 Le télé-crochet désormais produit par ITV Studios France fait son retour à 21h ce samedi.

 

"The Voice" est de retour ! C'est ce soir que TF1 lancera la septième saison de son télé-crochet phénomène, désormais produit par ITV Studios France. La Une proposera le premier épisode des auditions à l'aveugle et se frotte sans doute déjà les mains, le lancement de l'émission étant chaque année synonyme de bonne audience garantie. Le 18 février 2017, pour le premier épisode de la saison 6, "The Voice" avait ainsi fédéré 6,82 millions d'amateurs, soit 33,8% du public et un excellent 46% sur les femmes responsables des achats de moins de cinquante ans.

Cette septième saison sera marquée par l'arrivée de Pascal Obispo parmi les coachs. Suite au départ de M. Pokora, l'interprète de "Lucie" et "Tombé pour elle" rejoint en effet Zazie, Mika et Florent Pagny, ce dernier ayant d'ores et déjà annoncé que cette septième saison serait la dernière en ce qui le concerne. Mais ce n'est pas tout. Si les auditions à l'aveugle continuent à fédérer massivement, les battles et les auditions ultimes enregistrent traditionnellement des audiences sensiblement plus faibles. Du coup, TF1 et ITV Studios France ont décidé de revoir la mécanique de l'émission en profondeur.

 

Exit les battles

 

Après les auditions à l'aveugle, les 72 talents sélectionnés par les coachs devront à nouveau se confronter aux coachs mais ceux-ci leur feront désormais face. Chaque talent sélectionnera deux titres et c'est le coach qui décidera de celui qui sera interprété sur scène. Un écrémage important est attendu dès cette phase de la compétition puisque, à l'issue de celle-ci, il ne restera que huit talents dans chaque équipe. De leur côté, tout au long de cette audition finale, les coachs gardent la possibilité de "voler" deux talents.

Une fois l'audition finale achevée, les 32 talents encore en course se confronteront à la nouvelle épreuve des "duels". Selon ITV Studios France, il s'agit de "battles revisitées et boostées". À ce stade, les coachs n'auront plus la possibilité de "voler" des talents dans les équipes adverses, comme c'était le cas l'an passé, et verront s'affronter par deux leurs huit derniers talents. À l'issue de cette étape, la composition des équipes des coachs, qui auront chacun quatre talents pour les primes en direct, sera donc arrêtée.

TF1 espère ainsi relancer l'émission, qui a vu ses audiences baisser sensiblement. L'an dernier, la saison 6 a ainsi réuni en moyenne 5,7 millions de téléspectateurs, soit 28,6% de PDA, en baisse de 600.000 aficionados et 1,8 point de PDA par rapport à 2016. A J+7, le bilan est moins dramatique, "The Voice" ayant réuni en moyenne 6,5 millions de fidèles (30% de PDA) contre 6,9 millions en 2016.

Drea Dury a fait danser Pascal Obispo, Mika et Florent Pagny en reprenant le célèbre tube de Rihanna, RUDE BOY. Rencontre avec cette jeune colombienne de 22 ans qui fait désormais équipe avec Mika pour la 7ième saison de THE VOICE.

 

Pourquoi avoir tenté l’aventure THE VOICE ?
"Cela fait un moment que je chante et que je fais ma musique. Je trouve que c’est une belle opportunité pour apprendre de nouvelles choses."

 

Pourquoi cette chanson : RUDE BOY de Rihanna ?

Je voulais proposer un titre qui se rapproche de mon univers musical, qui représente bien mon personnage. Pour RUDE BOY,  j'ai ajouté un morceau en espagnol que j'ai écrit. C’était une belle occasion, d’apporter ma touche personnelle sur cette reprise. Et les coachs ont adoré !"

 

Pourquoi avoir choisi Mika ?
"Mon premier choix était Pascal Obispo. Mais Mika m’a fait une critique très constructive. Il m’a dit : "T’as beaucoup d’énergie sur scène. Cela est un atout, mais cela peut aussi devenir une faiblesse." Il a détecté quelques imperfections et je pense qu’il va pouvoir m’apporter beaucoup."

