I'm putting this here instead of in The Voice thread, as it deals with another, more unusual topic:

https://www.melty.fr/people/mika-accro-a-la-chirurgie-esthetique-nikos-aliagas-est-categorique-2121459.html

Is Mika addicted to cosmetic surgery???!!! :lol3:

Mika addicted to cosmetic surgery? Nikos Aliagas is categorical!

Would Mika, back in The Voice 2024, have abused cosmetic surgery? Nikos answered for him, and the presenter is categorical.

This Saturday, February 10, the new season of The Voice got off to a flying start! If Vianney, Zazie as well as Big Flo and Oli have returned for this 2024 edition, it also marks the great return of an emblematic coach: Mika. As a reminder, the singer was the only one to have turned to the voice of Kendji Girac, who has now become one of the biggest stars of the program. So, what does he have in store for us this season? One thing is certain, his first evening was more than successful! Mika wins everything at the blind auditions! In fact, barely the season has started, Mika has already established himself as a formidable coach against his comrades. If Big Flo and Oli were treated to a timid start to blind auditions with only one talent, for his part, Mika was not idle. For this first evening, he leaves with three hotly contested talents: Manuela, Lance Priester and Gabriel Lobao. But be careful, because Zazie is not left out either since three talents have also chosen to join her. Namely Stolt, Alphonse and Hamid, a 100% male team. On the Vianney side, a timid start with only two talents, Aprile and Maeva. One thing is certain, Mika risks surprising us once again!

Mika, addicted to surgery?

And his success at The Voice blind auditions isn't the only thing Mika is in the news for. Aged 40, it seems that the singer… has not aged a bit since the last season in which he participated. And Internet users have noticed it! Some even question his use of cosmetic surgery. Could the coach have abused it? An Internet user also wrote, "Surgery ? There is debate in my house. In any case, it’s well done if so.” If the main person concerned has not reacted, he can count on the historic presenter of The Voice, Nikos Aliagas. In fact, he was happy to answer for him: “Having seen him up close for several years, I confirm that everything is natural about him.” That is clear ! According to him, Mika has never had cosmetic surgery.

The beauty secrets of The Voice coach

The iconic coach of The Voice had also revealed his little beauty secrets on several occasions. On Europe 1, Mika explained that he owed his youth to a machine bought after seeing a documentary devoted to Céline Dion. “I don’t smoke cigarettes, but I drink a beer. I saw a documentary with Céline Dion, with this machine that she put on her mouth. I went to get the machine, only because I wanted Céline Dion's machine […] It emits salt vapor, we breathe it and I must say, "Céline, it works! ". A beauty ally that Mika is very proud of. Is this really the secret of his eternal youth?

Ah yes Mika is just so irritatingly nice and boring, it's necessary to make stuff up to write an article about him.

And being gay isn't controversial enough anymore either, what a shame for the press.

Sorry, sometimes I just can't with these articles

I found an old article in 2015.

To stay in shape, Mika takes inspiration from Celine Dion

What is most precious about Mika? His voice. So that the latter does not suffer from his perpetual travels, he takes care of it… like Celine Dion!

Mika is not the type to take 15 days of vacation. Between writing his songs, studio recordings, concerts all over the world, promotion, filming The Voice, the X Factor in Italy... he doesn't stop.

Between planes and hotels, how does he keep fatigue from setting in and affecting his voice? He simply steals the good tips from his colleague Céline Dion! Not stupid ! It must be said that the singer is still on top vocally. And then between great voices, we can help each other, right?

It was while watching a documentary on the star that the singer of the hit Elle me dit had a real revelation. “I saw a documentary with Celine Dion with this machine that she put on her mouth every time she got off. I went to get the machine, only because I wanted Celine Dion’s machine,” he explained.

But what is this improbable device? Mika did not specify the name of the machine but explained how it works. “It emits salt vapor, we breathe it in and I must say, Céline, it works! » With such a powerful voice, Mika probably doesn't need a machine. But if it can reassure him...

THANK YOU CharlotteL!
There are I'm sure many interesting interviews that Mika has done but so much of it all is same old same old that I just feel like the punch line from that old joke (guy come up on a fellow elbow deep in a pile of manure. What are you doing, he asks. The fellow says,  I know there must be a horse in here somewhere.

which now 50 years later makes no sense to me because why would the horse be deep in his poop? But the point is, I wish there could be some kind of separating or highlighting when some new info or idea is disclosed or observed.

