  1. To be honest, I am usually not a fan of Mika's collabs and this one probably won't be an exception... It sounds more like a Baby K song (which is fair, since Mika is just the feature artist) but I don't even like his part in the song that much (it's not bad but it doesn't make the song that much better for me, it feels a bit overproduced...). I'll give it a few more listenings but I guess this song just isn't for me.
  2. Being at work and listening to this concert today, I feel so privileged that I had the chance to be there live. :cloud:

And btw, I also feel very privileged that I can listen to Mika at work. :biggrin2:

  3. I'm still not the biggest fan of Yoyo but I have to say that the Indeed performance was probably my favourite so far. It's definitely a song that shines more live and could be fun at concerts, even though I won't listen to it much otherwise.
  4. I have to say I like this song more than Yoyo! Today in the morning I had the urge to listen to the song and that's exactly the feeling I was missing with Yoyo. This part in the very beginning is SO catchy, I wish there would be another part like that in the song. I know it's a sad song but to me it feels somehow comforting. I really like his voice in it. This song definitely gives me the Mika vibes I'm still missing in Yoyo. I had to laugh when he said in the interview something like "don't blame me if I mix up the lyrics, it's the first time I'm performing this song"... YES MIKA, OBVIOUSLY, YOU WOULD NEVER MIX UP THE LYRICS OF YOUR OLD SONGS!
  5. I'm also really sorry for the off-topic, so this is my last reply - I don't know about festivals (ha, we are back to the main topic!) but at gigs you usually can't bring your own drinks or food at all so sometimes you are forced to buy things late at night for the extremely expensive Swiss prices anyway... And that was my whole point, I know that as a local you know where to buy things to save money, but as a "gig tourist" you find yourself in situations where you don't have as many options.
  6. Even though I wouldn't call it cheap, I didn't find my hotel in Paris extremely expensive. But I didn't stay in a hotel in Zurich so I can't compare. I believe you that there are cheaper options regarding food in Zurich, but when you are in the city center (especially as a tourist who doesn't know the city at all), you don't have many other options than fast food, supermarkets are usually rather on the outskirts.
  7. The small supermarket at the train station (the only one that was still open after the gig, I think it was migrolino) was of course a bit more expensive so not even there I could find something for that price...
  8. Interesting, tbh at least as a tourist I found Paris way cheaper than Zürich. Actually I was quite surprised that Paris wasn't as expensive as I thought, especially compared to the south of France (which was the last place in France where I have been before going to Paris last year). There were still affordable restaurants with almost the same prices as in my city, whereas in Zürich even McDonald's seemed expensive to me. But I guess the ranking is based on something else... Anyway, Prisca's post about Switzerland also reminded me of the 1,40 CHF I was trying to spend in Zürich... As I was staying just for the day of the gig, I only brought my card and a few euros. But my mum had 1,40 CHF from our last trip to Switzerland. She said I could spend it for the toilet or something like that... Long story short, I didn't succeed and brought the money back home. There was nothing so cheap in the supermarket and even the toilet at the train station was more expensive... It was literally worthless.
  9. I read it only about the finale, someone wrote Måneskin also didn't sing live. But I really don't know if the information is true.
  10. @Prisca Reading this thread, I really hope you're a better taxi driver than Mika...
  11. I've read that apparently all the guest performances used recordings from the rehearsals...
  12. I agree with all your points, exactly my feelings and thoughts!
  13. I mean of course it had an impact but what I meant to say was that it makes me sad when people are angry about Ukraine winning "because of the war". On Twitter many people were complaining and especially people from countries finishing right behind them were bitter. I just wish people would let Ukraine have this moment without these mean comments. Also their song was actually really good.
  14. Oh, there's another thing that gets on my nerve regarding the voting... People now complain that the competition got political because Ukraine won. But nobody cares that there are juries that every year give 12 points to their neighbours (Portugal & Spain, Greece & Cyprus, Serbia & Montenegro...). Even though they are supposed to rate the quality of the song regardless where it comes from. But apparently, that's not politics...
  15. Yes but you can't compare Spanish or Italian with Czech. The same with French. These are all big languages. If the message of the song isn't clear, people won't vote for it because they don't understand. Some countries even use subtitles because of that (Serbia this year for example).
  16. I'm quite sad that many people think Ukraine only won because of the war. I saw people complaining on Twitter and saying the public was pity voting for them. I mean, I get it, it had an effect but I genuinely think they had a good song and deserve it. Someone even wrote they shouldn't participate in the first place when they are in war and got a ton of likes for the comment... What's wrong with people! I didn't like the Spanish song at all and I'm really glad it didn't win (even though I actually do like Spanish music a lot but I found this song really overrated, it was so generic...). The UK song was solid but I didn't love it either. I really liked Sweden and Italy (Italian songs never disappoint at Eurovision, Italy is always among my favourite ones). So my top 3 was probably Sweden, Italy and Ukraine. I have to say that I was hoping for a better position for the Czech song too because this year I think we had one of the best songs in our history but I guess starting the show didn't do us a favour... On the other hand, I was really shocked how well Moldova did! For me, it was probably the worst song of the night but they got so many points... They even finished 3rd in the Czech voting (after Ukraine and Serbia). Sometimes the results leave me just speechless.
  17. The one time we had a song in Czech, we finished last with only 1 point (in the semifinal). Since then nobody wants a Czech song because of that, that's the reality. We always had the best results with English songs.
  18. I just thought on Tuesday that it would be nice to hear Mika announcing the Czech Republic as one of the finalists...
  19. Tbh, I think it must be this way when it comes to such a big show, the pressure and responsibility is huge and all Europe (& Australia) is watching...
  20. I just saw that many people on YT call the results unexpected and shocking compared to the bets but it seems you had better tips than the bookmakers...
  21. I'm really surprised to see the song Lost and Found in the playlist because it's a Czech song and I don't know where Mika could hear it...
  22. I really hope so because I'm still not the biggest fan of Yoyo and I think Modern Times isn't supposed to be a single if I got it right? So a new song would be great!
  23. Exactly, I also hear another voice towards the end. I still think it might be a collab.
  24. Unfortunately, this one is too repetitive for my taste. Also it sounds rather like a collaboration with a DJ than his solo project?
  25. I have to say that I wasn't too excited when I saw the setlist but then the show was really great, so much energy, it made even the older songs shine!