 

Tu as fait danser les coachs pendant ta prestation, qu’as-tu ressenti ?

"Dès que je suis montée sur scène, je me suis dit que j’allais tout donner, même si ils ne se retournaient pas. Je chantais pour le public. Mais dès que je me suis mise à chanter, Florent Pagny et Pascal Obispo se sont retournés. Mon stresse s’est transformé en adrénaline et j’ai commencé à m’ambiancer. C’était super émouvant, j’avais envie de pleurer de joie !"

 

Comment vas-tu te préparer pour la suite de l’aventure ?

"Je vais prendre en compte tous les conseils que Mika pourra me donner. Puis je vais faire le bon choix de chansons. Je ne vais pas toujours chanter des titres festifs !"

 

Quel est ton point fort, selon toi ?
"Mon énergie. Je pense que ce sera un atout pour la suite. Aujourd’hui les artistes, ce n’est pas que la voix. C’est un tout. Le show compte beaucoup."

 

Comment définirais-tu ton style musical ?
"C’est une question très difficile ! J’ai beaucoup d’influences américaines. Du hip-hop, du dancehall… J’écoute également du RnB. J’ai été bercé par plusieurs cultures et c’est ce qui fait la richesse de mes différents styles."

Tu composes toi-même quelques titres ?

"Oui. J’ai toujours écrit mes chansons, j’aime bien écrire, raconter des histoires et mélanger l’espagnol et l’anglais dans mes chansons. J’adorerais avoir l’avis des coachs, ça me ferait plaisir."

Quel est l’artiste qui t’inspire le plus ?
"Alicia Keys m’a toujours inspirée. Elle m’a donné envie de chanter. J’aime beaucoup Celia Cruz pour ce qu’elle a fait au niveau salsa, c’était une femme forte."

 

Quelle est ta chanson du moment ?
J’écoute beaucoup un rappeur belge, HAMZA, et sa chanson VIBES.

Ce samedi 27 janvier 2018, le duo Kriill (composé de Klaar et Richard) a envoûté,dès les premières auditions à l'aveugle de The Voice 7, le public et les coach avec sa reprise éléctro très personnelle de "Stayin' Alive" des Bee Gees. Une reprise qui leur permet de continuer l'aventure. PRBK a eu l'occasion d'interviewer les deux artistes afin d'en savoir plus sur leur univers musical, leur coach Mika, leur parcours ou encore leurs projets.

 

"On a beaucoup hésité avant de participer à The Voice"

 

Purebreak : Comment vous êtes-vous connus tous les deux ?

Klaar : On s'est rencontré au Conservatoire il y a trois ans et demi. On a commencé à créer des liens d'amitié assez tardivement.

Richard : On était dans la même classe en fait.

 

À quel moment avez-vous décidé de former Kriill ?

Klaar : On s'est retrouvé en rentrant d'un été, on a fait une petite soirée tous les deux, on a divagué et trippé sur des sujets qui nous parlaient, comme les abysses, la vie, l'immensité, l'individu et la masse, et petit à petit, un concept s'est formé. Ça nous a plu et on s'est dit qu'on allait transformer cet univers en musique.

 

Comment définiriez-vous votre style de musique ?

Klaar : C'est plus de l'électro. Après, je ne sais pas si on peut mettre des cases sur notre musique parce qu'elle est inspirée de plein de choses. Je ne voudrais pas dire qu'on fait de l'électro-pop car c'est réducteur.

Richard : Cette question est toujours compliquée parce qu'on explique tous la musique avec des noms à rallonge. Notre univers est à la fois doux et lourd, nos sons sont aquatiques et nos tempos assez lents. On peut aussi parler de nos influences comme Radiohead, James Blake et Massive Attack. Notre style et nos influences sont liés. On est aussi inspiré par la trap même si ça se voit à peine.