Yeah, I mean obviously if you keep your respiratory system hydrated that's good for your voice - but they're making it sound like a special secret machine, when you could as well just hang your head over a pot/kettle with boiling saltwater to achieve the same effect for your voice. :teehee: Of course that machine is more comfortable and easier to use anywhere - but they make it sound more eccentric than it actually is.

Exactly the next thing I was gonna say!

Have you ever inhaled when you had a cold? Maybe even with salt water?!
Congrats you will stay young forever just like Mika (who miraculously doesn't look like a completely different person after a 5 year absence from the voice) :lmfao:

I imagine gig reports going to be like this:

”So he started off with XXX and omg his XXX and accompanying XXX with XXX was AMAZING!! I had to weep when XXX came on, because it touches me differently, especially for him bringing the XXX to give it that extra special something to it. Oh let’s not forget he did XXX AND HE THEN DID XXX AND I COULDN’T STOP DANCING! And did you all see the XXX coming out of the XXX with the XXX and XXX?????!!!!”

Mika says first, that in Clermont-Ferrand it'll be the first time he's testing all the elements of the new show. Then he says that he always has this connection with the audience where him and them feel more free, less complexed, very different than in real life, and he likes that. As a preparation for the tour, he's exercising every day and he takes care of what he's eating. On the tour, it's also important to keep changing, doing different things, reacting to the audience. He talks a bit more about this and says there is no separation between him and the audience, to create a more intense energy, but I can't understand the details of what he's saying.

He says his show has very conceptual elements, it's telling a story from the beginning to the end, and it asks you to forget the world outside for 2 hours. To enter a parallel world, aesthetic, graphic, with decorations and costumes. Many people are working on it, from France, from the UK, from Brazil, Canada, the US, Italy, Holland. Mika says there'll be songs from his whole career that people expect, but also new elements and surprises. It's a different universe, his universe. And the concept of the Apocalypse, a suspended world. And, as they wrote in the text, he asks the audience who's coming to this first show in Clermont-Ferrand to not reveal the surprises. And he knows it's unusual because normally artists would ask you to share everything and post a lot, and he asks the opposite. To guard the secrets for at least a few days or a few weeks. So the surprises stay surprises and the magic of discovering them is kept. He thinks it's more powerful that way. If I understand it right, he says it's ok to share moments, but not unveil the surprises. That's what he asks of the crowd, especially for Clermont-Ferrand.

I think the interviewer asks him about his way of writing an album, and Mika says he doesn't write 500 songs to choose from them, but he writes for a certain concept, and then he has about 40-50 songs to choose from. He talks about why he wrote Jane Birkin and about inspiration for the album title (nothing new there). If I understand it correctly, the interviewer asks if there'll be a DVD of the show and Mika says he doesn't know yet. And then the interviewer says he's a dinosaur because he still bought a physical copy of the album on CD, and I think Mika says that's good and something like that the dinosaurs are more important than the streams.

Tbh, it annoys me what he says about not sharing the surprises. When I read the headline / text, I thought, ok, he's insecure, especially about this first test show, and he doesn't want people to judge him or the show before they haven't seen it for themselves. I'd have understood that. But that thing about keeping surprises, I really don't like that he tries to tell people what to do. Maybe he could say, don't post it in public, don't post it on social media, but only share it with your friends, if they really want to know. As a protection for those who don't want spoilers.

I don't like surprises. I'm the kind of person who doesn't buy or read a novel before checking on the last page whether the ending is ok for me. And there is still tension and magic in a novel or in a film, even if I already know the whole story. In Mika's shows, even more. I wouldn't need to go to 6 gigs of the tour, if the magic was lost after the first time. It's rather the opposite, I can focus much better on the emotions if I know the facts.

I know there are people who are the complete opposite and who try to keep offline, to not know anything about Mika's show before they see it for themselves. We've had this discussion before and we've come to the conclusion that here on MFC we're keeping spoilers to certain places (in this case, gig reports), so those who don't want to know it can just avoid these particular threads, and those who do want to know, know where to look. Well, whatever. I do hope that someone is willing to share news about the first gig with me via DM. It's already frustrating enough to not be able to go to the first gig, and to hear Mika talking about this whole big worldwide team who are working on the show and already know everything about it - but the prospect of not even getting to hear about it from other fans after the first show makes me sad. Just my opinion... there's no right or wrong in this, just the fact that people are different. :dunno:

I really hope that fans will share their reports and videos here on MFC, they can do it under the spoiler very well. Those who don't want to know it, can skip it. I also don't like surprises :aah:

And even more we should think of all the fans that have no possibilities to attend any Mika show at all. I know I'm always grateful for all the pics, vids and reports shared here on the forum.

honestly I understand it a little... wanting to keep surprises is good! I'm lucky enough to be going to this first concert (it's the first time I'm going to see it so I'm really excited!!!!!) so let's see what these surprises are!

