JackViolet
Awww. I will miss Pam a lot. Hasn't he been lacing everything he does with a sexual vibe for a while now though? Or attempting to. Depending on your viewpoint. For me, it's getting harder to ignore. Yep. Especially when people yell at him to keep his shirt off and he obeys. Whatever. If he wants to be objectified 'cause he thinks it's good for business or whatever and he likes the attention, I'll just roll my eyes and shut up. I do think he seems to partially believe that what's on stage is "on stage," and what's off stage is not... but that's his problem. For most fans, blogs like these are "on stage" too. I was thinking though that if I were, say, to do some pin-up modeling (ie, something that is admittedly sexual but playful and not degrading), I would of course realize that I was putting a sexual image out there, but I would still be quite offended if people then looked at regular photos of me hanging out with friends and made comments about my ass or whatnot. I might even be annoyed if they made such comments about the pin-up photos, 'cause while I think pin-ups are sexual, I think they are sexual in a coy, flirty way rather than a vulgar way like such comments would be. But seeing that people were posting such comments, I sure wouldn't post casual pics of myself in revealing outfits without expecting the same. --Jack
mandilambi
Pam's gone, but there's no reason why this thread can't be used for more in depth convos.. I suppose.. if there's anyone out there. We'll see what happens.. The latest blog, about the BMW ad, reminded me of an ad that was on 5, 6, 7 years ago.. It took a bit to find it.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOtxCIzavCw enjoy.. Thanks for bringing this back up. I'm still for this topic. I haven't seen the new blog...so I guess I'll watch it now.
Christine
Just for everyone's info, Pam's ban was temporary and will be automatically lifted in a few days. On the subject of ogling of Mika. I'm not crazy about it. It kind of makes me uncomfortable because Mika is 15 years younger so even though I think he's very attractive I don't like to talk (or even think) about him in such explicit terms. He's got a cute ass, he's hot on occasion...that's about as deep as my mind wants to delve into that. But that's me. I'm not going to project my discomfort onto other people because other people's circumstances and feelings about Mika aren't the same as mine. I am especially not going to project my feelings onto Mika because Mika is not a 40 year old woman or a girl who's never been kissed or a child. He's a grown man and I don't know what kind of 25 year old men everyone else has been hanging out with, but I've never come across one who has any problems with the idea of being lusted after. Mika has been sexing it up for a year now and he's perfectly aware of what he's doing. I'd like to see the talk on MFC remain fairly tame for obvious reasons, but if people like Mika for his body I don't think they should be judged and lectured for it. I think it's perfectly natural and it's no indication of lack of respect for him as an artist and a human being. There is plenty of disrespect towards Mika going on in far more tangible ways to worry about a couple of comments by young girls on a message board about his chest or his thigh. Kelzy
Awww. I will miss Pam a lot. Yeah. She's certainly interesting and unpredictable. Yep. The "Sex sells" theory. I was saying the other day I think he's a role-player.. Someone else said to me the other day, during a very strange conversation, "The difference between porn and art is the lighting" And I suppose, with Mika's on stage antics, it's all a matter of where we individually consider the brightness to be classed as Art. If that made no sense then know that it's 4am.. and just ignore me.
babspanky
Banned. No solid idea why. Only assumptions. No. Not if you are going to be fangurlish about it. Probably safest you did it somewhere other than the MFC. You don't want to be held responsible for 250 heart attacks all across the globe. For one very scary moment I thought you had taken me seriously.

Well, there's another one now.. You'd better catch up. Just for everyone's info, Pam's ban was temporary and will be automatically lifted in a few days. I'd assumed that. Thanks for letting us know. There is plenty of disrespect towards Mika going on in far more tangible ways to worry about a couple of comments by young girls on a message board about his chest or his thigh. The only reasons I'd like for it to be tamed down is because we are a public forum and that in keeping with the respect of other members it comes under the category of something not everyone wants to read about for 20 plus pages of a popular thread. But there's far worse behaviour on other forums out there, so really I have no major complaints. Honestly, and I have said it before, in small doses I accept it, in medium doses I tolerate it and then I get to a point where I try to ignore it when it's amped up. The only time I can't ignore it is when I feel it's gone over the line and becomes disrespectful, not just towards Mika but towards the people who are reading the same threads looking for news about the threads intended content and wind up uncomfortably sifting through 20 pages of lustful declarations and sadly finding one or two lost posts in there that were on topic. And that's why we're here Mika's sexuality. Well, I'm not made of ice. He does appeal to me in a certain sexual way. But, I'm more aroused by a mind than a body. This blogging is appealing to me because it's letting me inside that tofu-doll head of his. For one very scary moment I thought you had taken me seriously. I always take you seriously. Not. I would hazard a guess that the majority of people on MFC want it to remain tame. But I don't think you achieve that by lecturing people as if their conversations are sinful and guilt tripping them as if it's some sort of affront to Mika. Mika, who has no interest in sifting through a 5,000-page thread to see what the girls are saying about his chest and certainly wouldn't be upset about it if he did. This blogging is appealing to me because it's letting me inside that tofu-doll head of his. Yeah it's nice to see him talk about things without it being filtered through the media. It's more a series of random out-takes.

Finkster
Just read a bit of this thread for the first time.. I didn't read the blog thread after that mud blog was posted, haha, looks like I missed all the drama. I knew some imaginations would run wild when he started rubbing the mud onto himself. I don't know what went on, so I wont rant about it. But I think I'm going to like this particular blog updates thread better. The other one is too much quick paced chit chat for me to read. Thanks for this.

I appreciated the effort

There is plenty of disrespect towards Mika going on in far more tangible ways to worry about a couple of comments by young girls on a message board about his chest or his thigh. I've just read your comment..I don't read often here But I wanted to say, you read my mind. I agree in everything you said ... Last week I met some MFCers, we chatted a lot, and one of the things I told them was trying to respect other fans, even when it's not easy to put oneselves in their shoes. "Maybe that's not what happened to me, that's not the way I see Mika, but it's the way he/she thinks, and it's Ok", that's what I thought. Personally I never imagined It wouldn't be easy to see Mika as a normal 25-year-old boy. But in a certain way it is. I wouldn't like the people who thinks Mika's sexy and have feelings about that to be critisized a lot. It wouldn't be fair. Thanks God, there's MFCers than even being reluctant to that kind of things tried their best to get on well with the non-reluctant people, instead of saying 'they don't respect Mika'. And one of those MFCers become a good MFC friend of mine, even not sharing my opinions I agree in that he knows what he does. And he doesn't know us, but I guess he wouldn't be much surprised if he knew the things we think about him. But besides that, am I the only one who saw him just cute in swimming costume, and only smiles when he performs shirtless? That happened to me recently, I tried to have a different look. Then I could see it in a different way, but I won't blame me or any other person for having a different experience.

chickadee
Mika may think it doesn't matter where you live, but unless he posts pics of somewhere that I've lived, I'm unlikely to recognize any of them. And if I did, the time that he posts his blogs coincides nicely with the time that I'm asleep, so most of the world will have had a guess before I even get to see them:thumbdown: Am I whining?