Klaar : Nous on fait vraiment du Kriill. On suit cette ligne conductrice qui nous drive. On aime bien faire des références directes à l'eau avec des gouttes et des vagues dans nos chansons. On s'inspire aussi de la musique britannique.

 

Pourquoi avoir tenté l'aventure The Voice ?

Richard : Un casteur nous a proposé de le faire.

Klaar : C'est une opportunité qu'on nous offrait. On a été ravi de nous lancer dedans.

Avez-vous hésité avant d'accepter ?

Klaar : On a beaucoup hésité. Ça a été un sujet très long. On s'est doucement fait porter par un fleuve qui nous amenait à se lancer dans l'aventure. On a quand même beaucoup douté de notre côté, mais à aucun moment on a dit non.

Richard : Ça s'est décidé tout seul. C'était une trop grosse opportunité pour la rater. Quand on hésite comme ça, c'est mieux d'essayer que d'avoir le risque de regretter de n'avoir rien fait.

"Ça aurait été réducteur de ne pas utiliser nos machines"

Si vous regardiez The Voice avant, vous avez sûrement remarqué MB14, qui a lancé le genre électro dans l'émission. Est-ce qu'il vous a encore plus donné envie d'y participer ?

Richard : Moi je regardais The Voice avant, surtout les auditions à l'aveugle. Je me rappelle très bien de MB14, mais ce n'est pas lui qui nous a mis la puce à l'oreille pour participer à l'émission.

Klaar : Par contre, c'est un artiste qu'on aime bien. J'ai un peu suivi son aventure et j'ai vraiment bien aimé. Après, notre univers est un peu différent, mais c'est vrai que MB14 a ouvert la voie, on ne peut pas le nier.

Richard : J'ai eu des coups de coeurs dans The Voice et ce n'est pas forcément dû à l'électo. Par exemple, j'ai adoré Slimane alors qu'il avait un profil plutôt classique.

Dès les auditions à l'aveugle, vous montrez votre univers en matière d'électro. Vous n'aviez pas de prendre un risque ?

Klaar : Plus ou moins. On n'est pas venu avec nos voix seulement, on est venu avec notre univers en entier et on a utilisé The Voice comme une vitrine pour se montrer. Ça aurait été réducteur de ne pas utiliser nos machines car elles font partie de notre univers. On a vraiment été poussé à rester nous-mêmes par toute l'équipe. À aucun moment on a eu à faire des concessions. Tant que notre musique plaît aux coachs, au public et aux téléspectateurs ça nous va.

Richard : C'était un peu la condition pour qu'on participe à The Voice même si de rester nous-mêmes dépendait de nous. Mais de mon côté, je n'avais aucune crainte vis-à-vis de ça car ils nous ont contacté pour notre univers musical. Au moins pour les auditions à l'aveugle, ça me semblait pertinent de rester nous-mêmes parce que c'était le premier stade d'une chose pour laquelle on nous avait contacté. On ne connaissait pas la télé donc on pouvait imaginer plein de choses négatives.

 

Vous choisissez d'ailleurs un morceau des Bee Gees. Est-ce le style de musique que vous reprenez ou écoutez en général ?

Klaar : Pas du tout. Par contre, je ne nie pas avoir des influences des années 80 assez fortes. La chanson des Bee Gees m'a accompagné, j'ai adoré l'écouter plus jeune en dansant ou dans des BO de films qui m'ont marqué. On a écouté une version d'un groupe de filles qui s'appelle Say Lou Lou et c'est à ce moment-là qu'on s'est dit qu'on pouvait prendre des libertés de notre côté. C'était une bonne idée parce que ce morceau est très connu. On en a d'ailleurs fait quelque chose de très différent.

 

Pourquoi voir choisi Mika comme coach ?

Klaar : C'est un artiste que j'ai beaucoup écouté quand j'étais au collège. Il m'a accompagné dans ma jeunesse surtout son album où se trouve les morceaux "Grace Kelly", "Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)", "Stuck in the middle". Mika fait partie des artistes dans ce jury qui m'a ému à un moment donné du coup, mon choix se tournait vers lui pour ces raisons-là .