I think he's simply asking doesn't share videos on social media, I don't think he asking do not talk about his concert with friends, or in private.

Probably he's organizing something new for these shows, something througt could surprise people or give them a different emotions than the past. I don't know exactly, but I'm pretty sure that there will be some reason if he asked this to his fans.

I can't go to his concert this time and so, me too, I hope can watch something about it, but I know well too the ability of Mika to surprise us!  So...I'm waiting for next adventures! ;)

Btw, I listened to this interview as well but didn't summarize it, as I only understand half of it - it's so chaotic and they keep talking over each other's voices, with Mika's mic at a lower volume (or maybe he was just speaking more quietly than the presenters) that it was too much for my little French skills. 😅 The bits I understood were nothing really new. Something about faithfulness being important in a relationship (I think the interviewer interpreted his lyrics in a different way :teehee:), and from what I understood Mika had to recognize some celebrity by asking them questions (I think it was a former candidate of The Voice, but not sure).

I just gave it a go. Agreed, that was a bit too much for me as well :D

To the question of whether he's happy with his life since 2007 he says that it's hard to quantify but he has had so many experiences (good and bad ones) so he feels privileged and lucky to have such a full life.

They talk about Jane Birkin and I think he says that she didn't get to listen to it but her daughters did and sent him a nice message. The interviewer says Mika has the same elegance (which Mika takes as a big compliment) and the accent of course (which Mika doesn't like as much :D).

The interviewer says that love is also a big topic on the album and Mika says yes in all its different facets (rage, joy, etc) and the interviewer brings up faithfulness which yes, Mika says is good and very important. I'm not sure if the interviewer interpreted something differently, he was probably just talking about MAEP which does talk about faithfulness to be fair.

And yes they played a game where Mika had to guess the person based on their voice and yes and no questions. It turned out to be last year's winner Aurélien who said that his win was all thanks to Mika because he saved him in the Super Cross Battles (which is interesting, I didn't realize).

-

On prend quand même note.

YOUNG AND POP!

On August 18, our coverstar went through what has long been the worst ordeal for any pop star. Long before him, Elvis Presley had capitulated: he locked himself in his bedroom at Graceland and spent the day alone. His only comfort? His usual burgers and medicines. For his part, Paul “Macca” McCartney was more pragmatic: with a smile on his lips and unfeigned good-nature, he promoted Tug of War, an album imbued with the nostalgia common to any grandpa who has now put his affairs in order. As for Mick Jagger, he probably spent this cursed day in the living room of his Touraine castle, doing push-ups in front of Véronique and Davina's shows while refining the aero-rock of his next record... I'm referring, you You guessed it, at what was seen as a hell of a deadline for youth culture. The 40th anniversary.

In August 2023, Mika has just completed a series of live performances at major European festivals (“you have to convince an audience that is not already yours, a very good exercise”) while putting the final touches to his sixth album, May your head always bloom. He celebrates his 40th birthday with his loved ones, and in complete discretion. At the start of the school year, the leaping “C’est la vie” should appear.

The clip shows him in the middle of a crowd of fans, a normal life scene for the singer, and the lyrics seem to hesitate between resignation and refusal: “What are these lines on my face? Why do they come to talk about my age? ". Rather than answer, he launches into a speech in praise of love and its quest for eternally renewed creativity, which he compares to a cranial flowering: « que ta tête fleurisse toujours ›

When we meet him again, Mika still looks like this 23-year-old kid who became a superstar in just two songs in 2006 (the inexhaustible “Grace Kelly” and “Relax”). Slender, tall (1m91) and gracile, we can't help but ask him the question: do we have the right to age when we are a pop singer? He responds by walking around her. " Obviously. But if you can stay creative, with your head blooming with new ideas, you can find a way to stay happy.”

We still take note. In 2024, a pop singer would finally be allowed to age - as long as he remains handsome and inventive. I'm going to write it down on the cork board hanging on the editorial wall: it's something to keep in mind for a pop magazine which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2035. With an anniversary which will, I hope, look more like that of Mika or << Macca than that of Elvis...

Happy reading, see you in a month,

@mellody and @CharlotteL

I have tried to traslate the whole interview in English.

If you want I can post it in the next days. It is enough long and it was been enough hard to traslate it from french to italian and then from french to english, but I have made this with pleasure.

It was been a very good manner to exercise my french and my english!

If I can give my contribute and I can post it you tell me something! :thumb_yello:

Thank you! :pinkbow:
