silver
Yeah, the shearers shear the sheep and the woolclasser checks the wool and gets the crap bits off so it's ready for selling. Pretty obvious when you think about it Thanks Thought I'd share a recent pic: PM me all the details (name, weight etc) Oh, and you know how we were talking about hospital food and fish and chips? They had fish and chips on the menu once while I was there and I ordered it (and I thought of you ) I'm honoured

nico_collard
Thought I might get to see another pic of him in here. He's absolutely gorgeous. Thanks I'm trying not to spam people on Facebook with millions of pictures of him, but plan on sharing a few here and there. Of course, I won't be like some other people I've seen and posting pictures of his birth. I'm pleased I got pics of it but people don't need to see him being born. I've been flat out keeping little man settled during the last week that I've hardly been on the computer. I'll try to add some more soon. Oh, I received your card (a week or 2 ago? I can't remember). nico_collard
I guessed he was keeping you busy Just make sure you get plenty of rest yourself Very busy! When he sleeps I feel like I have to do some housework or something so I'm not having naps, but I try and have a bit of a rest around lunch. I could do with a bit of a nap around now though We got some professional pics done a few weeks ago and the photographer posted some on Facebook, so I thought I'd share them here:

nico_collard
Love the pics Teegs, especially these: They're gorgeous, aren't they? I got the disc with the photos from the studio session and the session we had in the paddock this morning, so once I get the rest of my blank DVD-R discs back from Mum and Dad's, I'll have to burn them for the brother and sister. We also got a little keyring with a couple of photos, so I'll have to see if Derek really wants it. If not, it's all mine And we have to agree on some pictures to print off to give to the parentals for Christmas. Luckily for me I'll be allowed to drive next week so I'll be able to go down and get them printed. There's actually a really gorgeous pic of little man, it's a close up of his face and he's wide awake. It's probably my favourite pic, besides the one of me, Derek and little man that you liked. I'm not as far behind as I thought Making a list is always handy Do you have many people to buy for? I'm a bit pleased, my brother, his partner and my nephew are going to the US on the 11th of December (I think), so they're getting money Actually, calendars are a pretty handy present. The photographer was saying that she does up calendars for her Dad for Christmas.

And I always do a themed box of goodies for my cousin, it's become a bit of a tradition now. It's just hard to come up with a theme - last year I did "Sugar and Spice". CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know I'm a couple of months late with it, but still. He's gorgeous! Those are some beautiful pics. Apparently I haven't been here for nearly a year. Go figure. Doesn't time fly? Hey, in three days, it's my seventh anniversary of joining this place. I find that kind of strange. For the first two years of that I was here so much that it felt like its own lifetime. The five years since then feel like they've gone by in the blink of an eye. And, even weirder, I don't feel like I've missed all that much on the Mika front. I mean, I feel like I've caught up with the most important headlines (occasionally I'll come and check the news, even if I don't post) and, since he's not come to Australia, it's OK that I've missed a lot of the minutiae. Anyway, hello Teegs, hello Silver, and anyone else who's a thread regular now that I don't know about. Not that late, he's not quite 6 weeks old He's a lot more awake now than the pictures show. Woah, my anniversary was in May I think. I've forgotten about it the last few years. And yeah, there's not been too much on the Mika front and I somehow don't see him coming back to Oz any time soon. He really is gorgeous, Tegan - what's he called (if you don't mind repeating it for me)? Hi to Chickadee too Thanks! His name is Samuel. I haven't put his name on here before now but I don't mind if it is (esp. since you can't read this thread without being logged on ).

What have you done in the past? Oh all sorts of things - sometimes I will just choose a country and get food and drink related to that (France, Mexico, Thailand, Spain, Turkey, India and yes, Australia ). Other times I will go with a theme like oranges and lemons, things beginning with "B", seashells, honey, berries. Once you've picked your theme, it's surprising what you can find that fits. Sometimes you have to use a bit of poetic licence, eg I did leaves one year and managed to find some wine called "Falling Leaf"

Didn't do anything massive, just went shopping and then Derek cooked dinner and I had some wine (and it went straight to my head ).