Richard : Mon choix était aussi Mika. J'aime bien quand les choses ont un sens et là ça en avait un car mon alter-ego avait ce kiff. N'ayant jamais écouté l'un des 4 coach, je trouvais ça intéressant d'aller vers l'un d'entre eux qui avait participé à l'influence de l'un de nous deux.

 

Le fait qu'il a donné sa chance au duo Les Frero Delavega et au trio Arcadian vous a-t-il influencé ?

Klaar : Peut-être, mais en même temps, Mika s'est retourné avant les autres. Il était debout sur sa chaise et c'est lui qui nous a le plus vendu son équipe même si on avait une préférence pour lui. Après, Pascal Obispo a montré un intérêt pour nous qu'on a tout autant jaugé, mais comme on avait déjà pensé à Mika.

Richard : Mika a été le plus convaincant. Pour être honnête, je connais les coach qu'à travers The Voice, du coup, je n'avais aucune idée de qui était plus ou moins ouvert.

Klaar : Et puis humainement parlant, on ne les connaît pas du tout. On choisit un artiste avant de choisir un humain, mais je suis sûr que Zazie et Pascal Obispo auraient aussi beaucoup de choses à nous apporter

Comment est Mika durant les coaching ?

Klaar : On a eu l'occasion de le rencontrer durant le coaching de la seconde étape et tout s'est bien passé. On n'a pas eu de désaccord sur des points artistiques. Il a eu l'air de bien aimer nos compositions. C'était agréable de communiquer avec lui.

Richard : Il est doux, sympa, gentil, rassurant, respectueux et très à l'écoute. Il nous a surtout conseillé scéniquement car on avait parfois tendance à oublier qu'on était à deux à cause de nos avec nos machines et qu'on pouvait s'appuyer l'un sur l'autre sur le plateau. L'essentiel de tout ça était de communiquer et de vibrer ensemble. Il nous a donc rappelé ça quand on commençait à perdre nos moyens.

 

Avec quels artistes aimeriez-vous collaborer par la suite ?

Klaar : Dans The Voice, on a crée des affinités assez fortes avec des talents et on aimerait faire des collaborations avec eux.

Richard : Comme on y a pas réfléchi ensemble, je pense qu'on a des idées différentes. De mon côté, j'ai réfléchi aux gens dont je suis fan comme Beyoncé (rires), James Blake et Massive Attack.

Klaar : J'ai réfléchi à l'éventualité de faire un concert avec Nosfell, un chanteur, guitariste et beatboxer. Il a une histoire qui lui est propre et que j'admire. Il a fait un album qui s'appelle Kälin Bla et la suite du titre est imprononçable. C'est magnifique, c'est d'une pureté qui me plaît énormément. J'adorerai faire une collaboration avec eux. Mais on aimerait travailler avec les artistes qu'on admire.

 

Appréhendez-vous la célébrité après The Voice ?

Richard : On espère surtout toucher un max de public, mais aussi des professionnels qui seraient intéressés par notre univers, tel qu'on est et non pas par ce qu'ils voudraient nous faire faire. Comme on sait vraiment composer, on a un univers solide et on sait où on va, du coup, on pense qu'on est en mesure de pouvoir espérer ça.

Klaar : On souhaite avant tout donner de la visibilité à notre projet, à notre histoire, ce qu'on fabrique et ce qu'on partage ensemble. On est ravi de montrer qui on est et si ça prend, c'est bénéfique pour nous. Ça ne fait que grandir la foi qu'on a en notre musique. On est impatient de découvrir tout ça.

 

Et les critiques sur votre style musical, ça vous fait peur ?

Klaar : Chacun ses goûts. Les gens qui n'apprécient pas tant pis pour eux et tant pis pour nous, ce n'est pas la fin du monde. On ne pourra donner du crédit qu'aux gens qui apprécient parce que sinon, on n'a pas d'espoir en ce qu'on fabrique.

