Yeah, just have sort of an idea about it! Thanks! And definitely, he seems so much more confident singing this song than Elle me dit. I think this suits him way better than Elle me dit though. violet_sky
Thank you very much for uploading and thanks to whoever recorded it. Brilliant quality I have to say after having listened for the first time it doesn't do much to me. I put it down to the fact that it is in French and I can't understand much from just listening. I'm sure I will like it better when I know the lyrics. Also, I hear plenty of influences from Walking in Memphis (again ), Viva la Vida and a lot of stuff I know I know but can't allocate right now. Not that I think it's bad. You know I like how he can be quite efficient with what he's given. As for Mr. Violet, he said for him French only works for those classical chanson-y songs. On a side note: Having had a proper look on his clothing, I have to say I don't find it all that bad. For Mika himself it's not really a massive change. He often wore tailcoats on stage, so this is not really a big deal for me. I really like him wearing white, though.

kaisam
I already love Elle Me Dit and now this ? It's way better than EMD. I don't speak French, but it still has a magical effect on me. It doesn't matter if I understand what he says or not, I can feel to emotions that he put into the songs and this is, what matter to me.

The Viva la Vida bit comes from a particular remix of Rain - maybe he forgot that sample was not his own in the first place Actually, isn't this the bit Coldplay was sued for copyright infridgement? He'd better be careful. I am pleased his best songs are still in English. Blame it on the Weather is a masterpiece - I hope he won't spoil it with the production. Shine
Mika performed "82, rue des Martyrs" for the first time on July 9th in Compiegne hffDWcaxvIg This song is simply pure beauty. Lyrics, his way of singing, upbeat changes (especially at 1.09.) makes me feel I'm in heaven. And yes, the vibes of Cold Play sound are obvious and that can only be a new quality. crazyaboutmika
Those are the scraps of lyrics I've caught so far Déjà entre ses doigts un taudis ou pas , rue des martyrs ,au quatre vingt deux Karen garde tes sentiments Elle voudrait une vie meilleure pour ses frères et ses soeurs qui sont rentrés dans les rangs Car elle dit que Paris, c'est grand, une autre vie l'attend, elle dit qu'on l'achetera pas Karen traine tout l'temps son vieux rouge , que c'est la vie elle bouge va comprendre pourquoi Karen s'en fou /car elle s'en fout elle est libre elle est libre Karen dit couche avec des taulards/connards, elle dit qu'elle fera des envieux car elle traîne toujours à la botte chante les chansons des autres, chante ses rêves et les nôtres 50 ans and fumer tout sur un petit lit blanc Elle se dit qu'elle passera par la mer au quatre vingt deux , mais Elle vit chez sa mère juste à deux rues du quatre vingt deux Un jour l'amour , il a frappé à sa porte , elle a crié qu'il sorte, j'ouvre pas aux inconnus Car elle dit que Paris, c'est grand, une autre vie l'attend, elle dit qu'on l'achetera pas elle dit qu'elle vaut mieux qu'ça car elle est libre, elle est libre Elle est libre, elle est libre chante les chansons des autres Sur son vieux matelas pourri ce chien de ressort qui lui rentre dans les flancs elle dit qu'on la rattrapera pas Va comprendre pourquoi car elle s'en va, elle est libre
suzie
@crazyaboutmika Thank you for the lyrics. It is not helping me much though:dunno: Perhaps those non-native French speakers who said they love the lyrics and can speak English will help us translate what he means as google translator is no real help. Christine
Not feeling this at all. Sounds boring and dated to me, but I am going to chalk that up to the video. I think it may be one of the ones I would much prefer live (like Any Other World). Going to have to reserve any real judgement until I hear it for myself.
