About that interview and the euphory about the " Beirut project " he said he would like to do a thing like this not that he is doing it. I already can hear some people say he is a liar because some missunderstood that part of the interview :wink2:....................

On some ticket sites I found 21:30 Moroccan time. Which probably means he won't be on stage before 22:00 :teehee:, but just in case, so we won't miss anything :wink2:

Interview Mika @ Mawazine 2013

 

Après son triomphal premier concert à Mawazine en 2010, Mika, auteur-compositeur de pop libano-britannique, est de retour pour ravir les fans avec ses plus grands succès. Il sera à la scène OLM Souissi ce soir à l’occasion de la 12ème édition du Festival Mawazine Rythmes du Monde.

 

Après quelques petites anecdotes pendant sa conférence de presse, Mika nous a fait l'honneur d'une interview en tête à tête :

 

Tu avais charmé le public marocain lors de ton premier concert à Mawazine en 2010 ! ça te fait plaisir de revenir une deuxième fois ? Y-a-t-il une certaine appréhension du coup pour le concert de ce soir ?

 

C'est un grand honneur pour moi de revenir jouer au Maroc, je sais que je suis un des premiers artistes à revenir une deuxième fois jouer à Mawazine et ça me donne une grosse pression (rires).

 

Et quels sont les souvenirs que tu as gardé de ton passage au Maroc en 2010 ?

 

J'ai gardé de très beaux souvenirs du Maroc, au début je ne savais pas à quoi je m'attendais vu que je n'avais jamais fait un festival de cette manière dans le monde arabe et dans l'Afrique du nord.

 

Quand je suis monté sur scène et j'ai vu tous ces gens, il y avait des marocains des espagnoles, des français, des tunisiens, des libanais, un beau mélange je dois dire. Pour un chanteur, quand il est en face d'un si beau public, ça donne un feeling énorme, ça te chauffe le coeur et ça te donne une énergie immense ! Je ne pourrai pas oublier ce public chaleureux qui chantait et dansait !

Justement, tu avais enflammé Mawazine avec un show inouï, est-ce qu'on peut s'attendre à la même ambiance scénique ce soir ?

 

Ce soir, ça sera un show différent mais ça reste propre à mon univers musical avec toujours ces petites surprises (sourire)

 

Tu as sorti "The Origin of Love", ton 3e album, l’automne dernier ! Tu prépares la suite pour bientôt ?

 

En ce moment je suis entrain de préparer la suite et ça sera donc mon 4ème album ! Le son est très pop, il y a beaucoup de piano et tend vers ce son très pur des années 70. "The Origin of Love" est un album tellement produit que je voulais quelque chose de différent, un peu vintage (sourire) dans l'attitude comme dans la prod mais toujours avec un son très pop.

Merci à HIT RADIO, c'est un plaisir d'être de retour au Maroc et à ce festival de Mawazine que je trouve absolument fantastique et beau. Dans la vie, on ne dit jamais deux sans trois, j'espère que c'est vrai (rires) donc à très bientôt :)

Very curious about who he will be working with ! Hopefully it'll be an EP and not a full album. I don't want Mika to become a " world music " artist.

Thanks for the links! I registered for the higher quality one but does anyone know how to hide that google+ thing so I can record this for you guys in okay quality?

It vanishes if I go in the full screen mode. But I couldn't remove it in the smaller player either :huh:

Thanks, yeah I saw that but if I record a too big part of the screen the file will end up huge, but I guess I'll record it with that G+ thing in the way anyway, just in case they don't rebroadcast this show again :)

I just got it away with the NoScript-Addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/?src=search): After installing only allow the scripts "marockstream.de" and "macockiptv.com". It works for me this way, but I have this Addon anyway, I don't know if you want to install it just for that (and you need to get used to it a little bit, because while it runs, you have to allow scripts on all sites manually, otherwise they won't work in the right way, for example MFC and so on...)