Richard : On espère juste qu'assez de gens aimeront. Après, on a tous des artistes qu'on aime et qu'on aime pas, il y aura de toute façon toujours quelqu'un pour détester quelque chose.

 

Si l'aventure The Voice ne fonctionne pas pour vous, avez-vous déjà d'autres projets de prévu, comme un album ?

Klaar : On aimerait beaucoup sortir un EP donc on va voir comment on va le faire. On n'a pas encore concrétisé cette idée. Après, il y a plusieurs possibilités, soit on décroche le deal avec Universal et on voit ce que ça donne, soit on essaie de sortir ça de notre côté en ayant la liberté la plus totale. Mais on a tout le matériel, la motivation et l'envie de sortir un EP.

Richard : Les compos sont là en tout cas.

Purebreak: How did you both know each other?
Klaar: We met at the Conservatory three and a half years ago. We started to create friendships rather late.
Richard: We were in the same class, actually.

When did you decide to train Kriill?
Klaar: We ended up returning from a summer, we did a little evening both, we wandered and trippled on topics that spoke to us, like the abyss, life, immensity, the individual and the mass, and little by little, a concept was formed. We liked it and we thought we were going to transform this universe into music.

How would you define your style of music?
Klaar: It's more electro. After, I do not know if we can put boxes on our music because it is inspired by many things. I would not say that we do electro-pop because it's reductive.

Richard: This question is always complicated because we all explain music with extended names. Our universe is both soft and heavy, our sounds are aquatic and our tempos slow. We can also talk about our influences like Radiohead, James Blake and Massive Attack. Our style and our influences are linked. We are also inspired by the trap even if it is barely visible.
Klaar: We really do Kriill. We follow this conductive line that drives us. We like to make direct references to water with drops and waves in our songs. It is also inspired by British music.

 

Why did you try the adventure The Voice?
Richard: A caster has offered to do it.
Klaar: It's an opportunity we were offered. We were thrilled to get into it.

Did you hesitate before accepting?
Klaar: We hesitated a lot. It has been a very long subject. We were gently carried by a river that led us to embark on the adventure. We still had a lot of doubts on our side, but at no time did we say no.
Richard: It was decided alone. It was too big an opportunity to miss it. When we hesitate like that, it's better to try than to have the risk of regretting having done nothing.

If you watched The Voice before, you must have noticed MB14, who launched the electro genre on the show. Did he make you want to participate?

Richard: I watched The Voice before, especially the blind auditions. I remember very well MB14, but it is not him who put us the chip to listen to participate in the show.

Klaar: On the other hand, he is an artist we like. I followed his adventure a bit and I really liked it. After, our universe is a little different, but it is true that MB14 has opened the way, we can not deny it.

Richard: I had hearts in The Voice and it's not necessarily due to the electo. For example, I loved Slimane while he had a rather classic profile.

From the auditions to the blind, you show your universe in terms of electro. You did not have to take a risk?

Klaar: More or less. We did not come with our voices alone, we came with our entire universe and we used The Voice as a showcase to show. It would have been reductive not to use our machines because they are part of our universe. We were really pushed to stay ourselves by the whole team. At no time did we have to make concessions. As long as our music appeals to coaches, the public and viewers, it suits us.

Richard: It was a bit of a condition for us to participate in The Voice even if staying ourselves depended on us. But for my part, I had no fear about it because they contacted us for our musical universe. At least for the blind auditions, it seemed relevant to me to stay because it was the first stage of something we had been contacted. We did not know TV so we could imagine a lot of negative things.

You also choose a piece of Bee Gees. Is it the style of music you pick up or listen to in general?

Klaar: Not at all. By cons, I do not deny having influences of the 80s strong enough. The song of the Bee Gees accompanied me, I loved to listen to it younger when I was dancing or in movies that marked me. We listened to a version of a group of girls called Say Lou Lou and that's when we said we could take liberties on our side. It was a good idea because this piece is very well known. We have done something very different.

