dcdeb
I often find that 'our'(MFC) lyrics are more precise than what you can read in the album booklet, so your work won't be in vain and is most appreciated. I actually decided not to listen to these sound clips anymore, Two listens were enough, now I want to hear them in full. Thanks, Suzie -- you can tell that lyrics bring out the OCD in me, can't you? I can't stop listening! That's exactly how I felt/what I did when Step With Me came on. I'm starting to like this song more and more. Not that I hated it, I just liked it, but now it's growing on me, especially after watching the track by track video. I forgot there was a track by track for this now! *goes back and relistens* I could be staring at somebody new But stuck in my head is a picture of you You were the thunder I was the rain I want to know if I'll see you again see you again see you again Want you to know what you mean to me What would take take you to see... *sigh*

Gatagordinha
Like this one a lot, it's really grown on me. Great euphoric dance sound that manages not to sound dated (unlike Overrated).
suzie
Thanks, Suzie -- you can tell that lyrics bring out the OCD in me, can't you? I can't stop listening! I don't know if it is OCD or not but I often get taken away by the forum, too, if there is something really interesting - mainly new songs to discuss..etc. Now I am deliberately trying to keep away I really need to focus on somehting else now. You can tell my attempts are not working though
kasia87
Thoroughly obsessed with this song after the three second preview. My friend told me when he heard this one he just imagines Mika throwing glitter in people's faces. hahah!!! I can see it too! It's pop-py and just sounds like SO much fun!!! Had it stuck in my head today at work just from the preview.

Christine
Anyone know the lyrics to this part? This is what I hear: Funny how the time goes rushing by And all the little things we leave behind But even then in everything I do Is a little bit of me And a little bit of you
dcdeb
I could be staring At somebody new But stuck in my head Is a picture of you You were the thunder I was the rain I wanna know If I'll see you again I said I love you You said good-bye Everything changes In the blink of an eye It's been a while I still carry the flame I wanna know Will I see you again See you again See you again Want you to know What you mean to me What would take Take you to see I could put a little stardust in your eyes Put a little sunshine in your life Give me a little hope you'll feel the same And I wanna know will I see you again Will I see you again I feel like a fool 'Cause you're not even there I'm writing this song And you don't even care Throw me a lifeline Open the door And pick up my heart that you left on the floor On the floor On the floor I want you to know What you mean to me What would it take Take you to see I could put a little stardust in your eyes Put a little sunshine in your life Give me a little hope you'll feel the same And I wanna know will I see you again Will I see you again Funny, how the time goes rushing by And all the little things we leave behind But even then in everything I do Is a little bit of me And a little bit of you When will I see you again When will I see you again When will I see you again When will I see you again I could put a little stardust in your eyes Put a little sunshine in your life Give me a little hope you'll feel the same And I wanna know will I see you again Will I see you again I could put a little stardust in your eyes Put a little sunshine in your life Give me a little hope you'll feel the same And I wanna know will I see you again Will I see you again Funny, how the time goes rushing by And all the little things we leave behind But even then in everything I do Is a little bit of me And a little bit of you When will I see you again When will I see you again When will I see you again Edited September 16, 2012 by dcdeb

basicamenteyo
Mika: "Ill put stardust in your eyes, when will I see you again?" Dear Mika,if you put any kind of dust in my eyes, youre not gonna see me again. Tell me that this is a sort of English expression, cause if not.... oh well... I dont think that putting dust in eyes is romantic...but who knows,Mika is odd and maybe he likes it

I've actually never heard the idiom that Suzie posted although it makes sense. I just assumed he meant stardust = magic. Like the pixie dust you see coming out of Tinkerbell's wand. Actually, there is something really gay about this word. Last week I re-watched The Birdcage again on tv and I remember Albert talking about sprinkiling stardust during his performance... I can't recall the exact phrase and also, it was a dubbed version but it reminded me of Mika's song right away
tiibet
There is a very popular Finnish song called Stardust (but in Finnish of course) so the expression felt familiar The Finnish song tells about extremely happy people, a young couple in love having stardust in their hair, a mother with a baby stardust in her eyes... basicamenteyo
Thank you very much you all. I was sure it must be a sort of an idiom cause it made no sense. My doubt was more about the "in your eyes" than about the sort of dust. Its like the "heart on my sleeve" sentence. Since it has nothing to do with the Spanish expression it kinda surprises me. So it means something like "Im gonna amaze you",right?? Step by step Ill learn this language

Still, I'm surprised you took the phrase so literally -- seems like it would be easily understood in any language, conveying the idea of something ephemeral and magical. Like Christine said, like the pixie dust from Tinker Bell's wand. Anyhow, just FYI, Stardust is used a lot in popular culture, I think. I know it's also the name of a novel by Neil Gaiman, who also wrote Coraline, among many other works. But more relevantly, I think, it's the title of an old, old, old song that's been covered by nearly everyone from Frank Sinatra to Willie Nelson to Rod Stewart. Have you never heard it? The lyrics (in part) go something like: Sometimes I wonder why I spend The lonely night dreaming of a song The melody haunts my reverie And I am once again with you When our love was new And each kiss an inspiration But that was long ago Now my consolation Is in the stardust of a song

I was just kidding a bit. I knew it must be something like magic but that expression has no sense at all in Spanish. Reading all your explanations, the only thing that could be similar to that is "polvos mágicos". That´s what the little fairy in Peter Pan needed to fly (sorry, I watched the Spanish version and there she´s called "Campanilla" something like little bell, and I have no idea how you English call her). And that, in English would be Magic dust... nothing to do with Stars but with magic. But still, that magic dust is just to make magic, not to amaze anyone, so, no, we have no expression like that in Spanish... And no, I never saw that vid before, thank you!!!! mandilambi
This song is perfection in my eyes. I absolutely adore how the song builds up into this great, heart-pupping anthem (right before the "I feel like a fool" section). In love. <3!!!
