usual looking-for-the-positive-side-of-things ends here. NJET, MIKA! *slaps him on the wrist* (hope that helps! )
  18. well, taking the current events, this fear is not so irrational...
  19. ah ok, i didn't know that. so what i have is obviously just some other kind of madness, lol! then, um... well. i really can't understand it. cancelling switzerland but being in paris the next day, and cancelling denmark and having another concert a few hours after the cancellation. if he really is ill, he should rest and not do other concerts instead, this is just not fair to the fans who don't get to see him.
  20. mirtilla: i just entered the german words for glitter heart or blink heart in google, that's how i found it. i'm sure they have it on some italian website, too, just try the italian words for it on google. ioana, it takes about 1 week for them to send it. when you order, make a note to them that they should send it with a "maxibrief" via deutsche post, then the shipping will be cheaper (about 3 euro instead of 5)... but not sure if that works if you order more than one, if in doubt you could call and ask, they're very nice on the phone. btw, if you already know your german address, you can order it from where you are now and have it sent to the german address, if time is a problem? and if you don't care about how beautiful the heart looks, i even have a spare one... but the light is red-green instead of red-blue, and, well, it just doesn't look that beautiful. i ordered it on http://www.led-shop.com, but unfortunately didn't read the AGB, where it said that the pictures are just samples and the real thing might look different. that's why i ordered another one on luftballonwelt, i wanted a prettier one!
  21. for people in germany, i ordered mine here: http://www.luftballonwelt.de/shop/product_info.php?products_id=605&osCsid=c69bd5b1ade8b7d5ca275a07d3b07137 - they also ship to other european countries, but then the shipping costs are 10-20 euro. and the website is only in german.
  22. where is that video? i wanna see it!