Why choose Mika as a coach?

Klaar: It's an artist I listened to a lot when I was in college. He accompanied me in my youth especially his album where are the songs "Grace Kelly", "Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)", "Stuck in the middle". Mika is one of the artists in this jury who moved me at a given moment of the coup, my choice turned to him for these reasons.
Richard: My choice was also Mika. I like when things make sense and there was one because my alter-ego had this kiff. Having never listened to one of the 4 coach, I found it interesting to go to one of them who had participated in the influence of one of us.

Richard: Mika was the most convincing. To be honest, I know coaches only through The Voice, so I had no idea who was more or less open.
Klaar: And humanly speaking, we do not know them at all. We choose an artist before choosing a human, but I'm sure that Zazie and Pascal Obispo would also have a lot to give us

How is Mika during coaching?

Klaar: We had the opportunity to meet him during the coaching of the second stage and everything went well. There was no disagreement on artistic points. He seemed to like our compositions. It was nice to communicate with him.

Richard: He is sweet, nice, kind, reassuring, respectful and very attentive. He especially advised us scenically because we sometimes tend to forget that we were two because of our with our machines and that we could rely on each other on the set. The essence of it all was to communicate and vibrate together. So he reminded us of that when we started to lose our means.

Which artists would you like to collaborate with later?

Klaar: In The Voice, we have created strong affinities with talents and we would like to collaborate with them.
Richard: Since we have not thought about it together, I think we have different ideas. For my part, I thought about people I'm a fan of like Beyoncé (laughs), James Blake and Massive Attack.

Klaar: I thought about the possibility of doing a concert with Nosfell, a singer, guitarist and beatboxer. He has a story of his own and I admire him. He made an album called Kälin Bla and the rest of the title is unpronounceable. It's beautiful, it's a purity that I like a lot. I would love to work with them. But we would like to work with the artists we admire.

Do you apprehend celebrity after The Voice?

Richard: We especially hope to reach a max of public, but also professionals who would be interested in our universe, as we are and not by what they would like us to do. As we really know how to compose, we have a solid universe and we know where we are going, so we think we can hope for that.
Klaar: We want above all to give visibility to our project, our history, what we do and what we share together. We are happy to show who we are and if it takes, it is beneficial for us. It only increases the faith we have in our music. We can not wait to discover all that.

And critics of your musical style, do you feel scared?

Klaar: Everyone's tastes. People who do not appreciate too much for them and too bad for us, it's not the end of the world. We can only give credit to people who appreciate because otherwise we have no hope of making.
Richard: We just hope enough people will like it. After, we all have artists we love and we do not like, there will always be someone to hate something.

If the adventure The Voice does not work for you, do you already have other projects planned, like an album?

Klaar: We would like to release an EP so we'll see how we do it. We have not yet realized this idea. After, there are several possibilities, either we win the deal with Universal and we see what it gives, or we try to get out of our side with the fullest freedom. But we have all the equipment, the motivation and the desire to release an EP.

Après réflexion, c’est avec Mika qu’elle a décidé de faire équipe. Passionnée de musique depuis son plus jeune âge, elle a enchaîné les concours dans son pays natal depuis l’âge de 15 ans. Après avoir étudié le design industriel en Belgique, Drea Dury sait qu’aujourd’hui, elle souhaite faire de la musique son métier. Grâce à son style reggea/rap, la jolie brune souhaite séduire le public mais aussi, le faire danser !

En interprétant STAYIN’ALIVE des Bee Gees, le duo Kriill s’est démarqué. Convoités par Mika, Pascal Obispo et Zazie, Richaard et Klaar se sont dirigés vers Mika. Les deux jeunes hommes se sont rencontrés au conservatoire et ont décidé d’allier leur deux univers  et former un duo. Le groupe, qui n’a pas eu l’occasion de beaucoup se produire sur scène souhaite présenter au public leur créations et surtout, le surprendre !