Entretien avec Mika : je garde un beau souvenir du Maroc

 

Juste avant de donner rendez-vous à ses fans pour un concert qui s’annonce haut en couleurs, Mika a rencontré la presse pour évoquer sans détours sa carrière, sa musique, ainsi que le concert qu’il livrera ce soir au public du festival Mawazine. L’artiste qui revient à Mawazine après un premier passage plus que réussi en 2010, a répondu aux questions d’Artisthick, quelques heures avant son concert.

 

Artisthick : Il y a trois ans, vous avez brillé à Mawazine lors d’un concert exceptionnel, quelles sont vos appréhensions pour ce soir ? Et qu’est ce que vous avez prévu de spécial pour votre public marocain ?

 

Mika : C’est un très beau souvenir que je garde de l’édition à laquelle j’ai participé. Je suis très heureux d’être encore une fois au Maroc pour ce festival. C’est un show complètement différent que je proposerai ce soir. Je change de show chaque six mois, malheureusement pour mon producteur (rires). Ce que je vous proposerai ce soir a été inspiré par Kusama, l’artiste japonaise. J’ai été inspiré par les robes qu’elle portait, ces robes couvertes de petits points. Je me suis dit que ce serait bien de faire un concert où tout le monde serait couvert avec de petits points. Le spectacle est visuellement inspiré de cette artiste.

 

Artisthick : Et qu’en est il musicalement ?

 

Mika : Musicalement, c’est assez intéressant parce que j’ai trois albums maintenant. C’est ce qui fait la différence. La première fois que j’ai fait une scène, je n’avais qu’un seul album. Je n’avais pas assez de chansons pour faire un show complet. Je devais faire des reprises, et je fais des reprises horribles (rires). Je les faisais juste parce que je devais assurer un concert d’une heure et demie. Après j’en ai eu deux, maintenant j’en ai trois. Je peux vraiment choisir le feeling et le type de chanson que je veux faire en concert. Sans oublier que maintenant, je chante aussi en français. Ce qui est sûr, c’est que c’est un show complètement différent du dernier. C’est plus frais et un peu plus moderne.

 

Artisthick : Nous avons vu, il y’a quelques semaines, dans l’émission « Coke Studio Arabia » diffusée sur la chaine panarabe MBC4. Vous y avez interprété une version orientale de votre titre : Relax, Take It Easy, en compagnie de la chanteuse libanaise Karol Sakr. Est – ce que vous prévoyez des collaborations avec des artistes arabes dans vos albums futurs ?

 

Mika : En ce qui concerne Coke Studio, j’ai fait un duo avec Karol Sakr. J’ai été complètement étonné par la reprise qu’on a faite de Relax. Honnêtement, quand ils m’ont demandé de faire cette collaboration, j’avais des réserves sur ce que ça allait donner. Je me demandais si le résultat allait être sincère. Quand on a commencé à travailler sur le titre, j’ai été complètement étonné, notamment par les couplets retravaillés à la manière arabe. Redécouvrir ma chanson de cette manière était, tout simplement, surprenant. J’aimerai bien travailler avec des artistes arabes. J’ai une idée de projet musical qui sera basé à Beyrouth. Il sera en français, en anglais et en arabe. J’ai grandi avec ce mélange de langues. On me parlait à la maison en français, en arabe, en anglais. On écoutait du Fayrouz, du Oum Kelsoum ensuite, du Nina Simone, du Barbara et du Gainsbourg. Je voudrais faire un album qui représente, comment j’ai grandi et qui sera à l’image de mon histoire familiale. Vous savez ma famille a quitté Beyrouth pendant la guerre pour Paris. Maintenant, il y en a qui sont retourné à Beyrouth et d’autres qui sont un peu partout. Je voudrai bien retranscrire cette période ma vie dans un album. Et pour se faire, utiliser les trois langues est essentiel. Tout comme Fayrouz, qui mélangeait des sonorités, classique, folk, européenne avec la musique arabe. J’aimerai continuer cette sorte de tradition et le faire d’une manière moderne me tente beaucoup.
